Himiko started following {PP-F1} Chasing Daydreams (w/ Himiko)
-
Himiko flinched at the sudden outburst, instinctively shrinking back, she leapt like a scared cat, bolting away she hadn’t meant to startle the woman, but she supposed most people didn’t expect to be watched so closely. That was her mistake. Still, there was no anger in Adelyte’s reaction, only surprise, and soon enough, that gave way to warmth. The invitation was clear. A shift of belongings, a pat to the blanket, an opening in the moment. She hesitated, just for a second. Then, quietly, she moved forward, settling onto the soft fabric with her legs tucked beneath her.

The sudden realization of the girl's presence, even at a slight distance, was startling. Others walked the park's paths, keeping to their own devices. In a world of swords and monsters, a lone woman sketching wasn't exactly an exciting sight. Yet, here this young, ashen haired girl crouched, her gentle gaze locked onto the dark scribbles of charcoal on the page. "Gah! Don't look!" was her first instinct, nearly toppling over as she pulled the book into her chest. The girl appeared young, maybe about half of her own age, and timid given the volume of her voice and the space she gave Adely

There was a quiet hum beneath the surface of the bustling town—the kind of stillness that only existed in between the sounds of footsteps and idle chatter. Himiko liked that part the most. The way the world softened around the edges, a little quieter, a little slower, like it was waiting for something. Or someone. She had been watching the girl for a while now. Not in the creepy way, she told herself, but in the way a stray cat might watch someone from a safe distance. The soft pink of the blanket, the gentle flicks of her wrist as she sketched, the way her hair caught in the breeze—it wa

[PP | F01] Back in Session <<First Few Lessons>>
Adelyte replied to Faerie's topic in Beginner Floors
"You should get an accountant or something!" Adelyte would shout after the mayor as he ran off, probably to hand out even more loans, "You stink!" With pride in her chest and a confident smirk on her lips, she would turn to face the other player, a look that said 'i showed him.' "Politicians, amirite?" "Wait, so you've taken this quest before too?" she would ask, a slight tilt in her head. "Started it, never got around to finishing it because it took too long and the friends that you dragged along with you needed to get back to their own lives?" she pointed out a painfully specific scena -

The world felt as though it was wrapped in a soft, gray blanket. The sky a smooth, overcast expanse, with clouds ranging from light, wispy streaks to thick, dark masses. The sun's light is diffused, casting a gentle, even glow over everything. The air felt as it had within the waning months of winter, cool and breezy, but not harsh. The low hanging clouds hid any signs of the large, stone disk that was the second floor, though its labyrinth rose from the ground and faded into nothingness far off in the distance. It made the tower seem even more impossibly tall, if one hundred floors wasn't tal

[Clash Of Blades Season 1] Week 4: Kiyabu Hisao vs Vigilon
Vigilon replied to Kindling's topic in Player Vs Player
Kiyabu seemed to be fighting off dark thoughts, then went back to a plan of attack. Vigilon tried and failed to dodge his relentless assault. Of course, he'd gone back to stun tactics...how wonderful, in a scenario where there was something there that was beyond simple explanation. Vigilon managed to keep his head clear as he laid on his back, stunned and only able to view the monstrosity above. Those sanity tablets were doing wonders for him right now, as his mind was making peace with the fact that the material of the creature's flesh was indeterminable, and that it should close itself off t -

Plain house, plain school, plain friends. What was not plain was his obsession with martial arts from a young age. This obsession likely stemmed from his father, who had also been obsessed with martial arts from a young age, and started training Samuel in Kendo in grade school. Samuel had trouble making friends however, not many people wanted to join him in his imaginary battles against over one tho

Wulfrin had received the invite unexpectedly; he figured it was something just being offered out to Clash of Blades participants, but then he saw it listed on the message boards. At first Wulfrin was hesitant to make an appearance, but considering he was one of the top performers of the even, he felt slightly obligated. Though given how brutally he had won his first matches, he was more concerned about being considered the villain of the event, a fear he had started to rationalize even more when the event updated to ban his main strategy forcing him to pivot from a tried and true battle plan.

With the sixth week of this tournament over, Kiyabu found a notice about a get-together for the participants, which definitely garnered his attention as he checked the necessary information to find its location. “So I'm looking for a place called the ‘White Rabbit’ on floor four, on a snowy mountain... It'll definitely be a good change of pace from the fiery volcano of my last match.” He murmured quietly to himself, Before looking through his inventory for anything comfortable to wear. As Kiyabu came across the perfect harmony of style for this adventure up a mountain, He felt a tinge of excit

The White Rabbit. Minako looked up at the fairly large tavern. The outfit she wore was beginning to fail against the harsh winter of this floor. Why did she choose this floor for the tournament anyway? She crossed her arms across her chest and rubbed her upper arms for warmth. The party had already started, but she was waiting for someone to arrive. She shuddered as another gust blew though the patio she was standing in. She had already seen a few participants go inside, and she gave each of them a little wave and smile before they disappeared into the warm interior. She could only just make o

Now with a source of light that they could rely on, matching up the shipping labels with the manifesto was simple. It took some time, and cautious maneuvering, to retrieve everything from the storage room without causing an avalanche of assorted cargo. Yet, the two managed to move the entirety of the shipment to the stairs with nothing more than a few scuffs on the barrels. The storm still raged on, as it had ever since they stepped foot on this floor just a couple of hours ago. The sky shattering cracks of thunder no longer muffled by the planks of the vessel, and wind carried rain pelted the

Vigilon: First thing to note, be careful if you're planning to go to Floor Five, there's something pretty serious going on in there and I haven't assessed whether or not we can handle it. Second, Feel free to watch some matches in the Clash of Blades Tournament, and don't worry, you don't only have to support me! Astralin: How have I not heard of this already?? That's it, I'm watching your next match! Hope to see you win! Vigilon: I'll do my best, it's been a crazy six weeks so far. Those Thirteen Energy Drinks were a real doozy. Krysta: Thirteen!? She kept her arm around Jomei until he was standing upright again, and even then, let it linger a bit longer than perhaps was necessary. When she withdrew, stepping away to give the man his space, she gave a small nod. "Sure, alright, we'll stay." She hoped her voice held more conviction than her words. In truth, the idea of running away to greener pastures was incredibly appealing. She'd never considered herself a scary-cat, and she and Jomei had faced some pretty horrifying things together. But something about the twenty-ninth floor made her feel indescribably uneasy, and a warm drink by a c

Jomei the emerald duelist The White Rabbit Tavern, a good name for a bar. Always wondered if it had an Alice and Wonderland motif, or if the owner was just a fan of rabbits. The name had crossed his metaphorical desk before, though never from anyone he was familiar with. Apparently it was a popular spot for Lessa, and a spattering of other veterans. It was also built into the side of one of the floor's many snow covered mountains. A hike wasn't exactly on Jomei's agenda for today, but the promise of good drinks, and even better company

Can't believe I didn't think about starting a group chat. Krysta: By the way, I'll be giving you something soon, Vigilon. I have a feeling someone you find on your travels may need it. See you within half an hour. Vigilon: I'll stay put for your arrival, then. :) @Vigilon Receives: Vigilon has added Astralin to the group chat. Vigilon: Look who's joining us, Krysta!

Tavern Closed for Private Party "You know," Lessa began, studying the sign with her hands planted on her hips, "in the entire time I've known Alexander, I can't think of another time that he's closed the place down. He must have really taken to my post-tournament party idea. Orrrr he's going to charge me an outrageous rental fee." With a small whistle, Lessa tipped her head back to take in the White Rabbit's size. The multi-story building, with its tavern and adjoining inn, sat perched on one of the fourth floor's many snowy mountainsides. It was as enormous as it was beautiful, and in th

[Clash Of Blades Season 1] Week 4: Kiyabu Hisao vs Vigilon
Kiyabu Hisao replied to Kindling's topic in Player Vs Player
Because Kiyabu had taken the ‘Sanity Tablet,’ his mind was shielded from the insidious influence of the Eldritch horrors lurking in the arena. This protective measure left him blissfully unaware of the bizarre tendrils that had ensnared his opponent, Vigilon, just moments before. Yet, in the chaos of battle, perceptions were skewed, and Vigilon, grappling with the phantoms of his own mind, misinterpreted Kiyabu's demeanor. To Vigilon, it seemed as though Kiyabu had no intention or concern for a fellow player's plight, a misjudgment born of desperation and fear. Had Kiyabu seen the tendril -

[Clash of Blades Season 1] Week 6: Lessa v Jomei
Lessa replied to Minako's topic in Player Vs Player
"That's my girl." Three little words, but they ripped through her with the force of a nuclear bomb. She finished the string of attacks she’d already lined up, letting momentum and muscle memory carry her through the familiar steps, but she felt the fight draining from her like water through a sieve. She didn’t want it. And as hard as she tried, as much bravado as she could muster, she simply couldn’t convince herself otherwise. A cold wind whipped between them, sending their cloaks flapping wildly, and setting a fine layer of snowflakes spiraling around their ankles. Her hair tumble -
Teion kept largely to herself while the gaggle of players seemingly converged on the redhead. Keeping to herself was her default setting, after all. It was Boreas’ pointed greeting that first got a word out of her, to which she exhaled a single chuckle through her nose, flashed a crooked smile, and nodded. ”Yeah, I remember you.” She rarely forgot the face of a customer. It was Kindling’s following commentary that wiped the smile off her face and drew a sharp glance back in his direction. What was this guy’s problem? She could only guess the sudden influx of company was cramping his style.
