[F1-PP] Back to the Classroom <The Second Lesson>
Nicklaus replied to Rebekah's topic in Beginner Floors
Rebekah had raised an excellent point while Nicklaus was still waiting for the fish to bite on his line. "Can you tell me more about your own skill points that you had chosen, and what would you recommend for me? What is the optimal skill order and which skill should I max out next. Which of the following skills are useless in your opinion?" Nicklaus had asked and bombarded Rebekah with a lot of questions. This will give her enough time to explain everything to him. He was also curious at Rebekah's specific set of skills and if there was anything he could do to learn from her. He had been conf -

Nicklaus replied to Rebekah's topic in Beginner Floors
Rebekah had finally led him towards the fishing spot in the stone valley on the first floor. Nicklaus immediately got out a chair from his inventory, and began to cast out his fishing pole for the first time today. He wanted to get enough levels to reach level two, but knew that that may take a while. He realized he needed this experience and hopefully, he could also collect some items for him to use such as a treasure chest. That would a real treat. As soon as he had cast his fishing pole, he knew this was going to take a while. Now as the hard part, it was a waiting game for the fish to -

Nicklaus replied to Rebekah's topic in Beginner Floors
The mama boar was a lot tougher than the boarlets that he had previously faced. The first indicator of that was missing his own attack against a larger target. The second thing he had noticed was that the mama boar had dealt a lot more damage against him than the smaller boarlet. He was now running low on energy. He looked up and saw Rebekah watching him. She was not coming over to help, and he did not want her to come over. Nicklaus knew that he did not want someone else including her younger sister to step in to fight this battle for him. He needed the experience and knew he needed to a -

Nicklaus replied to Rebekah's topic in Beginner Floors
Nicklaus decides to pick up the glass vial of liquid. As he had it in his hands, he decides to examine the glass vial because it had looked like it was a special drop from killing the boarlets. As soon as he was about to examine the item a bit more, he could feel there was an animal staring at him. There was a giant mama boar in front of him. It had looked like it wanted to get revenge on Nicklaus for slaying her babies. Nicklaus knew how fierce these animals could be in the wild, especially the females when they are trying to defend or protect their babies from any danger. He realized he -

Nicklaus replied to Rebekah's topic in Beginner Floors
After defeating two of the three boarlets. Nicklaus knew that there was still one boarlet left to take care of. This would be very important as he did not want the battle to drag on longer than it had needed to. Rebekah had promised that she would take him fishing before they return to Lyle with the necessary boar tusks. She knew that this quest would finish early, and he did not want to deviate from that timeline since he knew these boars were too weak to be of much threat to him. Therefore, all he needed to do was to defeat this boarlet that was still in front of him. This time he wante -

Nicklaus replied to Rebekah's topic in Beginner Floors
Rebekah had helped him by identifying the three boarlets that were nearby. Since they were grouped up together, it was time for him to strike and defeat them before they manage to get any attack against them. Nicklaus knew that it was going to be very important to be able to kill as many as the boarlets as possible. He did not want to face a situation where he would have to defend against multiple monsters trying to attack him at the same time. Therefore, he had managed to hear Rebekah's advice. Even if she had not said anything, he would have done this regardless. After all, he had spent -

Nicklaus replied to Rebekah's topic in Beginner Floors
It had not take them very long to Lyle's shop thanks to the navigation skills of Rebekah who had done this quest before. For Nicklaus, this was his first time. Therefore, it was a lot harder for him even though he had lived in this settlement during his downtime. It was just too big, but her sister was able to navigate them while picking up a decent breakfast along the way. He could smell the food that she had decided to buy today. It smells delicious. There was only one problem right now, he needed to speak with the busy blacksmith in the gloomy dark shop. "Can I get some help?" Nicklaus -

Nicklaus replied to Rebekah's topic in Beginner Floors
Ever since Rebekah's recommendation last time, Nicklaus had spent the last few days reading Agro's guidebook for beginner at a rapid pace. In addition, he had spent the time to take notes to understand what was going on. As a result, he knew that there were a few easy quests that he should take on now that he had the time. Therefore, he decided to begin with this first quest on the first floor, and begin to work his way through some of the more difficult challenges out there. Rebekah was right that that the last quest was amazing but she had left out some of the other ones. Therefore, it -

Nicklaus replied to Rebekah's topic in Beginner Floors
Now that the group had returned back to the city where they had began this quest. Nicklaus had heard and listened to Rebekah's advice. It was a no brainer. He had decided to keep both of the trinkets he received as the reward from this quest given his need for trinkets. This would also be his first two perfect items he had earned throughout his time in Aincrad. This would be very important going forward. All he needed to do now was to wait for Rebekah to formally make that decision to Larbook. He had agreed with her idea. He was starving, so it would be a perfect time for lunch. They woul -

Nicklaus replied to Rebekah's topic in Beginner Floors
Nicklaus was surprised at the pace they had made out to get out of the labyrinth. It did not take them more than ten minutes to leave and for them to return directly back to the forest of wavering mist where the visibility had dropped instantly. The visibility was fine in the maze, but he was surprised at how much harder it was to see in the fog. It would not be too surprising as he had already came this way once already. However, there was one thing he had wanted to know more than anything, how had his performance stacked up to Rebekah's own expectations. He knew that if he did not fall -

Nicklaus replied to Rebekah's topic in Beginner Floors
With the last few words of encouragement once again, Nicklaus knew this was attempt number two. He knew he would have to try a lot harder than last time. Therefore, he began running towards the second monster with his long straight sword. He was ready to attack the monster with a simple slash. All he needed to do was to get close enough to land the attack at the giant monster standing in front of him. Once again, they had entered from the side of the room, where the minotaur could not spot them prior to being attacked. Therefore, this was once again a very good opportunity for Nicklaus. N -

Nicklaus replied to Rebekah's topic in Beginner Floors
Nicklaus knew that he would soon have to return to read and study the guide book. It was a mistake not doing this ahead of time, but he knew the best time to do this would be after this quest. There was nothing else he could do other than try to survive the rest of this battle. This was more important than anything else he had planned for the remainder of today. Therefore, Nicklaus knew that it would be very important for them to be able to finish the battle. Since they were now near where the second and final minotaur in this labyrinth. Nicklaus decided to ask Rebekah, "What is the plan? -

Nicklaus replied to Rebekah's topic in Beginner Floors
He agreed with the first part of Rebekah's answer. He needed to make sure his entire body was on the same page and not have his arms moving faster than his legs. He lacked the coordination of an experience player such as Rebekah who was a veteran of multiple boss raids back in the day. That was what he was striving to became, a solid rotational member of the floor raids. He believe he would not be strong enough for this upcoming raid, whenever it would happen, but his goal is to target the next one. All he needed to do was to grow fast enough to be eligible for the next fight. Nicklaus wa -

Nicklaus replied to Rebekah's topic in Beginner Floors
As Rebekah had helped him get back onto his feet, Nicklaus knew that he needed to be better for the next boss. After all, there were two bosses in this dungeon. He then heard her sister tell Larbook, it was time to find the second Minotaur. He did not expect to screw up this badly, but Rebekah was right. He had hasty rushed in without thinking about the consequences and watching where he was going. He was thankful that Rebekah had gone with him to this dungeon so that she could help clean up the mess and save him from a disaster. "How are you so good at this? You were able to attack with -

After getting the green light from her sister, Nicklaus decided to immediately take his straight sword and activate a sword art. He then immediately ran his way towards the unsuspecting giant minotaur who did not see him coming. Therefore, Nicklaus had a perfect opportunity before it could react, all he needed to do was to ensure he could execute on this attack. Unfortunately, Nicklaus was not used to running with his straight sword and had made some noise. The Minotaur was able to spot him immediately and began to attempt to dodge. However, it was at this moment, things had gotten from b -

Nicklaus replied to Rebekah's topic in Beginner Floors
With that reminder, Nicklaus knew that it was a mistake previously not having his weapon available since they must be getting near to the first boss. They had walked this entire way and it would suck to not be able to find the boss. Therefore, Rebekah knew that it was important to lead Nicklaus so he would not get lost in this situation. He was very thankful for that. Nicklaus was entirely getting anxious. This will be his first attempt at combat in Aincrad, where he would physically have to move his body. When he had played games in the past, all he had to do was to control a character i -

Nicklaus replied to Rebekah's topic in Beginner Floors
Now that they had entered the maze, Nicklaus will now have to focus a lot more and try to keep the voice down to a minimum. They did not want to attract any unwanted monsters that may stumble into their party. They had two jobs today, which was to slay both bosses in this labyrinth before returning to the settlement of Aruyt. This was the first time Nicklaus had entered the dangerous gloomy maze. Rebekah, his younger sister, was correct. They needed to enter in a proper formation and they need practice to stay in formation. Luckily, Larbook was able to act as their guide today, so he can -

Nicklaus replied to Rebekah's topic in Beginner Floors
Nicklaus was a little surprised why Rebekah wanted to know how he was feeling all of a sudden. This was unlike Rebekah's normal attitude so he thought perhaps she was possessed. However, Rebekah quickly explained to him that it was her goal to be a party leader for now. Maybe their roles may swap in the future, but she wanted Nicklaus to get used to combat first before he would go and potentially specialize as a tank. This was not a surprised for him, but he wondered whether or not it was a good idea. Given that he was the one with gaming experience until he remembered she was more experience -

Nicklaus replied to Rebekah's topic in Beginner Floors
Her younger sister who had already did this quest before had decided to let him take the reigns and speak with the giant warrior, Larbook. Nicklaus was not nervous but he was surprised that she was delegating this all important task to him instead. He wonder whether or not she had already done this and would be bored to hear the exact same words once again. Therefore, he began to talk to the NPC. Nicklaus was now learning there were two bosses inside the Labyrinth that was in the Forest of the Wavering Mist. Larbook, who knows the exact location and where to go decides to offer his help i -

Nicklaus replied to Rebekah's topic in Beginner Floors
This was the first time Nicklaus had visited another floor other than the first floor. For some reason, her sister wanted to meet him on the third floor and skip the second floor. He thought about it for a few minutes before deciding to accept. After all, Nicklaus was now level seven and not level one. He should be safe enough on this floor. Just to make things safer, he decided he would bring some of the potions that he received from his last quest on this journey. Rebekah's note did say that this quest does require some simple combat, which he has not tried so far out here in Aincrad. A -

Nicklaus had finally arrived back at the alchemist's shop. As soon as he entered, he turned to the NPC, "Can you show me how to make potions now?" He asked. He was tired from today's work. As he listened to Rebekah speak, he was confident in his ability to be a tank, and would look into leveling up to get those skills as soon as possible. Without speaking, Zackariah gave him instructions on a slip of paper. Nicklaus decided it was good enough, and began to mix together the potions following the instructions provided. He was making several batches at once but he was only able to keep the f -

After the two of them had failed in their first attempt to harvest to harvest some delicious green kale, it was now Nicklaus' turn. He knew that he could also win this competition between the two of them right away if he can find something. That would be amazing as this will help set him up for success down the road. The ability to know that he can go up against one of the top players in the game and beat them in an individual challenge on finding materials. This would be a huge boost for his confidence if he could make sure and pick the right amount of kale leaves. As he continued to har -

It was finally time. Nicklaus only had one more material to look for next. Since they had finished the carrot field and the strawberries, it was now time for them to walk to the next field. This time Nicklaus got to pick, and he decided to pick one of his favourite vegetables. It was going to be kale leaves. The trick to kale was that you only harvest a few leaves at a time from each plant, always taking the oldest leaves, and letting the smaller younger leaves grow. The plant can keep growing without some of it leaves, and Nicklaus loves to pull leaves off the plant. It also helped that -

That may have been a mistake saying those words. The moment those words were said, Rebekah ignored them. She had always ignored her taunts and moved on. However, the reaction of Snowball was the worst. He immediately flew over here and began harassing me as I started to collect materials. "Get away from me, you little bird." Nicklaus cursed at the white snowy owl. He looked at her sister for help to get her owl to stop but she was not even watching them. "What is your problem?" Nicklaus said to the owl. The owl hooted in response but Nicklaus does not speak owl. He wondered if there is an -

He followed her sister over to the strawberry field, and began picking. As Nicklaus heard her sister's explanation, it does make sense. He would not want to be those people stuck with a fifty pound box of potatoes trying to think of ways to use it all up before they go bad. That would not be an appealing thing to do. Therefore, it would make sense that chefs want to have freedom, and that involves being able to creative. That all starts with be unrestricted in the choices of ingredients. For Nicklaus, he was not a chef. All he cared about was trying to get this quest over so he can brew s
