[F1-PP] First Steps in Aincrad <The First Lessons>
Nicklaus replied to Nicklaus's topic in Beginner Floors
It was now Nicklaus' turn to try to continue harvesting carrots. He had clearly not been using his own brain as he had forgotten what these orange colour vegetables with a green leaf that were grown in the soil was called. It was carrots. Rebekah had just showed him how to increase the quality of the harvest but taking better care of the harvested carrots instead of him just throwing it into the basket. He will now try that as she was able to get multiple materials from the same harvest. He wondered if that was even possible, but Rebekah had just shown him it can be done. Because of that, -

As soon as they got to the farm, Rebekah took him to the first field that she could find. It was a field full of vegetables that were growing in the ground. He was not the farming expert, Rebekah was. She had always spent a lot of time in the garden when she was younger so she knew exactly where to look and what to look for. However, it did not take an idiot to find out that the plants in this field in front of them was now ready to be harvested. It had looked like no other player had arrived here this morning. Therefore, Rebekah hand him a basket, and Nicklaus began to harvest the crop i -

Nicklaus was glad that he finally receive work for him to do at his shop. He would have to plan to get to it someday. Hopefully, he is willing to try soon. Even at his level, he knew that unique enhancements were very popular, and that was the reason why players would spend a lot of gold to get the perfect set. He watched as her sister continued to fail at foraging. She was so much better last time when she was watching him fish. Maybe it was easier near the ocean. This time, he decided to switch it up. Instead of going for plants, he decided to go for wood. There was a small piece of a l -

After watching her sister get her first material, Nicklaus also thought of this as a race that he wanted to win. After all, it was going to be important for him to try to find a way to get as many materials as possible. He had noticed the selling price of these were normally close to 700 col, so it was worth a lot. Nicklaus knew he needed to go back to work to ensure he was finding these materials. The question from Rebekah made him pause and think about his decision. "Do you recommend any guilds? I would love to try to get some of the guild buffs to make my profession become a lot easier -

"The last few weeks have been amazing. Since I have not done anything since the game began, being able to be a part of the in game community have been awesome. In addition, I have managed to learn about two skills." Nicklaus said. He had enjoyed being active and trying his hardest to level up as fast as he could. He knew that it will take some time for him to get to level cap for those sweet and amazing weapons. However, before that occurred he knew that he should appreciate this grind to the very top. As Nicklaus continued to walk around looking for the next material, he knew that Rebeka -

It was now time for Nicklaus' turn to search. Rebekah had been right. Since he was a merchant he would get a source of items that players would want him to identify. Given the volume of junk items there are, he should be able to find something from the scrap bin that would help him once he was strong enough. There was no immediate need to purchase anything until that vital promotion to level 31 once he gained enough experience. Rebekah had lead him towards the forest where they can begin searching for rare materials. It was at that moment Snowball had taken off, finally given some space t -

Nicklaus was listening to Rebekah speak on how he should conserve his col until the real important weapons when he reached level 31. She tried to explain to him that because of the level cap, they would essentially be stuck on tier four for quite a while, meaning there was no need at the moment for stronger equipment. Now that Nicklaus had finally arrived at Zackariah's shop. He walked in waiting to talk to him about the quest. However, the moment he walked in, he heard a voice, "Sorry. We are closed. We have run out of materials. We are not taking any more orders." Zackariah said. " -

They had finally found Dorian, the mayor of the town of beginnings. He was standing near the cabbage cart that Rebekah had described earlier. It was the only cabbage cart inside the entire city. At this moment, Nicklaus began speaking with Dorian to officially begin the quest. Dorian was trying to explain that he was trying to find out who had owed him money, and asked him to find Zackariah. Nicklaus then asked, "Do you know where I can find him?" It had taken a bit more dialogue as Dorian continued to speak. It was at this point when Nicklaus' map had updated to indicate that Zackar -

Rebekah decided to lead him towards a restaurant along the way, it was serving brunch at the moment. This was exactly what he was looking for, he wanted breakfast food and not a full on entree. A breakfast to fill him up for the day. As Nicklaus sat down, he was wondering what to eat. He looked at the menu and decided to order the standard breakfast consisting of two eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns and toast with coffee. This was the typical breakfast menu that he would eat at most places. As they waited for their food to arrive, he decided to ask Rebekah a few more questions about life in A -

It had taken a while but Nicklaus finally saw the pink hair girl with her snowy owl step out onto the town plaza on the first floor situated in the town of beginnings. It was a lot busier than it had once been, given that Nicklaus had arrived at this very plaza very early to avoid the traffic and the hoard of people. Rebekah on the other hand had taken her sweet time to get ready given the length of time from her reply to her arrival. "What had taken you so long?" Nicklaus began to inquire. He listened to Rebekah's response and it was the typical thing a girl would answer to being la -
Nicklaus had woken up this morning, and he knew he needed to learn more about the game. So far, he had worked hard and had learned obtain two professions, appraiser and fishing. However, he had not learned about any of the other skills necessary to survive in this game. Therefore, he decided it would be important for him to learn about how to forage. He knew this was one of the first quests that he had not yet attempted in his time in Aincrad. Therefore, he knew he should get started on it right now, given that the rewards were very good. It would allow him the opportunity to earn healing poti

[F1-PP] A Fishy Situation <Earning a Living: Fisher>
Nicklaus replied to Nicklaus's topic in Beginner Floors
Luckily, Anthony's hut was not too far. Nicklaus began to pack up all of his stuff by storing it back in his inventory. Cleaning up in Aincrad was so much easier than in real life. All he had to do was press a few buttons and all of his stuff had already returned back to his inventory. There was no need to fold or carry the stuff anywhere. As they approach his small shack, Nicklaus had the gleaming scale ready and the bless bait so he can return it back to him. "It took me a while but I finally caught a scale." Nicklaus said as he showed it to the blonde NPC. "Yes, congratulations. Y -

Nicklaus was a bit surprised when Rebekah began describing one of her favourite boss raids experiences. He wondered if she was exciting because of the rewards or if she was excited because of the experience of participating in one. He had experiences in the real world as a guild in massively multiple online role playing games. However, the ability to experience it in virtual reality would be completely different. He was surprised that Rebekah was not scared during the entire situation. Therefore he had asked a follow up question to her sister, "Did you enjoy it because of the people who y -

Nicklaus knew that he cannot give up. He took a look at her sister. She was determined to keep going, and she was the one that was expending the energy to actively look for rare items. He continued to sit in his chair while reading a book waiting for a line to pull. He wondered if there were even any fish here located very close to the shore. He knew the answer was yes, since he had been successful at fishing, just not successful at catching the rare object that he had came all this way for. He was trying to think about if he had missed any of the instructions that were provided. Therefor -

It was now time for Nicklaus to continue trying. One of the things he had learned so far in life was that if he could not succeed immediately, then he should keep trying. There was nothing else he could do other than making sure that there was enough bait. He did agree that he was in a good enough location to catch stuff, just not the ultra rare gleaming scales that was advertised by Anthony at the begging of this quest. He knew that eventually he would catch one, he just needed to show some more patience while waiting. That was what he was not good at but he knew that sometimes he just n -

Nicklaus needed to think of a reason why nothing was working. He was thinking whether or not he should move to a new spot or continue to stay at this spot to tough it out and hopefully wait for the moment that a scale can be caught via fishing. "Nothing is happening so far. I have only caught a few materials incidentally. Rebekah, what do you think? Should I move to another spot, or should I stay here and wait?" Normally, Nicklaus was able to make decisions in an instant but this was one of the rare times that it was better to have Rebekah's opinion to weight in since she has more experie -

Nicklaus had heard the owl, Snowball trying to Rebekah something. The owl was glancing at his direction and pointing towards him. He did not know what was up. A few seconds later, her sister had recommended she recast the fishing line with a new bless bait. It was a good idea because nothing else had worked, so he did not see the harm in trying. He reeled up the line and applied some new bait. Nothing was going well today so he hoped this would work. After applying the bait, he recasted the swimming rod into the water once again, and began to wait. Meanwhile, Snowball flew in front of him -

Rebekah had said exactly what he was thinking perfectly. As family, they should be able to help each other first before helping any other people. After all, family should always come first. She had also known him way too well. It was a lucky coincidence that they had picked different secondary professions, after all, she would not have known he was at the docks today. And today was the first day Nicklaus had met Rebekah back on this floor. It was going to take some time to adjust having family members around after being so independent for so long. What Rebekah had said was true. None of w -

Nicklaus had thought. Did he make the wrong decision. So far, her sister had already collected five. He had only managed to fish up two materials so far. This was going a lot worst than he had initially planned. To top it off, she had finished her quest very quickly, after all, she had found the item immediately, and did not waste any time to of her day. "I have only fished up two so far. Do you think I made the right choice becoming a fisherman?" Nicklaus asked. She knew that even thought they have not seen each other in seven years, Rebekah knew him better than anyone ever did. Now that the owl had finally stopped annoying him, it had decided to fly around scouting for enemies again. Nicklaus can go back to focusing on what he does best. Fishing. So far, he had two attempts to catch the rare gleaming scale, but nothing had showed up yet. He was starting to get restless, but he knew patience was a virtue. He was never the best at this but he needed to find something else to do while he was waiting for his line to pull. All of a sudden, his sister had found something in the sand. A few minutes later, Rebekah had returned to show him the rare silver coin which had -

Nicklaus got really irritated. Oh right, his annoying sister had found one of the most obnoxious pets she could ever find. A flying owl, that was not afraid to get up in his face. To make matters worse, this was an owl that will help her in combat, so it was not afraid of a human. All he needed to do is to stay calm and pretend nothing was going on. He did not want to give in and give Rebekah and her owl the satisfaction. The constant hooting was slowly getting on his nerves. Rebekah then asked him to apologize for that rude statement. However, he has nothing to apologize for. He had spok -

Nicklaus had sat there on the edge of the water as he swung his fishing pole out. Now, it is time for peace and quiet. All he needed was to wait for the fish to bite on his special bait and he would have collected a few materials, and hoping the gleaming scale which was one of the most rare items that can be found in this game. While he was waiting, he watched Rebekah walk around foraging flowers, and other interesting materials nearby. It appears that she had managed to find two materials immediately. He wished he was as lucky as her as she since he has not found anything else. All of a -

"Are you Anthony Gill?" Nicklaus had asked. He was expecting an old guy to be showing him how to fish but it turned out it was a young NPC with blond hair. "Yes, I am. I am sorry to disappoint if you were expecting someone older. There is a special thing called a scale, that can be fished. I will give you this bless bait. It should make fishing a whole lot easier." Anthony responded. The bait had shown up in his inventory. Without taking too much extra time to listen to the NPC talk, Nicklaus headed out towards the water where it was quiet and there was not a lot of players around. A
