I wasn't fast enough to dodge it so I instead countered with a sword skill of my own. "Horizontal!" My glowing sword knocked Kat's away and continued towards her body. HP: 13/15

The stun wore off and I was quick to initiate a counter-attack. "Vertical!" I swung my glowing sword in a vertical strike. HP: 13/15

She was too fast for me and, even though I attempted to dodge, her blade still found its mark, reducing my HP. I tried to counter-attack but I couldn't move. A stun?! HP: 14/15

I caught her blade with my own, before jumping back and readying to attack. "I'll start strong." I thought to myself. I charged my blade and yelled out "Vertical Strike!" I dashed up close to Kat and unleashed my sword skill. I swung my sword down on a diagonal then quickly adjusted my wrist and swung it back up on a diagonal for a second hit. I pressed the accept button. The timer began counting down from 60. Why did I ever agree to this... I unsheathed my <> from my back. I looked down at the streak of black metal forged into the steel of my sword. It really did look cool. I grinned as I took a battle stance with my sword.

I chuckled. "I don't think I'll ever be able to fight you, but whatever. May as well give it a shot."

I felt my face go as red as a tomato as I stood up. "We weren't doing anything like that... I just accidentally knocked into her."

"Uh, Kat... it's nice to see you again and all, but... you do realise that you're on top of me, right?"

After purchasing a Teleport Crystal and some Health Potions, I began to leave the shop. As I walked out of the shop, I wasn't paying attention and accidentally knocked into someone who was trying to enter the shop at the same time. We both fell to the ground and I ended up underneath the person. "Oh, I'm so sorry, uh..." my vision regained focus. My eyes widened with astonishment as I realised who it was. "...Kat?!"

"You won't kick me when I do, will you?" I teased her. I put Kat down, while still making sure I could catch her if she couldn't stand. "You sure you're all right?"

"Not in your current state, you won't." I whispered back. "Besides, I'm just being honest..." As we kept walking, I said something without thinking. "I... I know I'm probably going to die in this world. The chances of someone beating the game are slim, and the chances of me being alive when it happens are even slimmer. I..." I hesitated, then looked Kat in the eyes and continued. "I just don't want to die alone... I've been alone for most of my life and I've had enough. I don't care if I die or not... "Light, strong, funny, cute." I whispered into her ear as we walked. I knew she was probably going to retaliate for saying that, but I said it anyway. After all... I was being honest.

I smirked and chuckled at their remarks. "No biggie, it's not like you're hard to carry. A restaurant does sound nice, though."

Seeing Kat exhausted from the fight, I walked over to her to help. "Put your arm over my shoulder and I'll help you walk." I could understand why she was so exhausted, it had been a tiring fight. I'd even lost my sword in the process.

The time had come, it was my turn to tackle to boss. I held my sword out up above my head. It began to glow blue as it charged, readying for a sword skill. "Sonic Leap!" I dashed at the boss and brought my sword down in a powerful strike. I continued to fight the boss, whittling it's HP down to almost nothing, implementing a few of my beginner sword skills. Everyone was hardly able to defend their selves, I had to finish this quickly. I could combo a string of sword skills together but I doubted I'd be able to pull it off without being interrupted. I started taking out the minions. I attacked with my sword skills: first, Horizontal and then Vertical. A minion charge at me from behind but I turned and hit it with a combo of Slant and Uppercut. I kept my assault going, the minions unable to land a hit on me.

Rage's offer surprised me. He was so considerate even though he'd only just met me. I was about to ask Kat when she said that she was fine with it. "Aw, thanks... that's really nice of you." Though there wasn't much time to think because the boss was now ready to fight. I charged at the minions with Rage while Kat went for the boss.

"Yeah, I guess so. I'm just being paranoid as usual." I couldn't help but smile. I felt a lot safer with Kat around, which in turn made me feel happier.

When I saw the party invite, I glanced at Kat and then back to Rage. Kat knew how I felt about the whole trust thing. Nevertheless, I pressed the accept button, determined to break habit and change how I felt about others. I unsheathed my sword from my back. Unfortunately, I was still stuck with my Beginner Sword. Either way, I was skilled enough to make good use of it even if it wasn't the best weapon. Hopefully I'll find a better weapon soon...

"Don't mind me, I tease everyone about everything." The time had come to start our quest to slay the boss. "I'm ready when you are."

I chuckled. "With the way you're going we wouldn't have to wait very long." I teased her. "Though in all seriousness, I don't mind waiting and I'd be happy to accompany you two."

Yeah, I was told this spot is pretty decent for grinding, so I figured I'd come check it out."

"Sure has been. Nice to see you again, Kat." I turned to the boy next to her. "Hey. What're you doing here?"

"Any view at night is a good view." I stepped out of the darkness as I always do when revealing my presence.
