Eyes followed Alkor as he pushed himself up to a standing position, head remaining unmoving. His thoughts lingered for a moment on what Alkor had called grace and what that meant. More importantly, if it was relevant to his position. Jomei, sadly, was to type to always make amends, if he ever needed to. As far as he knew, however, he had never done anything that would truly require forgiveness. As his head finally turned to match his gaze, he wondered if Alkor's words were meant for Jomei.. or for himself. "Do you feel like you don't deserve forgiveness or something?" he finally said, pa

As far as he could remember, Jomei's never shared two words with Bahr. Been in the same room with him, never did anything to cause him to bat an eye. Apparently did enough with their life to make a dear friend of his happy - at one point at least. These past two conversations where Bahr was a topic made his blood boil, if the scowl Jomei wore on his face didn't make the resentment he held towards the man apparent. From what Jomei made of it, Bahr went from some knight in shining armor, to an overprotective arse, to a withdrawn prick. "What the hell is this guys problem?" the question rhe

A long, drawn out groan rumbled within his throat as he turned his head away from Alkor, as if his head were swiveling on a rusty hinge. "I'd.. rather not talk about it." his voice a little louder than a mutter; sheepish and dismissive, "I lost, pretty badly." Puffing out his cheeks, Jomei let the shame blow out of his body with an exhale before turning back again. "Okay, maybe one of the reasons I came out to talk to you was because we both have that friendship with her in common, now that I think about it. Wanting to know the story behind how you escaped death was just the driving point, I s

Only half of Jomei's sentence hung in the air before Alkor broke into a coughing fit, triggered by the ginger's apparently bad idea to have Lessa explain what happened to Alkor from her point of view. "Yeah, suppose you're right about that. She had enough on her plate, still does probably.. We don't need her reliving that memory if it was that painful to her." Jomei shifted his position, letting one leg fall to the mat, sitting perpendicular to his other leg, with palms pressed into the mat at his sides to support his weight. "She does seem to stress a lot.. Though those that care about others

The question came off as sincere, truly. Jomei cared about Lessa's happiness and truly hoped that-- outside of everything she had told him was eating at her on the inside-- she had something to ground her. In this case that something was a someone. Not someone to rely on for her only source of happiness, just someone to add to it. To amplify it even. Either Jomei was blind to any hints she had dropped in her heavy hearted confession within his townhouse earlier, or this was a whole 'nother level to the pit of Lessa's despair. The answer she had given him was rather long winded, and he fe

It was rather rude to bring up something as such within their first conversation, wasn't it? A soft grunt managed to escape through his pursed lips, "Sorry I.. That probably wasn't right for me to ask about.." Alkor's escape from death seemed much more simple than he had thought, despite being rather tricky in terms of pulling it off. A well timed teleportation crystal at, what would be, the moment of demise saved him from becoming a shattered memory and another name crossed off of the Monument of Life. "I guess I wasn't really thinking straight. Then again, my mind has been a jumbled me

Responding first with a soft, breathy scoff as he let his head gently fall back against the shoji panels encased in darkness behind him. "I'm trying to figure that out myself. Blame it on my curious nature." Turning his chin to face the man, their amber eyes looking over the one who interrupted their nap curiously, the ginger offered a more formal greeting, "Jomei. I'm sorry for disturbing you.. If I knew you were coming here to sleep, I probably would have just stayed back at the dojo." his voice was soft, but a bit sheepish. Not only for disturbing the peace of a man he had only just met, bu

- Baldur's Residence: Valentine's Day Tournament If it weren't for the fact that he had turned to follow Alkor from the main event, he never would have been able to find him amongst the labyrinth of a compound. Crossing over bridges and passing small buildings that mostly looked the same, one could easily get lost if not familiar with Baldur's place of residence. His eyes peered down into a small pond that ran under the bridge he walked across. A small group of Koi fish lingered with minimal motion before frantically scattering at the drop of a fallen leaf into the pool. A hut, very simil

Some fight began to came to a close, fights that were definitely more exciting than his own.. less embarrassing for the loser as well. Jomei almost felt himself sink further into the woodwork he leaned on as he thought about that, head slightly cocking to the side. From the mat, after their fight with Koga had finished, Jomei watched as his blonde haired opponent stepped out and immediately separated themselves from the gathering crowd. Though from just a glance, Jomei was unfamiliar with the man. However, after previously peering at the tournament's brackets, he knew this to be Alkor. N

Jomei had kept a close distance to the Fog after his last attack. It was a dangerous tactic, but could possibly keep him from getting hit from behind or on the approach. At least now, closer to its body, any attacks thrown his way were easily recognized and he could get out of the way fast enough. A wide swing from the Fog sent a long arm barreling in his direction, a dangerous game of jump rope if he had ever seen one. Throwing himself into a handless cartwheel, Jomei flipped over the arm, the dense fog tousling his ginger bangs that hung down towards the ground. The moment Jomei's feet touch

Lips pursed as Koga dug himself deeper and deeper with each thought. Originally, Jomei had literally thought that Koga had gotten his ass handed to him.. but as they tried to explain what actually happened, it sounded like something entirely different had transpired. "Well" the ginger said through a chuckle, stifling deeper laugher, "Who am I to judge? Sounded like a good time." He allowed a bit of the laugh to escape, his own voice bouncing between the tall slate walls that stood tall to their sides. Laughter.. that was probably a much more pleasant sound to hear coming from within the labyri

"Hmmm" Jomei hummed in thought as Koga explained Kasumi a bit better, eyes narrowing as he looked into the invisible space where Koga demonstrated her height. Red hair, five foot and change, didn't ring any bells. Honestly, even if she had shown up, a lot of his attention was on speaking with Lessa after passing off his gift to her. Really, anyone could have walked into that party and he would not have even noticed. A shrug of his shoulders indicated that he did not have an answer for him, "Sorry, I don't think I saw her." "Did she literally kick your ass?" the ginger asked with an

"Thanks" Jomei said to Hirru as healing energy flowed into him, picking his health back up from a dangerous position. On top of the first aid, Jomei's battle healing kicked in, seeing less of an empty health bar made him feel a bit more comfortable. With a groan, the man got back up to his feet. "Right.. not that I know how hard it can hit, I'll be more careful." At least it was only one enemy this time, so even if he got hit hard, there wouldn't be a second attack coming right after. That, and Hirru's healing capabilities, should keep them in a good standing to be able to finish this

It did feel a bit weird to try and pull that card on Koga, egging him on to tell him about this person that played a part in his life. Jomei had only really just met the man, save for a small exchange at his party, and following a rather serious discussion about their failed love lives. But they needed something to break the tension, something to make them both smile, and Jomei's usual go to was a bit of harmless teasing. That, and how could he not follow up on ' I met someone.' Even Koga's reaction to him asking revealed it all, and Jomei could not help but let out another laugh at Koga's gro

"Honestly, you just have to-" Nari had asked Jomei for advice on how to make it to the frontlines. His answer probably wouldn't differ much from anyone else's, but he was more than happy to share some words of wisdom. That is... if she had stuck around to hear the answer. Catching a glimpse of Astreya, she ran off to greet her, most likely to talk about their respective victories. The corner of his lips stretched into a small smirk as he shook his head. "Eh, I'll tell you next time." Probably wouldn't be the last time he'd see her, especially since he figured he would stick around for th

It would seem reminiscing a bit about her life outside of SAO was a bit tough for her, for whatever the reason may be. They all had family and friends on the outside that they missed and wish they could get home to. If this were simply a situation like that, then he knew what Nari was feeling all too well. If it was something more that troubled her as she spoke of her teacher, well, Jomei would not know for sure. "Yeah, I kind of guessed you had some sort of real world training with those moves." he said with a small laugh, hoping it would help pull her out of her bad thoughts "I've neve

The ginger let out a small chuckle as Hirru called for a sword art with the shatter element, followed by a chance of plans to focus on damage. "Or, I could just do both." All of Jomei's technical sword arts did the same amount of damage, on top of the other handy debuffs they placed on his target of choice. Luckily for them, they were also the heaviest hitting attacks he held within his arsenal. It would have made a world of a difference if he had saved his Charge skill for this attack.. but at least he could lay on two devastating attacks in a row before they reset and strategized

Stepping off of the mat and out of the dojo, the ginger let out a heavy sigh once away from the other combatants. Confidence had emptied out of him faster than a bucket with a hole in it. It was a fair fight, and an exciting one at that.. but he hoped to at least make it to the second round. He turned a chin over his shoulder to look at the other combatants, some in particular, before making his way back towards where the spectators were gathered. A face unfamiliar to him, covered in thick facial hair greeted him with a mouth full of noodles. Despite the rough introduction, Jomei offered

"Koga I'm.." he started, an air of silence passes between them as he shook his head, wondering if small words would really make a difference, "I'm so sorry to hear that." Jomei had closed the small distance between himself and Koga before placing a gentle hand on his shoulder. "I'm glad to hear she isn't dead, your sister too of course... But that still doesn't make what happened any less hard to deal with." His gaze trailed off from Koga, keeping to the path before him, unable to stifle a large sigh. Jomei and Telrenya's split definitely wasn't easy, but he could not even imagine how distraug

The sound of metal scraping against the inside of its scabbard seemed to echo out around him as the ginger ripped the darkened steel blade out. Knowing that Hirru had his back, as much as he physically could, was comforting, but was it enough. They both knew the odds were not looking entirely in their favor, especially with only one of them being able to deal damage to this thing. The images of those he cared for, those he deep down felt he had failed, beating this boss would symbolize moving past that. It was that thought of pushing past his failures and using them to grow as a person that ga

For a short moment, the Irishman was unsure his blade would connect. Nari was small and fast, and while Jomei had speed on his side, he was a much larger target. Each of their blades swung towards each other, but seemingly in the last moment, Nari's attack faltered. Jomei's blade continued through, striking her in the side and knocking her off balance. Don't get cocky don't get cocky he said to himself over and over in his mind. The woman was quick to return fire at Jomei, and with a large bound, she managed to leap past Jomei and strike him in the back. He felt the blade crack against h

Lips parted into a slight grimace at Astrya's response, "Sorry. Bad joke on my part." He nodded in agreement with her, "No, you're right.. Being able to be at the front helping everyone is really what its all about. That's the whole reason I had joined the raid party as well. That, and to fight along side my friends. Couldn't be getting left behind by them." He said with a chuckle. Though, he refused to add that most of those same friends who fought with were now gone. He could tell Astrya was determined to make it to the frontlines, and honestly, who was he to try and sway her decision. A smi

That quick reaction time of Nari's allowed her to anticipate Jomei's over head strike. Bobbing and weaving out of the way, the wooden blade passed over Nari's head. Jomei felt his muscles tense as he was quite open for a counter from the woman, but she chose to instead create distance between the two combatants once more. It allowed the ginger to take a quick breath and re-center himself. Who the hell is this girl? Her natural skills are amazing.. A few strands of his ginger hair came free from their confinement behind his head. The orange strands fell in front of his face, swaying in the

Crack! Nari's wooden blade smashed into Jomei's side a she managed to dodge his and open herself up to get past his own defenses. He grimaced, despite feeling nothing more than slight tingling sensation at the point of impact. The pained, grit teeth turned into a grin, "Lucky hit." He reset his form, knocking Nari's blade away and shuffling back towards his starting position. The ginger shifted his grip of the wooden blade, grabbing the handle with both hands and holding it at a slightly askew 45 degree angle. Note to self.. katanas don't work well as rapiers.. Most of his sword skil
