  1. Jomei smiled back at @Krysta "Thank you. It was good to fight by your side." he added with a nod. "I definitely do not think we should underestimate the boss, that's for sure. The idea of elements being at play in some way or another is probable. I feel you can never be too prepared to fight for your life... On the other hand, overthinking this riddle.. if it even is one" Sucking his teeth, he would look back to the words again, "Why give us both a poem, and these symbols?" he would say to himself. Did his statement actually hold any merit with some of the more veteran frontliners? Possi
  2. Before the quartermaster could use that crazy, roulette like skill of his again, Nari had finished them off with a toss of her scythe. Definitely one of the most unorthodox ways he's seen someone utilize a sword art, definitely entertaining. As the image of the pirate vanished with an explosion of pixels, the three were now safe from any additional combat surprises. Jomei's shoulders shifted, as he allowed the tension he was storing to be released, and a soft smile crept onto his face. "Great work, both of you. We really showed them." As Morningstar called out their reward, Jomei took no
  3. The pirates were formidable, but not invincible as opposed to their fearless leader who was now going toe to toe with the new captain of the Duchess Sincere. Jomei traded a couple of blows with the single pirate in front of him, the one thing in his way from helping figure out a way to free themselves from the grip of these pirates. He kept checking over his shoulder to make sure Astralin was holding her own against three of them, to which she seemed to be without issue. Before he knew it, she had unleashed a Sword Art that made the air around them a bit colder. A huff of air that escape
  4. Even though their attacks were landing, and they were dealing some pretty massive damage, the hulking form of the Quartermaster took them without budging. His face twisted between agony, and rage as he stormed towards the ginger, raising the cutlass which, all of a sudden, seemed to have a serrated edge on the blade that he had not noticed before, and cutting down hard into Jomei's shoulder. The ginger rose his sword to defend himself against the damage, and hopefully let his armor absorb a chunk of it, but just as the two blades made contact, the Quartermaster's weapon seemed to pass directly
  5. The room filled up rather quickly. Under normal circumstances, it would be expected and relieving knowing that a large number of players wanted to play a part in taking down the floor boss. However, in this instance, in this small, back room of a shop, it was a bit uncomfortable. Jomei shifted in his seat, straightening out his back and resting an elbow on the back of his chair, opening up his cloak a bit to, hopefully, get a better airflow. Better, but not by much. His eyes scanned the room once more, at the individuals in attendance, almost not recognizing Nari who had changed the color
  6. "I'll help them through on this end, Jomei. You just guide them through. Sound good?" Jomei nodded as he turned his gaze to the wall of impassable stone and rock, as if Lessa could see him. Turning his attention back to the group of trapped men and women, Jomei placed a hand over the opening he had created in the wall. "You heard the lady." Standing once again at the opening to the hole, Adere stood with her head tilted to the side. "Just follow the owl through to the opposite end, and you won't get lost. I'll be right behind you." Either these miners were braver than he'd expect, or the
  7. The ginger hummed, gazing down at the new weapon while rolling it in his palm. He'd lose some of the weapon effects he had grown attached to for the past year... but it wouldn't cause too much harm otherwise. It wasn't until a much larger - much uglier - pirate emerged from below deck, with a large cutlass bearing a striking resemblance to their new weapons, did Jomei finally notice this new weapon meant he also lost his absolute accuracy buff. Now that was a buff he really depended on. "Shit." he cursed to himself under his breath as he created some quickly rose his blade to meet this ne
  8. "Like I always say," Jomei began, shifting his expression from a half frown when Lessa displayed his displeasure in the treatment of the NPCs, "The fact that we care, that we sympathize. Mean's were still human. But sometimes.. we need to tell ourselves to make that switch when we have to. Because it won't always be in our power to save everyone.. As wrong as it may feel" he didn't know how else to word it, and treaded carefully to not sound insincere, "Sometimes they're just programmed that way." Despite how she felt, she seemed genuinely happy and relieved that it was him that was stuck on t
  9. It was about this time on the previous floor - if he could even really use time as an appropriate way to measure nowadays - that his cushy life had shattered, leaving Jomei to attempt to pick up the pieces. When word of a raid team meeting spread, and the impending war against, what one could assume to be, the toughest enemy they would need to face loomed on the horizon like a black storm cloud, slowly drifting into shore. Last time, Jomei did not involve himself, he had other much more personal matters to deal with. Though, while he did not participate in the formal boss fight, Jomei did find
  10. The fight was going rather smoothly. Smoother than he had anticipated. As Nari swapped her attention from the female Boatswain to the other, Jomei did the same, shifting his attention from the one named Amir to Jessamine. Morninstar, on the other hand, continued with an AoE assault, cutting down the health bar of any and all of the pirates who remained. Together, they made quick work of the crew, leaving Jessamine, wounded and alone, but not backing down. Backing off from his assault, Jomei was offered the final hit, the killing blow. It didn't offer him any pleasure, especially being th
  11. Lessa eventually agreed with him regarding the shattered crystals, outwardly at least. Though, in reality, Jomei wasn't entirely sold himself. Were the crystaline structure that much more frangible that the rocky cavern walls themselves? Even when Lessa seemingly moved on and pushed forward, his olive eyes lingered for a moment longer before falling in step with her. While the two's skill lists were absent of the one skill that would have seemed useful in this situation, their respective familiars seemed more than capable of filling in that gap and, hopefully, lead them in the right direc
  12. Jomei looked down at the palm of his hand as Nari plopped the crystal down. The shape and feel of the object all too familiar to him, yet its contents not. A musical number, what he could only assume, created by the small woman herself. "Never realized you had taken up being a Performer.." he spoke with a smile as his eyes shifted from the recording crystal in his hand to Nari's eyes, "Always took you as the Alchemist or Blacksmith type." With a wave of his opposite hand, he would drop the item into empty space before him,, allowing it to be stored within his digital pockets for a later use. "
  13. Getting into a bit more detail about the disastrous cave in, eventually came the topic of how many people were trapped within the caverns. Jomei had anticipated a small handful, perhaps four or five. Any number that Tiberius threw at them would not matter, as they were a precious life to the town and needed to be rescued. Thirty-one. That amount clung to the tension in the air, making it almost difficult to breathe in the moment. The ginger felt his stomach drop, so many people in danger. So many peoples lives now depended on their success. Lucky enough for him, Lessa responded. Said
  14. Without giving them much of a second to breathe, another group of pirate burst out from below the deck of the ship. Two more, simple looking pirates, followed by a man and woman that seemed to hold a bit of importance on the ship. "Now things are looking interesting." the ginger said with a smirk as he huffed a breath of air. Readying his blade, he watched as Nari and Morningstar quickly moved in to intercept. Easily, the two deckhands vanished into a flash of light, while the two boatswains managed to hold their ground against the assault. The female managed to drive their blade into Nari, de
  15. What she said was that she was good. She said it a couple of times actually. Good to leave to library. What she meant, however, was definitely the exact opposite. Probably just telling herself that she's good to go, to fool herself into actually thinking she was good to go. The hand on her shoulder slowly retracted as he brought his arms to cross at his chest. Shifting his weight from one foot to the other, he looked at her with a smirk and a cocked brow, waiting for her to actually show that she was 'good'. Finally tearing her eyes from the pages of a handwritten tome, she grabbed the ginger
  16. Rapiers weren't meant to cut through ropes, especially not ones this thick. Even with his expertise in the weapon, this would take a bit longer than he had anticipated.. and his efforts were not going unnoticed. A few of the pirates, who had turned to watch Loughran approach Yona, had turned back after the ship began to tilt, noticing the ginger was trying to free the captain of the Duchess. "Hey you!" they shouted as they began to approach. Jomei needed to think fast. He needed to hold off the pirates and free Xandis quickly enough so that they could maybe catch Loughran's attention. Th
  17. "I see it." his response was short, and hushed. He didn't want the sound of his voice traveling over the surface of the water, alerting the pirates. At this distance, they really didn't have anything to defend themselves, and he wasn't sure if the sailing vessel had any sort of ranged weaponry they needed to worry about. Luckily enough for them, their guide knew the ins and outs of this ship, including its blind spots. Cautiously, he sailor brought their small boat alongside the ship, making sure not to make any loud splashes as the oars broke the surface of the water. Morningstar was th
  18. Things were not looking good. They had gone from passengers on this journey, to the ones being relied on to save the day within a matter of minutes. The lives of everyone below deck - and possibly a few players - rested on their shoulders. A sudden memory flashed in front of his eyes, fighting off the Night King's army through blood soaked snow as the town that depended on the two for safety burned all around them. His eyes clamped shut for a moment, before the confident, and to him in this moment, calming voice of Lessa chimed in.. snapping him back to reality. His eyes rested on hers, that r
  19. The ginger would pick himself back up to his feet, watching as the blade that had been thrown from his hands disappeared in a flash of white, returning it to his inventory. Shortly after attempts were made to take down the pirate captain and his crew, only diminishing his patience even more, the Captain Xandis of the Duchess would emerge and speak with Loughran themselves. It seemed the only option that Daemon was given was to turn the ship, the crew, and their own being over to the pirate crew. If they obliged, the players could get out of here easily.. but could they truly make that de
  20. The smile Jomei wore as he spoke with Lessa, the two moving towards an open table so they could enjoy their small meal without the need to walk around, suddenly faded as he heard what he could have sworn was cannon fire off in the distance. Was it the sound of continuous fighting between what remained of Landonain forces and the Galteans? Before he could think any further on it, the front of the ship erupted in small splinters of wood. More cannon balls crashed into the ship, the damage causing the ship to slowly tilt into a dive. His eyes began searching the skies for their attackers, while a
  21. She was just playing along with the joke, of course. He had teased her first, and she had followed up, both calling out 'deal breakers' as if they were actually trying to pursue a relationship. The way it so easily left her lips, a quick glance at the expression on her face spelled out that she was just as surprised about it as he was. He laughed, of course, it was a humorous remark after all (and he knew that letting silence hang would only worsen their slight embarrassment) Lucky for him, the long strands of ginger that fell in front of the side of his face so naturally allowed his smile to
  22. Better company. That phrase left his lips rather naturally. Not that he felt it was untrue, rather the contrary. He had been enjoying the blonde's more frequent company more than others as of late. But these lingering feelings were something he tried, albeit loosely, to keep wrapped up for his own, and Lessa's, sake until it felt more appropriate. The gently nudge at his shoulder shifted his attention and gaze from the dull, orange skies to Lessa next to him, to which he smiled softly. His eyes did not stay upon her for long as he turned once again outwards towards the never ending sky.
  23. With a soft chuckle, Jomei responded, "Guess not." This even was not like some gathering at a large hall or location, it took place on a ship.. one that took to the skies rather than the sea to top it off. There really wasn't any sort of turning back from this. Any nerves he had about this night gathered together, creating a small knot that sunk into his stomach as he felt the vessel lurch forward out of the dock. As the orange rays of the sunsetting in the distance washed over the deck of the ship, warming everything it touched, that lurking anxiety seemed to shrivel up. Jomei had seen
  24. Jomei narrowed his gaze at Nari, who seemed a bit fixated on the 'ex' part of his statement. "It was mostly a mutual thing.. did I not mention I was engaged? .. Right, another time." Now wasn't the time to dwell over the past. They had a frantic sailor to find amongst this small, yet still bustling, framework of a harbor. Amongst all the moving parts, eagle-eyed Nari was able to point out a man, standing out on an empty dock, their movements akin to someone not having a good time. And before they knew it, Morningstar and Jomei were fumbling after Nari, who had grabbed their hands and dragged t
  25. Jomei felt his ears run a bit hot, and the skin of his cheeks flush a bit pink. Nari asking about his 'status' with Lessa caught him a bit off guard, as it would for anyone of a bashful nature such as himself. Though, he supposed it shouldn't come as a surprise... should have expected as much since he did ask her to accompany him as his date, platonic or otherwise. Shifting his weight from one foot to another, a closed fist rose to just under his nose, as a means to not only cover his mouth as he cleared his throat - thinking of how to respond - but also to try and hide the blush he wore so ..
