  1. The ginger's fingers thrummed on his knee, from pinky to forefinger, over and over and over. His other hand rest in front of his face, a hooked finger resting against his lower lip. He had said his piece, and did not have much more to add, even with the additional information provided by the other players. Many good points were brought up, many contradicting points, but that was always expected during these meetings. Especially with the vague information given. A couple of comments regarding the corpses on the floor dismissed his own claims that they could reanimate and become additional foes
  2. Jomei's shoulders rose with a shrug, "Eh, I figured if this was just going to be some quick info-gathering quest, then we would probably have enough time to take on the first boss." He would imagine that the fight would not be too difficult either, being the first leg in a multifaceted journey starting on the First Floor of all places. The thought of a low leveled player stumbling upon the cavern on their own, without knowing what they were up against.. No, this game was cruel.. but not that cruel.. right? His expression turned sour for a moment. Retrieving a writing pad from his inv
  3. "Nice one" his attention turning back from his search to the Lessa as she stumbled upon yet another flower. Perhaps their luck was turning around after all. The spark that ignited the confidence deep within him was snuffed out as attention was called to the elephant in the room -or the grove in this instance. It's guardian still lurked within the shadows, watching their every move. If their last attempt proved anything, it was that the creature in Percival's tale was portrayed as a much more lenient soul than they actually were. Lessa and Jomei were probably amongst the few in Aincrad that wou
  4. Typically, music would help Jomei deal with stressful situations such as this. Whether his favorite bands played a private concert through large, circular headphones or his fingers danced along nickel strings, firmly pressing them into the wooden face of the guitar's neck -- any form of music would do. However, he did not have the luxury of popping air pods into his ears. And mum was the word as they crept about the grove once more. So taking out an instrument from his inventory to pluck was out of the question. With lips pressed together, he hummed a quiet tune to himself. O
  5. "Hm.." Jomei pondered his abilities as they crossed the threshold into the grove. It was strange, aside from the obvious, sudden change in the type of tree and flora present within this place, the air felt different as well. Quiet, and peaceful, but a little thick. Like the eye of a raging storm, a short respite with impending danger looming on the horizon in every direction. He enjoyed himself for the time being, for he knew it would not last. "I'm not entirely sure if actual stealth will work in our favor.. since the Guardian seems to know where we are the moment we step foot in here. But ke
  6. "Ah, so I have you to thank as well for this gear." His bowed his head with a respectful nod in Wulfrin's direction, truly thankful that he would not only help out Morningstar, but a player he did not know. "You have my thanks. Seems only right that you'll be the first one to see it in action." "Hmm.." Jomei hummed as Wulfrin recollected what he remembered about the quest. "The keys.. That seems the most logical." He spoke as he stepped quickly around the outer rim of the tree, watching each of his steps carefully as to not get snagged on some bulging root or upturned stone. There, as Wu
  7. The glow from his light source was just enough to see that someone had stopped and was looking up at him, though most of their features were still masked in shadow. His eyes strained as they tried to adjust to the darkness and see just who was peering up at him. There was an air of familiarity to them, but he could not figure it out, especially when looking at their silhouette.. while swinging upside down. He could hear slight muttering, but couldn't make out what they were saying. Perhaps they were trying to formulate a plan to help the ginger down. "It-Its strong web, but should cut eas
  8. Jomei wasn't expecting the accent that coated the woman's words as the words left her red tinted lips. It was soft, smooth, and could potentially be used as a deadly weapon to get whatever she wanted. And the way she presented her.. assets, for a moment he felt a bit of déjà vu. Careful with this one, he thought to himself, don't need another Opal. With a kind smile, he met the woman's hand in greeting, gently taking hers in his own partially gloved hand. "Jomei, its a pleasure to meet you Siren." Another approached them with the intention of speaking with the quest giver that stood idly
  9. "Ah I see." Jomei responded with a nod to how the two were acquainted with one another. Not much of a backstory to it, just a veteran helping a newer player. Didn't really help out with keeping the small talk moving. "Shame she wont be joining us for the raid. Could've used her skills." There was only a short beat of silence before Wulfrin chimed in once more, mentioning the new weapon he wielded. "Yeah. I really owe Star for that one.. All incredible work." He pat a hand on the face of the weapon's housing. "Well, I'm a Performer.. but I'm not a crafter. I don't have songs to provide, so I wa
  10. Jomei the emerald duelist For a floating castle, Aincrad had a lot of floors that were underground-based. Or, perhaps, he had just been finding himself frequenting these cavernous environments. Definitely not on purpose. For a ginger who was allergic to the sun, he would definitely prefer it over these cramped labyrinths of caverns and tunnels. The Underdark, however, was a whole monster on its own. Not only did the tunnels feel even smaller, and the air felt heavier to pull into your lungs, but it was pitch black. Without a
  11. If it weren't for the mention of his name before all else, Jomei might have drawn his sword on the figure as they approached. Dressed akin to a highway man NPC that would shake down newbie players for the little bit of col they had. However, it turned out to be the player he had been waiting for. "Aye, suppose that makes you Wulfrin." A hand came up to properly greet the man with a handshake, if he would accept. "I suppose congratulations are in order." the ginger started, as he pulled at the cloak on his shoulder and adjusted the rapier-violin housed on his hip. "I didn't have the oppo
  12. Jomei the emerald duelist Whispers floated around the interior of the Hollow Pumpkin inn, a tavern that seemed to change its name and motif every couple of months to fit the season. What was once called A Cup of Sunshine now sported carved pumpkins, their toothy, smiling expressions illuminated by the flames of a candle housed within. The menu switched out as well, which was more exciting to some than the sudden change in nomenclature. Jomei stood at the long, dark stained wood counter, one foot on the leg of the stool behind him. He traced th
  13. "Yo, Mac!" Jomei would offer a casual wave to his old friend as he entered his shop, "Good to see you." Stepping up to the simple wooden counter, he would lean one arm on its surface as he summoned his inventory menu with the other. "I hate to come see you with just business, but thought you could help me out with a little back up weapon" From his inventory, he would pull three rapiers and set them on the counter, along with two Gleaming Scales, and a Demonic Shard. "This should be everything, just let me know what I owe you for the work." 2 Gleaming Scales + 1 Demonic Shard sent
  14. Jomei the emerald duelist The sand of the hourglass slowly fell, and with it their blades would rise once more against one of Aincrad's floor bosses. As always, the uncertainty of what horrors lurked in the shadows that Freyd had mentioned left the frontliners with an anxious pit in their guts. No one ever said it, but they definitely all thought it - it could be their last fight. That was why they needed to prepare, together as a united front, and on their own. And that was exactly what Jomei was doing, seeking out quests he had yet to

  17. "Always a pleasure, my friend." he would say in response to Koga, the warmth of his smile matching the salty, always-summer air. "Beautiful setting for a wedding there, sad to have missed it.. Actually, now that I think about it, don't think I've ever been to a wedding here." He pondered on the past years - or however long it had really been - trying to remember any semblance of a wedding. He had crashed one.. an open door celebration of two players he had never even met before. So he didn't really count that time. "Something to look forward to then, yeah?" his smile returning once more.
  18. Jomei the emerald duelist A raid meeting didn't seem like the most ideal destination for a honeymoon. Even for an after party it seemed a tad bit foreboding. It would be the last thing he would even want to think about following such a joyous occasion. Interesting times called for interesting measures, though. And in lieu of the disillusive wine and spirits consumed during the reception, the adrenaline rush from the impending doom of a boss fight was the next best high you could get. Jomei had not been invited to partake in the fe
  19. "You've got that right!" Jomei shouted after Koga as he laid on the finishing touches of his attack. His boots would hit the ground, dust and dirt scattering at the force of his drop. With a few, quick retreating steps back, he would return to his comrades' sides.. a safer place to stand than on his own against a creature as large as this. Though, with the rate they were going, they would be finished with this boss before any of them even took any damage. Hitting tough monsters with friends.. he missed this. "I've got to meet me someone who can cook a good meal. Been spending too much co
  20. "Hah!" Jomei barked a small laugh. The image of him as a therapist alone was enough to tickle him. Though.. the more he thought about it, he did find himself ending up these situations.. lending an ear to all of those friends who need someone to talk it out with. Maybe it was a living he could make, but probably not one that he could do all the time. "I'll send you my bill" he would say with a wink, "Hey, I've got to make some money somehow. Not like I'm making a fortune off of writing songs." Lifting his can once more, he would swirl the contents within before raising it to his lips for a swi
  21. Jomei the emerald duelist "Christ.." the ginger mumbled to himself under his breath, as the back of his gloved hand wiped away the sweat accumulating at his forehead, "This floor is hotter than I remembered.." A river of bubbling lava cut its way through the vast, dead plains of the ninth floor not even a mile off from where he walked. Each step he took towards the destination ahead brought with it the small fear that the soles of his boots would melt right off. Jomei had left his signature green cloak safely within his inventory, hopin
  22. The ginger knew that this undertaking for the next floor boss would not be simple, and would require him to actually do some research and shopping after what felt like so long. He felt as thought he had only just got his hands on the unique weapons and armor that were crucial to his build.. and how he would be swapping them out for something more helpful. But that would not be enough, he would need to actually grab some consumables as well. Stumbling upon the kitchen out in the wild, he saw the player preparing multiple food items under a canopy of green leaves. "Interesting place to set

  24. The ground rumbled as The Ancient stepped forth, rising to its full, towering height as the four players drew its aggression. "Woah, big boy" Jomei spoke, whistling in awe at the monstrous size of the field boss. Everyone seemed fairly confident in their ability to fell the boss, including Mina who had apparently taken on this beast before. Jomei would have remembered if he fought something this large before, but then again.. there was still so much of Aincrad he hadn't seen - so many quests and monsters that he simply ignored. Now was as good a time as any to experience those dangers fi
