  1. Emerath hadn't actually meant to surprise Flints, as she yelped and he found her suddenly flailing wildly, before she grabbed onto him. Emerath might not have been as bad off if the flailing hadn't been accompanied by a hard headbutt to his forehead, which made his grip slip on the branch he was on, though he managed to keep a hold of it with his fingertips. And so they hung there, Emerath a bit dazed and dizzy from the headbutt, hanging from a branch, and Flints hanging off him so that she could keep her balance. He could feel her heart racing, and he wished that he wasn't in the position he
  2. Emerath had almost reached the top of the tree when he had heard Flints make a bit more commotion than usual below him. As he started for the next branch, he looked down to see her slip, and begin to fall down the tree. Instinctively, Emerath let out a gasp, and then began to hop nimbly from branch to branch, swinging along them towards her, hoping that maybe he could catch her, despite that she was so far below him and moving fast. But, he had to try. He grunted with each branch, but she had managed to catch herself, seemingly only barely, on a branch before hitting the ground hard. He breath
  3. Emerath looked down at Flints as he climbed, just in time to see her flash him a beautiful smile. He blinked at her a moment, as he held onto the branch above him, hanging down like a dapper monkey. The smile made his heart melt a bit, as she then continued into yet another compliment. He just stared at her for a moment, not really thinking about the fact that he was hanging high up in a tree from a branch, as he tried to find words of response. Finally he said, "You have an absolutely beautiful smile, mi'lady. And no... you aren't any trouble at all! I have enjoyed your company, and if I didn

  5. Emerath had learned in his previous crafting day the art of making a potion that specialized in enhancing his desire to craft, and would most likely do the same for any other crafter who drank it. He was a bit selfish this time around, wanting to put as much of his focus on possible as maximizing his own crafts rather than making money. Besides, it had been quite a bit of time since he had gotten any customers, and pushing for products in his storefront was what he would need to do if he actually wanted to get the customers involved. As such, he went into his lab, his Renewed Inspiration in hi

  7. Before Emerath knew it, he had been launched into the tree at a rapid speed, and he had only just managed to grab onto one of the branches as he came back down and swung up onto it. He was a bit breathless from the sudden ascent, as he looked down at Flints, steadying his heart rate. He frowned at her again as she commented on him being adorable, "I'm starting to think you won't be happy until my cheeks are dyed a permanent shade of red, mi'lady." He continued to climb the trees, deciding whether or not to acknowledge her comment about him hooting and flapping his arms. It would make him feel
  8. Emerath had started to climb the tree, but was stopped by a hand on his shoulder as Flints talked to him. He slid back down from what little progress he had made in the short time and looked over at her as she went off on her little tangent. "Admittedly, I don't know a ton about owls except what you see in cartoons or movies. I just know I like the way they look and act, and I think a barn owl looks both menacing and adorable, somehow at the same time." As she tapped the back of his knee, he blinked at her as she held her hand out before realizing that she wanted to give him a boost. He blushe
  9. Emerath sighed a bit, as he adjusted his monacle and smoothed out the wrinkles in his suit as he recovered a bit from the experience that he had just gone through. He shook his head and smiled at Flints as he said, "Well, at least now I know they exist. I'm not sure I would've actually been happy with a jackalope anyway. I think an owl would certainly suit me better, and hopefully we can actually find one of those." He pulled the rabbits foot back out and looked at it, "At least I'll have something to remember this story by, so thanks to Antillian for that." He patted the wolf on the head agai

  11. Emerath had no time to react. Everything had happened so fast. As soon as he started to go after the jackalope he saw Antillian leap out of the corner of his eye and he beat Emerath to the punch, suddenly devouring the poor jackalope whole. Emerath just stood, watching the scene in awed horror. "W-what...." was all he managed to utter as Antillian came over and dropped the rabbits foot at his feet. Emerath stared at it in shock for a moment, looking at it and back to the horns as they burst into pixels and then back to the rabbit's foot, which seemed to be a real item. Finally, Emerath bent ov
  12. Emerath was satisfied with the way things were going in his shop, in terms of crafting at least. After returning from his most recent Earning a Living quest, he was satisfied with the results and was ready to craft the night away. As such, he started up the burners and set to work. His notes were pretty thorough at this point, and while getting the actual recipe down was a bit of a challenge (as evidenced by the occasional failure) success was all coming together. He even managed to make a brand new potion he had never made before! He was rather excited about that one. *** Daily Crafts **
  13. Emerath stared at Flints as she showed off a bit, "You know, that's exactly what I meant." He sighed and blushed a bit when she said he looked graceful, trying not to think too much about her staring at him as he climbed awkwardly up a tree. That was when Emerath heard a bit of a scratching inside the tree. Emerath looked confused for a moment, before he said, "Shh... I hear something..." in a low whisper. He put his ear to the trunk. He heard what sounded like scratching inside of the tree. Emerath tried to find a hole in the trunk, as she had mentioned, but he couldn't see anything. That and
  14. Emerath turned to Flints with a frown. He didn't like where she was going with this, and her innocent smile just made him frown even harder. He gave her a "Hmph." as he put his hands on the tree and began to climb up, using the natural indentations in the bark as handholds and footholds, until he made it far enough to grab a branch. He pulled himself up onto the branch he grabbed onto, knocking snow onto the ground below. He crouched on the branch and leaned against the tree, a bit out of breath from the exertion of the climbing. He looked down at Flints and sighed, "How do you make this stuff
  15. As Flints spoke about looking to the sky, Emerath hadn't really considered the fact that he was still subconsciously looking for a jackalope. She was right though, and he bristled a bit that he hadn't thought of it himself. He turned to her and said, "Alright then, I suppose I'll have to do that." He wasn't entirely sure about the idea of actually getting in a tree, but he supposed that it'd be a better vantage point at least. The good thing about this floor is that it wasn't a snowy forest, and the trees were fairly spread out, so if he got up high he could probably see for quite a ways. "Alr
  16. Emerath blushed a bit at her compliment as well as her calling him master. It was an odd thing, but also oddly satisfying. Emerath shook his head and as he caught up to Flints he said, "Well, I wouldn't kill the thing unless I planned on using it, at least if I were hunting in real life. I think that's some sort of rule for hunting. Unfortunately I never done that in real life. This might be the closest to doing it ever." He shrugged and walked ahead, continuing to scan the area for any tracks or movement, checking the occasional bush. "I could have an artisan make it into a nice trinket to fi
  17. Emerath shook his head at her retort and said, "Well, no, we have plenty of things in common. But just as many things we don't." He had meant to fluster Flints. It was funny to see her react like that, though he hadn't really intended to push the envelope on it any. Emerath considered the idea that a jackalope might be good luck, as he trudged through the snow. "Hm, so does that mean that if we catch one I should cut off its foot and have a lucky rabbit's foot? Then I wouldn't have to worry about only having good luck for a year. I could have good luck for the rest of my life!"
  18. Emerath stared at Flints as she spoke and he followed along towards the outskirts of the city where they all lived on the fourth floor. She was acting odd, and Emerath was chocking it up to the wolfalope. He shrugged and decided it better to play along as he said, "I suppose that's true. I do get lonely when you're not around. Knowing you're only just next door, sleeping with someone who looks exactly like me." He winked at her playfully, "Though really, an owl wouldn't be quite as good company as you would be, I think I can make do." Emerath then looked around a bit, continuing with a final c
  19. Emerath frowned, both at her calling him jealous and at her usage of his real name. "Hmph." was all he managed as he walked out the door into the cold. He was used to it at this point, having lived on this floor for roughly a month now. It had taken quite a bit of adjustment, but walking outside didn't cause him to freeze up like a Popsicle at least. He still felt a bit of a shiver run up his spine from the sudden temperature change, but that couldn't really be helped. He turned and waited for Flints to exit his shop behind him, before pulling out a set of keys and locking the door. "Alright t
  20. Emerath had successfully helped Flints find herself a wolf, and now the two had been practically inseparable. Although they were laying together on the rug of Emerath's shop in front of the fireplace, and he wasn't sure why. "You realize that you have to show him the wolf eventually, right?" Emerath asked her, his arms crossed and foot tapping as he looked down at the two. "Why are you hiding in my shop anyway? You should've taken the wolf straight to him." Emerath shook his head, he hadn't been able to get any work done with these two lounging around on his floor. They were lucky he hadn't go

  22. Emerath was satisfied with yesterday's success, and took that good feeling going into today. He walked into his lab, his head held high, and he pulled up his notes from the previous success. The potion he needed to make now was of a similar quality and type, but the buffs it provided were different, so he'd still have to experiment a bit. Thankfully, his previous success seemed to pay off as he found himself blowing through items, making a few decent quality potions and then finally the perfect potion that he had been looking for. He did a jump for joy as he got the success he needed, and desp

  24. Emerath wasn't making as much progress as he would've hoped the past few days since receiving the order. He really wanted to make sure that he was even capable of making these potions, especially if they would be on demand. Emerath got to work in his lab for the next day, and the day seemed to initially not as good as he would've hoped, especially after a potion or two ended up blowing up in his face and sending smoke throughout the lab. He had even managed to drop a few bottles as he cursed at himself for doing so. But, it seemed to all be worth it. Finally, Emerath made one of the potions he
  25. Emerath sat in his shop going over his notes for quite some time. He had gotten close yesterday, but he hadn't achieved the desired results, and he wasn't entirely sure on how to reach his goal. He decided to try to build on what he knew, but this ended up backfiring more often than not, and didn't really produce any better results than the day before. In fact, things had gotten worse! Emerath did take solace in the fact that he ranked up, however. And tomorrow would be another day. Perhaps the extra craft could help him achieve the desired results? Third Time's a Charm?
