Shard

Reiji "Shard" Smith is what is known as a "Halfu", one born from a Japanese parent and a foreigner. In Shard's case, his father is an American soldier stationed in Japan, who had met this mother while she worked at a store near his father's base. Fast forward twenty years, a messy divorce, and a few years spent living in the states, and we meet Shard as a eighteen year old, returning to Japan for the first time in years to start his university life. Shard himself could be described as misunderstood, annoyed, and well meaning. From his father's side of the family, Shard's appearance is one of a hardened background. His body is lean and lengthy, almost 200cm's tall. His skin is a deep tan, as if he was born and raised to toil under the sun. His eyes sharp, and piercing; what's known as "sanpaku" in Japanese culture.
