  1. @Kairi The wind whistled through the trees, as if announcing the start of Hakai's hunt. She was leaned up against a tree, the bark gently digging into her back as she took in her surroundings. Srona, one of the five territories of the twenty seventh floor, was the area with the largest forests on the floor, and the easiest enemies to farm. As an appraiser she was in constant need of more money and items, leading her to spend the majority of her free time running around Aincrad looking for treasure. It was a solitary life, but she definitely didn't mind. Other players always seemed to find

  3. Treasure. It came in many forms, gold, jewels, famous artwork and intricately crafted weapons. It came in many forms, but all of those forms had one thing in common. Hakai wanted them. She smirked, briefly imagining herself sleeping on a giant mound of money like some kind of mythical dragon. Hakai was a snake and she knew it, and what snake didnt dream of ascending to become a dragon? She would have the rest of the people playing this game eating out of her hand in no time. She unsheathed her sword, eyes glancing over the shimmering metal as she inspected it. It was nothing compared to her fo

  6. Hakai meandered around outside of the artisan's shop, contemplating whether or not she wanted to pull the trigger on the item she had been wanting. Screw it, she wanted to farm more efficiently, the investment now would pay off for sure later. She opened the door gently, wandering up to the counter. "Hello crafter lady. Can I get you to make me a necklace?" She pulled out a wrinkled scrap of paper where she had scrawled down her order and placed it on the counter in front of her. "Feel free to take some creative liberties, I really just want the enhancements right." She glanced back over the p

  9. Hakai walked into the back of her shop, opening a cabinet and pulling out the only armor she had kept from the day before, as well as the four unidentified items she had looted from her last trip. Her goal for the day was to appraise a decent piece of cloth armor and some kind of katana without bleed which she could use instead of her main weapon. She frowned, looking over the padded jacket she had managed to appraise the day before. She loved how it looked, but the enhancements sucked. She carefully rerolled one slot, landing on the stat that she had wanted in the first place. Okay, this wasn
  10. Another day, another col. Hakai unlocked and opened the door to her shop. She hadn't been around in a while, having been busy with other things. She was ready to start making some serious money now though, and the first step was to attempt to identify some decent gear for herself. Her last hunt had ended with meh loot, but enough for her to get started. Four perfect cloth armors, all set for her to identify. She went through them one by one, inspectin each one carefully, revealing their secrets. And... A bunch of trash. They were all terrible enhancements, and three out of the four had no chan

  12. ID: 242985 | LD: 13+8 = 21 | Dungeon found, using blank dungeon map : <<[T4] Dungeon Map #242985>> Finally, after what seemed like eternity, Hakai caught a glimpse of something strange in the shadows of the brush. She made her way over, carefully peeling back the brush and leaves to reveal what seemed to be a narrow stone passage lit by torches. It was cleverly hidden behind a dirt mound and covered over by bushes, the grey of the stone covered in dirt and vines. She pulled out her blank dungeon map, glad that she had come out here prepared. It had taken forever, but she had f
  13. It had been an important reminder of how the world worked, and she had probably need that. Never help anyone unless you were ready to lose something important. Everyone was out for themselves, even if everyone could win, it was human nature to want to be the only winner. That would be her this time around. She would take everything she could from everyone. She would keep taking and taking until she couldnt take any more. Not because she wanted to but because if she didn't it would be taken from her instead. Her snake seemed to sense her agitation, tightening its coils in a way that almost felt
  14. The grumbling aside the loot she had managed to accumulate after an entire day of hunting was actually surprisingly sizeable. A bunch of weapons and armors to identify and reroll, and maybe even replace the gear she was using currently. She definitely needed some kind of new cloth armor, and maybe some kind of loot enhancement trinket. She was happy with her weapon but maybe she would roll the dice with those ones too. Maybe she would end up with something almost as good as her original weapon. She missed Limbos fang. She had built her entire skillset around it, only to be cheated out of it by
  15. ID: 242983 | CD: 4 | Success! 3/3 Familiar trained! She stumbled along her legs going beyond the point of sore and beginning to feel a little numb. Just then her familiar lit up, signaling that she had successfully trained her familiar. It had only taken an entire day of hiking and fighting and not actually managing to accomplish any of the things she had wanted to. No treasure, no dungeon, just mobs, hiking, and pain. That was a good way to describe the game as a whole. Crappy people, crappy places, crappy fights, crappy loot. Or maybe that was just the mood she was in talking. She'd p
  16. The leaves rustled in the trees above as the wind passed through. Hakai shivered, the water amplifying the cold of the breeze. Even her jacket was soaked and she hadn't brought a change of clothes. It was a frustrating situation to be in. She made a mental note to bring extra supplies in the future, including a change of clothes and some actually tasty food. Her snake familiar slithered around her shoulders uncomfortably, the cold blooded reptile also very unhappy with the situation and was attempting to leech off her bodies warmth. She wished it could find a dungeon with the same degree of e
  17. Yeah, the water was the last straw. She enjoyed hiking but this was a little too much. It had been a ton of work and very little reward, and she hadnt even accomplished what she had set out to do. She decided to try a different route back to the main floor settlement in the hopes that she could succeed in her mission on the way back. She could always teleport, but she only had the one crystal and she wanted to save it for an emergency. She shook the water off her blade and brushed it against some of the grass on the edge of the forest before sheathing it. She made her way into the forest, slip
  18. She gripped onto the slippery rock as she clambered to her feet, now completely soaked. She had been doing this long enough to know her damage, and she knew the bleed effect on her weapon would be enough to finish off the enemies. She grunted and waded the rest of the way through the creek to the other side. It had been going so well, and then the game had decided to ruin everything for her. That seemed to happen a lot, and with things much bigger than just trying to cross a creek. How many people, how many things had been taken from her so far. She was taken out of her thinking by the sound o
  19. Hakai carefully hopped from the first rock to the second, carefully maintaining her balance. Easy. Her legs tensed, and she hopped once more landing squarely onto the next rock. It was apparent that she was significantly more agile than she had thought. Snap! A twig breaking on the edge of the forest drew her attention. Two large wolves prowled out into the open, pacing the riverbank. She turned back to see another duo of wolves on the other side. She was surrounded. Exactly the kind of ambush she had been expecting for the last few hours. It seemed they had been waiting for their moment to st
  20. ID: 242974 | CD: 1 | Success! 2/3 to completion Her brow furrowed as she contemplated the best way to proceed with the river crossing. She was almost tempted to just wade across. The stream wasn't that deep and the current didn't seem that strong. Hopping across on the stones that barely stuck out of the water, their surfaces covered in a sheen of water and slippery slimy algae, seemed like a difficult but worthwhile form of agility training. Maintaining her balance was the key to crossing successfully. One foot in front of the other. She stepped onto the first boulder. This was by far t
  21. There was only so far she was willing to go with an idea without seeing any results. It seemed like her idea that civilization tended to be near water correlating to dungeons appearance rate was absolutely false. There was nothing here but fish, mud, and depression. How realistic. She reached up, rubbing her neck absentmindedly. For whatever reason the motion made her feel more centered. She debated the potential value of continuing the trek down the river or striking out in a random direction. Maybe she could find a crossing of some kind and make her way deeper into the forest. For some reaso
  22. Hakai took a deep breath before releasing a long sigh, letting all of her pent up frustration and stress in one long breath. She still had a long way to go before she was finished for the day. She sorted through her inventory, getting things in order, and glanced over her katana, inspecting for any wear and tear. She thumbed the blade gently, checking for sharpness. Everything seemed to be in order. Now prepped for whatever came next she lowly stood up, groaning from the ache in her legs. She had already walked for what must have been miles, and her feet and legs were feeling the burden. She s
  23. ID: 242973 | LD: 6+6 = 12 fail She frowned, this quest was getting very old. It seemed like her luck wasn't holding out. Normally she would have found something by now, especially with all the points she had funneled into the related skills. She tucked hair behind her ear, grimacing. She was starting to get tired of her monotonous surroundings. She just wanted to be done with this dumb quest that had been going on for far too long. Her frown didn't lessen at all as she took a detour a short ways into the woods, finding a fallen log to take a rest on. She opened her inventory, making a men
  24. She swiped in the air, opening up her inventory and searching for a snack. Mostly bread. She was regretting skimping on her rations right now. It had seemed like such a great deal, the simplest provisions, but now she was craving something tasty. She selected the bread with a long and loud sigh. The fluffy but extremely plain and bland bread would have to do for now. She munched on it as she trekked through the forest, the rumbling in her stomach starting to die down and her ability to focus returning to her. Her hand slowly and gently reached up to stroke her familiar, the serpent hissing hap
  25. ID: 242972 | CD: 2 Failure, req now 1 The sunlight shone across the reflective surface of the water, casting patterns on the river bank. Hakai trudged along, leaving deep boot prints in the silt on mud. Her eyes darted over the tree line, looking for anything out of the ordinary, any sign or mark that might lead her to a dungeon. Some kind of trap door hidden in the brush, or a cave sheltered in the rocks and boulders that dotted the bank on either side. Nothing so far. It seemed like she would have to go further, much further, before coming across one. She brushed her hand across her for
