[BR-F27] Paving the Way to Floor 28 [Team Nari-Lanreth]

Light drawn into darkness cast no shadows in the presence of the Elemental Warlord. Instead, everything traveled back to him, like a river subjugated to flow in reverse. Something had cracked, somewhere in space and time, and the fault lines were shifting rapidly. The room had not shifted, and yet, all of them suddenly had. Where Wushen once floated in the air above them, their best efforts resulting in lunging attacks and charges that buffeted against his scales like water on rock, now their sense of direction was wrong. Wushen was not above them, but below. Or was he within? All ar -
Percival studied the woman with the flaming red hair, allowing Senno to finish her thought before he interjected with one of his own. “We‘re not soldiers,” he stated matter-of-factly. Though his tone suggested that response alone was sufficient, he did eventually continue. “We’re scientists, and carpenters, and smiths, and healers, and we’re not soldiers. We don’t have guards.” He paused, then blew out a long breath. “We’ve never needed them before. Before now, I guess.” Silence filled the massive space for a few seconds, and then Percival added, “Of course I’m upset that it happened, but I do

They yet lived. It was an act nothing short of miraculous, surely, that they could persist in opposition to Wushen. The Dragon could not conceive of a reality where such brazen defiance would happen, and yet, here such a thing unfolded before its very eyes. It was enough to draw Wushen's gaze into focus, to pull the creature backward from liminal infinity and draw its consciousness from the void. For the first time, Wushen opened its maw wide, and a blasphemous sound came forth. It was quiet at first, so much so that if Nari and her compatriots listened even closely, they might not h -

They were all of them persistent. The first failed not once, but twice at holding its attention. Wushen had noted the same shape, that same defiance that burned around the woman. A third time, and it might have glanced her way- if only long enough to put an end to her. But another had stepped forward. And not simply stepped, but dared to utter a challenge to the Elemental Warlord. His words were unintelligible, and ultimately, the Dragon did not care to understand. What it comprehended was motive. Intent was everything, and this newcomer expressed it in no uncertain terms. The -

Flies to honey. They swarmed the beast on wings of hope, seeking freedom. It's demise promised a step closer, and yet, its presence promised death. Existing forever in Paradox was the nature of Wushen, herald of a Promised End. But an End to what? Their struggle would continue if they persisted here. Perhaps they won, and managed to amble forward to another hopeless situation- no. There was nothing to be gained from such an action. Surely, these gnats recognized this? Judging by their continued efforts, Wushen could only conclude that was not the case. They wanted freedom, despi -

They came rushing outwards and around, fleeing beneath its form as if a fly to a beast. It felt contempt as they moved around it, bit at it, gnawed upon its flesh. It felt the contempt shift to frustration - not anger, these things deserved no anger. Frustration as they tried to draw its attention towards them. It could feel the bit of tooth and claw, like insects sliding between its glorious scales. Wushen ignored their cries, their attempts to draw it out. It wanted nothing more than to lash out uncontrollably at the little fleas around its body, but something held it back. It was not -

"It was arson," Percival replied simply. Brienne lifted a hand, as if she might pat down the alchemist's mounting anger. "Percival," she said, "you can't throw an accusation around like that without proof." Percival's brown eyes flashed behind his half-moon spectacles. "Accusation? Proof? I have proof. The entire place reeked of lamp oil." "Could one of your people accidentally knocked a lamp over? The oil is so flammable, and-" "My people are careful." Percival's red-hot fury had cooled into something hard and cold - somehow, that was far scarier. "My people don't just spr

The Ronbaru Roundtable The theater was spectacular. It left no question as to why it was one of the city’s crown jewels, drawing crowds even when no shows performed on-stage. While the library attracted the scholars, the theater seduced the poets, the romantics, the artists, and those who simply felt “found” among the velvet-covered seats. Everything from comedy acts to operas marched across the marquee, and patrons always left feeling just a bit lighter than when they’d entered. Of course, some of that came from the beauty of the building itself. The space was magnificent, with lush carp

The floodgates lay open. Out poured the efforts of the Players who stood valiant on the Frontlines, a torrent of hopes, fears, dreams, and aspirations that flowed into the maw of Oblivion. Wushen stared beyond them. What it wanted, they couldn't possibly give. It felt nothing but fleeting futility, attempts to divert the current course. Pleasure, pain, two sides of a coin with obscure faces, both currency that the beast simply could not differentiate. Would not. Had no desire to. They fell upon him as gnats swarming fruit, drawn in by the overripe and pungent stench of garbage -

Its ruminations were disrupted. The beast could feel them on all sides, but until that precise moment, it had considered them unnecessary to regard. Suddenly, the silence was filled with… noise. Wushen reared its head and its lambent, pupil-less gaze strained in desperation to isolate the source of all of the sound. Myriad faceless vermin swarming beneath it offered distinguishable discord, but one Harpy's shrill cry irritated above the rest. Where until this point nothing had garnered attention, now Wushen glowered directly down at Nari. Power coalesced around the Avatar of Annihil -

They came en masse. Yet another cadre of deluded adventurers, would-be heroes in search of their fairy tale ending. And an ending they would have, though perhaps not the one that fit with their ideal. This group was not so loud as one of the others, and not quite as troublesome as the last. Still, they were vexing in their own way, and they demanded attention. Wushen passed a silent snort of indignation. The heaviest of sighs heralded a wave of frigid air, a creeping chill that crawled across the skin of those who stood in the presence of the All-Consuming. Its gaze flickered across them -

In the beginning, there was darkness. Nothingness. The void consumed all, and thus in paradoxical creation, it brought all together. From darkness sprang the light, and all things bathed in that radiance took form. Against that unwanted creation, Darkness Raged. That ephemeral hatred gave rise to a blasphemy, a creature that mirrored the elements that sprang forth from the void, a vengeful mockery of the powers that gave life. The origin of life, and it's inevitable end. Wushen, the Warlord of the Elements. Long since sealed, the manner in which his miasma was brought to heel has bee

The cavern falls into silence once more as the last of the words of power, shared by the various city leaders, leaves Hirru’s lips. A moment passes, the anxiety of another incorrect attempt to clear the silent body of Stoneheart out of the way. A thin layer of fog begins to rise from the cracks in the surface, creating a stagnant pool of mist that gathered at the Players’ feet. Slowly, it begins to swirl and flow in the direction of the felled labyrinth boss. As it passes through and around the stone golem, one could almost swear they heard faint, overlapping whispers in a language unkno

The cavern was as silent as a grave. The brave guardian, felled in battle, remained propped in front of the boss room door. Nothing moved. The boss fight will not begin until the room has been accessed. Once the correct action has been taken, the preparation phase will begin. At that point, Players will have approximately 72 hours to make their final preparations. Players may also post their preparations now, and speak/act freely until the door is opened.

The slowly fading screams of a man’s voice as they were tossed over the edge of the ship caught Captain Loughran’s attention. While most of the players saw the threat that the Captain and his crew posed to them and the crew of the Duchess, one female player decided they wanted to continue playing the hero. His features twisted into a face of rage, the sound of each pounding step with his heavy boots bringing with it a fear that he would step right through the deck of the ship. “I guess someone didn’t learn their lesson the first time.” The large Captain would allow the tip of his axe to drag a -

The Pirate master scoffed at the petite, blonde girl's question. "What did Daemon do to me, she asks.." he says to himself before ejecting his arms outwards to either side. "THIS is what Daemon TOOK from me." The pirate continues to scan his surroundings, not looking at the players, or the staff, but the ship itself with a disgusted scowl locked on his face. "They stole my ship, right out of the dock, and turned it into this.. This prudish cruise for the wealthy upper class." that disdain still ringing in their voice, he would spit upon the wooden floorboards at his feet. "Abandoned my -

Act 3R: A Change of Plans | Twilight The players continue to enjoy a night of peace and relaxation upon the deck of the sky ship, as it sails upwards out of the city's airspace and closer to the clouds above - once white and whispy, now dark without the sun's light reflecting off of them. Below the deck, doors swing open as multiple servers emerge holding large trays in their hands. This train of NPCs continues through the lower deck, up the stairs, and to the read end of the ship, where they would begin to set up stations for the party-goers to choose and enjoy their main course for the -

"Chocolate milk?" The woman behind the bar asked, her deep, maroon hair tied into a tight bun on the back of her head. "An.. unusual request, but I can ask the kitchen if we can make that." Even as a virtual entity, usually amongst others with scripted dialogue and actions, she sounded sincere, almost human in her response to, hopefully, fulfill the player's request for a warm mug of chocolate milk. - @Crozeph Act 2: Peaceful, Landonian Skies | Sunset Music continues to play throughout the sky ship, with no visible musicians or source to track it to. Finals: @Lessa vs @NIGHT @Morningstar vs @Astralin ((Permission to use @Baldur to run the tournament has been given by the player)) With the rise of the sun on a new day came the excitement and anticipation of the final rounds of the Valentines Day Tournament. Many players, either past participants who lost their matches, or those completely invested in the sport, had spent the night within Baldur's estate, utilizing the various, spare rooms he had made available for the occasion. As various faces began to emerge from the sleeping chambers, they were greeted with the wafti
