Zombies, and spiders, and staircases; the worst of it was behind them. If NIGHT was willing to vouch for Pinball, Star imagined that nobody else would find it worthwhile to argue. Now, all they had to do was kill the big scary dragon. It slammed into the ground, flinging dirt and dust their way, and causing a mini tremor. "Hm. Bigger than I imagined." Koga and his wolf wasted no time strategizing, instead opting for the no nonsense hit-it-till-it-dies method. Star liked his style and followed in his footsteps (although without a familiar of his own). He bolted forth, speeding around the o

Part I Home is Where the Heart is "So," Willow flipped her hair behind her ears. "What do you think?" Star squinted, humming as if to think. "You know, I kind of miss red." She frowned, and he recognized immediately that it was his cue to end the joke. "Kidding. You look beautiful." He pulled her into a hug, both welcoming her inside and saving her from the heat of the beach. "Really? You don't think black looks silly?" She asked, her voice muffled by his

[PP-F11] Introductions Are in Order
Morningstar replied to Morningstar's topic in Intermediate Floors
Star lifted his gaze from his notebook and pointed his pen to a potted flower by the window. "Look. Blue. Not enough color for you?" He flashed a smile. "Glad you could make it. Honestly, I was surprised you were interested. You seem more like a leader than a follower." "Er," he paused, thinking over his new title. "Star, Morningstar, Stephen, Morning (if you're Freyd), Guy, Dude—anything aside from Master works with me. Make yourself at home." Another face popped into the meeting room shortly after the first. While he knew Wulfrin well, this girl was new to him. She was sweet and po -
Star's list of incomplete quests grew smaller and smaller as the days rolled on. Rumors were plenty of fun, but he couldn't deny that the experience rewards for killing a quest boss were far higher. Lilith had been on his mind for a long time, but he had never gone through with it. It was a long quest, he had heard, and not always a safe one. A new straight sword leaned against his desk, coincidentally perfect for the fight. "Maybe it's time to make the trip after all," he muttered. He stood, collected his weapon, and peeked out of his main floor office. HQ was empty, he thought. Maybe there w

Another new alchemist. Floor 13 was an odd place to setup shop, Star thought. He quite liked Cintamani's location, as well as Kingsley Tea Company's. By no means did Morningstar dislike Breath of Life, he simply found that he was never in the area. He'd never had a reason to visit, until now. Peeking his head into the alchemist's shop, he found himself unpleasantly surprised to see the owner. "Oh shit, it's you," he said, met with the face of Oz. Well, he was there. He wasn't going to leave without buying something. A few mitigation potions would do, he decided. "Tequila. How fun."

[F24 | R2 - Performer] A Familiar Tune | Open
Morningstar replied to Acanthus's topic in Merchants and Shops
Star hadn't gone to a performer's shop in a long time. Actually, the only one he knew of was Nari's, and he wasn't even sure that it was still open for business. Now that he thought about it, he hadn't seen Nari in a good while. Not since they separated at the skyport, he thought. Periods of MIA were not unusual for anyone on the frontlines. Many on the crew came and went as they pleased. Still, he hoped she was okay. He entered "A Familiar Tune," enticed by the musical items inside, and realized that the owner was none other than Acanthus. "Oh, hi," Star stepped out of the door way, imme -

[F22 | R8 Blacksmith] Sentinel Armaments (Open)
Morningstar replied to Wulfrin's topic in Merchants and Shops
"Oh? If you've got the time. I wouldn't want to steal you away from your work. I've got something in mind, though. I'll keep you posted," he watched from afar as Wulfrin put together the two weapons. "Yeah, no worries. Kingsley's setting up a little area in the trading hall as well. He said it's for his 'more experimental brews,' whatever that means. Feel free to decorate, too." Wulfrin presented the new and improved Daywalker, identical to its previous incarnation but with far better stats. It was everything he had hoped for. "Thanks for this. I'll give you a shout soon." -

[F22 | R8 Blacksmith] Sentinel Armaments (Open)
Morningstar replied to Wulfrin's topic in Merchants and Shops
What's this? Another fusion? Unsurprising. Apparently Morningstar was chock-full of them. He entered Sentinel Armaments for the trillionth time and said hello to the newly married blacksmith. "Mornin' chief. Got some work that needs doing, if you've got some time." He plopped down two swords upon the desk. One was called Daywalker, while the other was Concord. "I've had vampire hunting on the brain and thought these guys might come in handy." "What's new? How's the wife? Still living around the corner?" All of the small talk he could muster came out before he finally asked, "you don't hap -
Blue flames spat from Eruda's sword, unlike anything Star had ever seen before. He followed her closely, creating a laughable mimicry with his own sword art. Burn was the secret, the key to melting through the Slime King's many multiplying health bars. It was a shocking realization--not because it was so far fetched, but because it had taken him so long to figure it out. Her fire engulfed the leftmost duplication of the king; his expanded around its twin. They grew hotter, the musty sewer air fueling and sustaining them. Their tank, along with the charring nuisance they had created, kept their

With assistance from his party, his sword came loose. It slid out of the gooey monstrosity covered in a thick layer of slime. Twice in one day was more than he could stand for. He spun to the side, clipping the Slime King once on the arm and then again on the torso. They clashed blades briefly, interrupted by a second abomination. Its arrival was more of an inconvenience than anything. The combination of the slime's lack of brain cells and Raidou and Eruda's incredible hate values made it impossible for them to catch Star while he moved around them. Eruda called to Star and Wulfrin, seemingly

"Astralin, hi—good to see you. Same old, same old," he said, split between many conversations at once. He turned back to the ashen-haired newcomer. "Star, yeah. Short for Morningstar." New faces filtered in, and a few attempts at pulling Morningstar's attention were made; however, he was locked on Arabelle. They held their handshake long enough for it to be considered awkward. Her eyes were stuck to him as though he were an old acquaintance, or perhaps a ghost. He didn't know what to think. "oh, sorry. i've seen you before," she clarified, breaking the tension. "i loved your work."
