Community Poll: Fallen/Holy Rebalance Analysis
Bahr commented on Raidou's blog entry in Current Events
I'm throwing my lot in with Option 2 for the sake of interacting with the poll, but the true answer is we need a combination of changes to truly work out the kinks in the gap between FOLY and DoTs. You can find my more detailed analysis in this Google doc, linked below: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1r92AbUc0xR4lawPuXUYKD3f-vytpU3SAFWEs5c1JlUo/edit?usp=sharing -

As Elora struck the creature's heel, its HP finally reached zero, and its enormous hulking frame crumbled into a smattering of fractal shards. Not long after, panels populated for them both, which had their rewards and earned EXP detailed. The edges of Bahr's lips quirked upward into a faint smirk as he beheld the prize he's sought after - the Essence of Titanium, which would no doubt serve as a useful boon at some point. He hadn't the faintest clue what he'd use the thing on as of yet, but it couldn't hurt to have around. He dismissed the panel a moment later, turning his attention back to hi

No sooner had the annoying catgirl showed Bahr literally everything than she was off to the races and destroying his plants. He couldn't tell if the redness in his cheeks was a result of what he'd just seen, or the rage he felt boiling inside him for the destroy merchandise. Oh, and her claws had ruined what he'd grabbed from her. Perfect. Juuuust perfect. "I need a new cloak, please." "FUCK!" came Bahr's booming retort has his head shot Pinball's way and his shoulders hunched. The dude was just so quiet, Bahr didn't even know he was there. How much of all of that had he seen? "

All Bahr could do was blink. Was this chick for real? Did someone put acid in his coffee? What the fuck was going on here? "First off, stop fucking with the merchandise," he chided, snatching a particularly expensive piece from her clutches. "These are not toys." "Secondly, yes, I'd be glad to make something for you if it gets you the hell out of here." He took a gander at the request form and, despite himself, could see the appeal. Wasn't his sort of style, but he wasn't going to squash anyone's exhibitionist dreams. A pull here, and pluck there, and the piece was made mom

Though the rate at which the creature's HP was draining had slowed, the pace of the battle had not. Having seemingly recovered from its stupor, the gigantic lug now touted its bulbous arm overhead, poised to smack down on the discombobulated Elora. Bahr didn't have the time to get her out of harm's way again, but perhaps be could take a different approach. A better approach, one that left both of them unscathed. "Heads up!" he called out as he blitzed forward, the Warden's arm beginning its descent. Dawn's Demise illuminated with a crimson glow and hummed as it left a red streak in Bahr's

Bahr listened thoughtfully as Morningstar painted the picture of his mentor, and that mentor's path toward determining how to properly judge someone. Everything Morningstar said made sense, on an objective level. And for someone who seemingly had it together like he did, he could only venture a guess as to how competent his mentor must have been. By all accounts, this seemed to be solid advice - yet, Bahr just couldn't seem to get into a headspace where he could apply it fairly to himself. He felt the need to atone, to find redemption. But was this feeling genuine, or another way to fool himse

Elora scored a fine hit against their foe, rewarded with a shower of magma for her efforts. As the creature reeled, Bahr took the small opportunity to scan his HUD and assess the battle's progress. The Titanium Warden had certainly earned its title, as its HP wasn't quick to drain. What was refreshing, however, was watching Elora score hits that rivaled Bahr's in terms of damage output. She was certainly more powerful than her stature would suggest. Bit by bit, they were whittling this thing down, and unless something went drastically wrong their victory seemed all but certain. "Good hit!

"Yeah," came the short reply. "Let's get going." - - - The trek back to Snowfrost was a largely silent one. Sure, they could have used Teleport Crystals, but Bahr appreciated the time to mull over his thoughts. Spending time as a nobody with no memory had illuminated to him the flaws of his previously arrogant demeanor. Why had he fancied himself such an important figure, back then? What had he accomplished that was so grand? Why had he seen himself fit to offer guidance to anyone, when he could hardly guide himself? Why had he allowed his pursuits to so wholly obscure that whic

There was something peculiar about suddenly remembering everything after an extreme bout of amnesia. A sense of perspective most could only daydream about. The ability to regard one's own past through a completely fresh set of eyes, a new lens of subjectivity otherwise impossible. Many people, perhaps even most, might see this as a boon. An opportunity to take stock of their lives like never before. But it could also be a double-edged sword. Bahr couldn't help but feel like there were two of him, now. The fresh slate he'd been once he emerged from that dreadful trap with no memories,

Another order came through, this time digitally. It seemed that, just as things had transpired in the real world, things in Aincrad were going the way of instant messaging and remote correspondence. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing, although Bahr couldn't help but miss the traffic he'd once seen strolling through the neighborhood. Aspiring talent aiming to climb the floating castle. Now so many floors had been unlocked, and the Players so dispersed, that these simple conveniences were simply a matter of course. Nobody was getting any younger in here. A respectable request - the sort of a

A craft request had come in from an unexpected source. Despite their differences, Oscar wasn't someone that Bahr wanted dead, per se. Just someone he wished would get his head out of his own ass. Though, assuredly, he felt the same about Bahr. If not worse. If he was asking for handwraps, there was probably a good reason. Bahr had never known him to dip into a new build type without a reason, and without doing his homework first. For however uninspired accuracy-boosting mitts may have been, no one could argue that they weren't a safe bet. Quality equipment, with a quality name. CRAFT

The sight of Dominic's confident posturing in the midst of their grim surroundings grated on Bahr's nerves. His ostentatious demeanor was a constant reminder of the cult leader's unyielding ego, an ego that had wreaked havoc on countless lives. Lessa's strong and straightforward question regarding Everest was met with Dominic's unsettling theatricality. Bahr's jaw clenched as he watched the exchange, his every muscle urging him to intervene, to express the frustration and anger boiling within him. But he knew that would only give Dominic the reaction he craved. The swordsman's amber eyes,

Upon Ariel forwarding the possibility of moving forward on horseback, Bahr's expression soured (though he attempted to hide it). Memories of attempting to ride a horse with Lessa flashed before his eyes, and so too did the mebarrassment he'd felt at the time. Bahr wasn't the sort to take easily to things he couldn't fully control, and horses seemed to be one of those things. Though, he knew he'd look like a fool explaining that to the others. "Walking sounds good. Going a bit slower and having less to pay attention to will better free us up and catch details we might miss otherwise." A li

"Glad to be joining you on another excursion." It seemed a third had joined the fold. "Hey there! Jade Hunter, Hirru! At your service." Bahr regarded the newcomer with a curt nod. "Bahr, Kingslayer," he replied concisely, though it felt strange to call himself such. When the man offered food, Bahr held out a palm and shook his head. "Much appreciated, but I filled up before I got here. I'll leave these for whoever else might need them." No sooner had the words left his lips than Mina appeared, rounding out their grouping into a solid four. A perfect quartet for labyrinth

Once again, Bahr's nose had carried him to an unfamiliar place. Where food was concerned, he was helpless to fight the temptation. On this particular instance, he'd found himself at a shop that had exactly what he'd been looking for. What a fortuitous circumstance. "I'll take twenty of these ones," he stated greedily, pointing at the Smores. It wasn't clear how the delicious desert sandwiches would boost his Evasion, but he was more than willing to find out. Without another word, Demian would find 10,000 col sent his way to pay for the transaction. Bahr dismissed the transaction panel and

As Bahr ascended the 28th floor, he couldn't help but marvel at the unique environment he found himself in. The moment he stepped off of the teleport pad, he was greeted by an eye-catching bloom of fall colors. The world around him was a captivating display of autumnal beauty. Everywhere he looked, the trees displayed a mesmerizing palette of warm hues. Deep oranges, rich reds, and vibrant yellows adorned the leaves, creating a stunning tapestry that stretched as far as the eye could see. The ground was carpeted with a thick layer of crisp, golden leaves that crunched beneath his boots wi

Before much else happened, her gaze locked onto his eyes, the change in the hue of her complexion and expression catching him off guard. Bahr had grown accustomed to concealing his true feelings, but the way she stared at his altered eyes left him feeling exposed. "Your eyes," she said, tone tinted with disbelief, her own widened orbs betraying a sense of unfamiliarity. Her initial surprise was evident - an understandable reaction. The transformation of his eyes was startling, even for those who knew him well. Bahr blinked, then nodded in understanding. "Oh, that," he replied, trying

Bahr's residence on the tenth floor sat in tranquil isolation, surrounded by the ethereal glow of luminescent flora and the gentle shimmer of crystalline formations. The delicate balance of the underground world made every corner of his property feel like a sanctuary, an oasis of serenity amidst the labyrinthine darkness. The soft babbling of the stream, the comforting radiance of the iridescent crystals, and the faint hum of the glowing plants created a harmonious symphony of peace and calm. Bahr's living room was a cozy retreat within the quiet refuge of his home. The warm glow of the c
