  3. Enough was enough. It was time to end this. Time to identify a blade so holy and magnificent that it was sure to have a name and description like no other. Something like Stormquard Spellblade. Or Spiteblade, Etcher of the West. There was no way in hell that Jackpot could dump nine Mystic Essences into a rapier and have it come out with some basic ass name and description that only seemed to serve the powers that be, who were the ones pulling the strings behind the veil all along. So when he saw it was labeled "Fusion Component," he almost wept.
  4. There will be two parts to this eval, or rather two calendar dates of identifications. The first date had no items to evaluate (all items were junked or melted down into Mystic Essences).   5. There Jackpot stood with yet another pile of rapiers. And just as with the last, most of these ones were useless. Most of them. There was one standout in particular - a golden little thing with a glimmer that seemed otherworldly. Even in the dimly lit cavern in which Jackpot carried out his work, its thin blade refracted light in a multicolored mosaic against the walls. He gave the artifact a few swings, appreciating its balance and the whistle it made while carving through the tepid air.   6. Another day, another gargantuan pile of identifications to sift through. Although it was more work than Jackpot was used to, he was beginning to find that he was stepping back into his old stride. A pile like this would have taken him a considerable length of time to push through only a couple of weeks ago, but now his fingers slid over the artifacts and identified their worth with ease. The vast majority were junk, but occasionally he would find a diamond in the rough. This particular batch had a few, but none that filled the criteria for what the customer was looking for.   8. On of these days, Jackpot would actually be awake when someone strolled into his shop. One of these days, he would learn not to fall asleep leaning over the counter. Were they in the real world, no doubt he'd have developed some serious contortion in his spine which would have perplexed doctors and shamans alike. But here, in his virtual form, he was enabled to fall asleep all manner of ways. One of these days, he would learn better. But that day was not today.
