In Ancient times, purportedly, the god of Abraham and his sons became hideously displeased with his creation. In keeping with his Covenant, he chose a handful of his people and protected them from his wrath. They were instructed to build an Ark. When Alkor glanced up at the looming darkness, he remembered such stories. Clouds unlike anything that he had ever seen stretched out along the firmament and threatened to swallow the horizon whole. The clouds deprived the land of light, instead showering down tangible darkness. He stretched out his hand and cupped his palm, allowing for the

F01/Grandmaster Cook<<Oscar's Hot Dog Stand>> [Open]
Alkor replied to Oscar's topic in Merchants and Shops
A hot dog stand didn't seem like it was the place to go for raid buffs, but here he was. Alkor had to admit that he found some enjoyment in a good ol' fashioned hot dog, and he got hungry just thinking about food. When he saw the myriad hot dogs on display behind the counter, he couldn't help himself. Besides, they were stat enhancers, right? No reason to skimp on anything when it came to staying alive! He pulled the Col out of his inventory and counted out what he needed to make the purchase. With a smile, a nod, and a thank you, he took his hot dogs and went on his way. -
Alkor entered what seemed to be his favorite Alchemist's shop and began perusing her wares again. It seemed like she usually had everything he needed on hand, but today he couldn't find many of the items he was looking for this time. Granted, the quest he was looking to undertake was extremely difficult- to the point where he had only heard a few rumors. There was talk of one Player who had finished it- and whether lucky or unlucky, Alkor knew the guy. He went through the one channel he knew that the other man wouldn't outright ignore to get in contact with him. Once that was done, well,

Alkor walked into Yuki's shop remembering that she had mentioned something about being a cook. This time, he had a grocery list for a Quest that involved another midlevel Player, someone who could weather hits even less well than he did. With that in mind, Alkor sought to extend his own health and longevity as much as possible by seeking out the tools that would both protect him and his ally, and allow them to burn through the dangerous beast more quickly and efficiently. He headed toward the back where the pink haired, energetic tank of a Player seemed busy plying her trade. Alkor raised

Alkor entered this particular alchemist shop, not for the first time. The properitor's wares were field tested, and the black clad swordsman approved completely. So much so that, for the moment, he wouldn't look elsewhere for the items he needed. He browsed the wares on display, but didn't assume that anything there was free to grab. Instead, after he got a pretty good idea what they had up for sale, he headed toward the counter. "Hey there, I'm looking to buy some damage enhancement potions," he told the Player behind the counter. "I've got plenty of Col to spare, so I'll take two i

Alkor had visited this ship before. The item he'd bought, as he recalled, turned out to be of fine quality, and he was eager to find more that would be equally satisfactory. When it came to the frontlines, Alkor had played fast and loose with his health totals more than once. The live fast die hard ideology allowed him to run headlong into danger and deal optimized damage, but eventually, he'd learned how high the cost could really be. So as he looked now for healing salves, potions, and crystals, he bore in mind not only his own well-being, but that of those who he would go into battle a

Alkor entered the alchemist's shop and headed toward the different salves and tinctures, bemused by the way that the game brought the fantasy of potionmaking to life. It was good to see that people found an interest in it, especially when these were the items that chiefly helped people to stay alive. But today, he'd come specifically for Pheromones, an item type that he'd been told would help with finding and taming a familiar. He looked through the salves until he found one that described exactly what he was looking for, and he went to the counter to make his purchase. "Hello, I'd like o

...NIGHT? They'd fought that strange, flaming beast together in the forest, but beyond that they never spoke again. Their meeting had been riddled with issues revolving around another Player and how Alkor had dealt with her harshly, but there was a shaky understanding between them when they parted ways. One portion of that understanding was that Alkor had a remarkable Batman complex. Had, he hoped, as he sought to put it behind him as he moved forward and grew. Of course, the joke was no less amusing now, and he felt the warmth in his cheeks as he recognized the woman behind the coun

He wandered into the Artisan shop that Lessa had recommended absently, uncertain of who or what to expect. She hadn't given him the name of the proprietor, only that she "was a friend" and certainly had the items he'd need. Her endorsement was enough for him. Alkor sorted through his inventory and checked his col, then headed toward the counter. "Hi," he greeted, albeit uncertainly. "I'm looking for some trinkets, one for Accuracy and one to help me when I'm searching for things. I should have plenty of Col to cover them..." @NIGHT

Relationships These are the names of people I've met in Aincrad, as well as a brief description of how I know them. Lessa: I first met her when she was brand new to the game. We were close friends, and then, things got weird. A guy named Daeron got in my face and said Lessa wanted nothing to do with me, and not to go near her. So... after that, we lost touch. Lessa's a weird topic for me. She's a good friend. We've been working on reconciling the things that happened in the past; but some people think there's more to it than that. There's not. Mari: Mari and I met under

This happened an hour or so before I dived. I'm writing this so I don't forget. Time passes outside while we're in this world, and the people we left behind go on without us. That said, we go on without them, too. Only living that reality could have taught me what that really meant to me. This is where my story starts. This is who I was. Who I am. Before the line blurs too much to tell the difference. -Thom The alarm screamed, same as always. Three hours of sleep separated one day from the next, and my bloodshot eyes shot around a pitch black room seeking purchase on realit

"Wh-oah!" He called out in surprise as she hit him, albeit totally on accident. He had picked up his pace when he heard her call out to him, and because the whole building seemed to stir and shift around them, he had no sense of their relative distance. Hissing in pain, the Swordsman staggered backward while clutching his head. "Ow," he mumbled as he slowly focused his eyes on Lessa. "It is you," he said breathlessly. For some reason, he had not expected the woman to run into him. Even less, he did not expect her to call out his name. "Are you alright?" he asked. Alkor held out his h

He heard something, or someone, but could see nothing. It was like he had gone to a new place where everything was relative, but nothing existed for him to cling to. If not for the steely resolve he had to be sure that whoever was within was safe, he would have turned right around. Maybe he was wrong to defy his fear. A sound crept across his ears and he saw something move. Or he thought he saw something move. The senses distorted when the mind was in flux. It was a parallax caused by both the augmented reality and by his own emotions, simply put- his truth was defined by his mind.

He hadn't seen anything like it. Granted, he had a limited experience when it came to the various floors of Aincrad, and other than the hallowed ground of Floor 11 inside the safe zone, nothing quite matched the architecture of this particular building. Even Taft was a far cry from a proper comparison. Alkor moved toward the entrance with his hand outstretched, utilizing his meager investigation skill to see if there was any imminent danger. Before it could sense anything however, he heard the sounds of movement from within. Three distinct voices, but nonsensical sound. It was like t
