Stepping out from Plini's shadow, a second figure emerged and silently started scouring the available goods. This one had definitely been here before and found the store without struggle. The visit was an errand, nothing more, and meant to refill cupboards grown bare since his last appearance. Hands and body veiled in black, the ghost-like figure said nothing as it surveyed the available goods, and was otherwise left alone while it prepared its purchases. The list was long. His sword was hungry, and sated only by risk undertaken in Aincrad's darker and least hospitable corners. Preparati

Purchasing mats as a form of currency exchange, as per: Freyd buys 800*T1 mats (@300 col) from his own shop for 240,000 col
-
Currency exchange had never really been a big priority, but that's what materials really were to a merchant. They couldn't use them in the same manner that other, crafting-focused professions could. Freyd simply watched them pile up in his accounts as a results of loot drops and occasional spent them as a means to get rid of them and buy what he required. He'd never given it much thought. But his recent experiences with Bistro had compelled him to re-evaluate. As a valid and alternate form of currency, materials tended to hold greater purchasing value than straight col. It wouldn't matte

Freyd listened silently to the exchange between Alkor and Setsuna. It was similar to one that had passed over a fishing rod between him and the young woman. She had nudged her course as a result of that discussion: an oath taken and adjusted. The little white wraith considered herself to be a lost cause, and did what she did so that no one else would have to. How often had he used that excuse himself, and still did? "How many of us will be left if we all become martyrs?" It was an open question, not meant for anyone in particular, but had lingered on the edge of his own outlo

Freyd watched from the sidelines, content not to get involved in Setsuna's disputes. They'd expressed their thoughts with each other about the state of players' mindset in the game, and here was not the place or time to re-hash them. Whatever skirmish might have been stoked petered out before it could properly kindle itself. Everyone was turning away and back to their own business, save for the odd dinkler duck dude who seemed to think that a memorial was a good place for mischief and mayhem. His eyes still glued to the script on stone before him, Freyd shifted his stance to encourag

A porcelain tea cup, one of a set perhaps, flipped and spun as it dangled then fell helplessly through the air. Liberated from its bitter contents, made more bearable by addition of another bean, it forgot both flavors what with the sudden and compelling impact of stone on its one side. The cup shattered into a thousand pieces, each one no larger than a pixel, but enough to set everyone on edge, and to distract. When they looked up to find its source, there was nothing. But in the background, a figure in black now stood before the earliest sections of the monument, where the first to fall

“Full commission prices? Really?” His tone was calm, but cold, with a single raised eyebrow offering a token sense of surprise. There were 25 equivalent bottles on the shop shelves that were no different than the ones he had ordered, save that they were all a third of the normal price. The Whisper’s red orbs narrowed at the shopkeeper’s response. The laws of supply and demand governed, of course, and he knew full well how difficult it was to find reliable suppliers. The entire point of coming back here all the time was to leave the guild’s stores intact and available for others to use

Sitting atop the rounded colonnade that surrounded the monument was a figure dressed in black from head to toe. A soft, charcoal-colored cowl draped over his head leaving only a pale chin, nose and the slimmest hint of red eyes exposed. All of him rested in shadows, cast by taller neighboring structures and a selectively chosen time to ensure a bit of privacy as he sipped his steaming cup of tea. Marv must have been busy that morning, or maybe Freyd had other plans in mind. He watched from above as Setsuna reached for the monument, still worried that the girl would break under self-i

Storm clouds gathered outside, driven by winds of inevitable change that rattled the glass and frame relentlessly and howled as the familiar, hooded figure entered the store. He looked dour and soaked, the edges of his eyes just visible below the cowl plastered to his head and dripping in unforgiving plops all over the floor. Freyd was in a foul mood and preoccupied as he entered. Doing his best to keep the water on the mats provided at the entry, he looked oddly like a wet dog trying not to shake out his fur. Eventually, he just gave up and looked at the cupboards, hoping to find stock.

It felt good to fulfill a promise and help out members of the guild at the same time. A few of the newer arrivals had finally finished their professional training and were starting on their crafting careers and development. The original idea had been to provide a bit of incentive, especially for those who hated or were poorly suited to the grind of farming materials or hunting down mobs. The latter was practically cathartic for him, but it felt good to share the wealth. Growing the guild's resources was also eminently practical. Having assembled the necessary goods, he triggered the requi

Freyd breathed in deeply as he entered the shop. "I love coming here. The shelves are always full, and the smell is positively invigorating." The latter might have been done on purpose, but that would only boost his impression of the place. Cintamani's was by far his preferred place to shop. "It seems that I've dwindled my stock once again. Too many quests to be done, I guess." Red eyes scrolled through the available stock from beneath his cowl as he mentally compared it to what he had already gathered by other means. "I'll pay in materials this time, if it's no bother.

A dark clad figure entered the clearing that was currently home to the shop, carrying a thick paper scroll, which he gently placed upon the counter. He seemed not at all surprised to have found it, nor at its temporary state, and was far more absorbed by ensuring that he could find what he sough. Looking around at the various, plentifully stocked crates, bags and barrels around the place, Freyd nodded satisfactorily as his gloved finger slowly made its way down that rather lengthy list. "You're not all that easy to find, but it seems that the effort was worthwhile." Handing over the li

A squat, matronly-looking young woman with tightly-braided coarse blonde hair snagged the assorted items in her beefy arms, her stern, bright green eyes looking @Bahr over as she did so. Her usually bark-laden interactions were subdued by the fact that he had thoughtfully produced the additional items necessary to improve the efficiency of their efforts. "Aye! Good lad! Ye'd be amazed by how many jus' expec' da we'd be de ones t'a source da' stuff." The sheer size of the pile of blades in her hands muffled a thick Scottish accent as she bobbed her way towards the rear of the shop.
