[PP-F24] Weddings on the Beach <<Saying Vows>>
Katoka replied to Wulfrin's topic in Intermediate Floors
"I panicked and ran over ok? I have something in my inventory though just give me sec!" Kat stuck her tongue out at Mina playfully before she slipped away to swap out her clothes. "Just going to pop into your bathroom real quick!" After shutting the door behind her the blonde scrolled through her clothing list frantically before she stopped on something that she thought might work. With a tap her clothes flashed and changed into a black dress that she had picked up on a whim while shopping. "Perfect. I'm glad I grabbed these heels to." Stepping back out to join the others her eyes lit up -

Katoka had just started preparing herself to fall. She had devised a plan, albeit not a great one, just before she felt a different sort of weightlessness engulf her body. Sinking into the darkness triggered a memory of the what happened after the Storm of Shadows, however that feeling subsided when she realized it didn't feel quite the same. When she emerged from the inky black she felt herself gasp for air, as if she had been under water for too long despite not really feeling the need to breath in that space. She turned around quickly and saw that it had been Freyd that had pulled her into

"Right!" she called from the spot that she hung from, "One of my Shazams!" Feeling her grip starting to loosen Katoka placed the handle of her weapon in her mouth, gripping it with her teeth as she used two hands to find a better handhold. With both hands now free it took her very little effort to find a more convenient place to hang from. Gripping a new chunk of rock with her left hand, the samurai withdrew her blade from her mouth and reached deep inside herself, looking for the hunger that paced within. Brushing it ever so slightly with her consciousness she directed it's attention to

"The big leagues are really testing my patience!" Katoka gritted her teeth and adjusted her grip. Her blade began to glow again as her sword art charged, audibly growing louder in her ear. However the sound of rocks grinding and crunching together were much louder. With a shout the samurai rammed her blade into the crack in front of her, sending a shockwave of energy into the stone. The opening grew wider as she jerked her weapon free in a panic, she didn't want the pressure from the creature's body to snap the sword in half. "I'm not a fan of having to climb around this guy like a bunch

Making the realization that she hadn't really introduced herself, the samurai nearly shouted over the people as they spoke in turn, "Ah! Um, I'm Katoka by the way, Kat to most people. I'm a single target DPS!" she looked around nervously before clenching the handkerchief once more, "If this thing gets a huge mitigation boost then should we be adding Phase damage on top of stun related attacks?" Though her knowledge was fairly limited when it came to aspects of the game, Kat had picked up a thing or two in passing. Even though she recommended phase, it wouldn't surprise her if the thing ha

As more and more people began to file in, Katoka felt her anxiety rise more and more. She had felt fine at first, keeping her focus on the few people she knew, but now it was becoming difficult to keep a straight face. She felt her hands tighten on the handkerchief that Freyd had handed her as he called to everyone to take a seat. After a deep breath she glanced down at the piece of cloth in her hand, noticing something embroidered on the edge. Unfolding it were two simple words, "Don't Panic". A small smile pulled at the corners of her mouth and she took a deep breath to calm herself. The samu

When the rumbling began to intensify the samurai's grip tightened and she managed to hold on with every bit of strength she had. Bits of rock and dirt were shaken loose, falling off of Colossus and onto the the players as they managed to cling to it's body. Katoka sputtered, spitting and coughing the sediment that had found its way into her mouth and all over her face. Once the dust seemed to settle the small woman looked up at the crack that had opened up. Seeing Freyd pounding into the fissure, Kat's eyes scanned the area for an opening close to her. Her eyes fell on a similar looking s

After the ceremony Katoka had slipped away into a nearby bathroom to change. While she loved the dress she wore, black and red were not the best colors to be wearing while at the beach. Plus, she wanted to check to be sure her face wasn't too puffy from crying too much. After a few minutes she emerged from the small building in a pair of shorts, a tank top, and a light tropical button up that was left unbuttoned and simply tied just above her stomach. She scanned the sands in search of where she wanted to hang out when she noticed a small group of people forming around Freyd and Wulfrin. Feeli

"I guess we'll see what the future holds huh?" she responded, elbowing Freyd in the ribs. She knew that this was going to be her new burden to bare, but it didn't make her any less warry of the situation. At the sight of inbound produce projectiles Katoka took the hint and vacated the arena. Following her party members she quickened her pace so that she could join the conversation. "Everything alright?" she asked NIGHT, "Freyd is right, it looked like something had you freeze up." Kat didn't know the swordswoman well, hell she could count on one hand the number of interactions they h

Katoka replied to Freyd's topic in Intermediate Floors
Katoka looked away awkwardly at his mention of pain, choosing not to respond but knowing he got the message. "Other than getting bullied in school for a bit there's nit much in terms of a dark and gloomy past." she shrugged, "I hid in my room and put up appearances while absorbing myself in games to distract myself. I don't know if that plays into this or not but it's not something that I keep pushed deep down anymore." It was reassuring to her that Freyd was coming more and more out of his shell, trusting those around him to help carry his burdens so that he didn't have shoulder the -

Katoka replied to Freyd's topic in Intermediate Floors
Stepping back into the room Katoka let out a sigh. "Yeah, all is well. Nothing out of the ordinary anywhere so I think I'm alright. For now." Her gaze fell once again onto the discarded sword on the floor, she had noticed that Freyd had also been glancing in its direction. Gesturing with her hand she opened her game menu and tapped on the icon for the weapon, making it fizzle away from it's location and back to her side. Then swiftly dragged it to her inventory so that it was once again no longer equipped. She hopped that if she remained vigilant, it would remain there. Now that she was certai -

The samurai took her time getting her breathing under control. She felt significantly more safe there with Freyd, but there was still a part of her that kept her heart beating faster than usual. After one final deep breath in and slow out she nodded, letting her brother know that she was fully in control again. "I've always felt excited when fighting, especially once I got to the level I am now. It wasn't anything sociopathic or anything. A good fight would get my blood pumping, the thrill of the hunt and all that." she shook her head. "It just feels so much stronger now." Standing up, K -

The constant whine of psyche induced tinnitus filled Katoka's ears, drowning out any other sound that attempted to slip in. She was having a panic attack, the first one in a long time. Normally she would recognize the symptoms as they creeped their way through her body and she could take the steps she had learned to keep it somewhat under control. This one was different. She looked around the room with frantic eyes as her chest rose and fell at an alarming rate. After what seemed like an eternity her gaze managed to fall upon Freyd just as he shouted her name. The sight of him allowed his voic -
Seeing the creature's health bar drop into the red sent a ripple of gooseflesh across Katoka's body. The primal urge to hunt and kill rose up inside her and if she hadn't been paying attention she might have given in to it. Instead she watched the beast as it stomped and charged about the stadium in a near rage at it's declining health. The samurai began to walk slowing in line with her target, her eyes locked on with intense focus. That walk turned into a jog, her path now parallel to the rhino as her sword began to glow a deep red. Piasuhon took notice of the player attempting to keep u

Attempting to hold herself together, Katoka felt the hot tears streaming down her face. "I-I hadn't really thought about coming out in public like this. I had th-thought I cried all the tears out of me already." she let out a half chuckle, half sob. Elora's touch had nearly made her fall into her arms completely, but she only leaned into her for a bit of support. Walking with the elven woman she spotted the looming structure of a church and at the moment that seemed like a fitting place for the two of them to have a quiet conversation. The samurai nudged her friend in it's direction, havi

Katoka replied to Wulfrin's topic in Intermediate Floors
Katoka sat on the couch in her living room staring at the wall opposite of her. The past few weeks had been hectic for lack of a better term due to the impending raid and she had thought that the momentary silence would be good for her. She was wrong. Standing up and stretching, the blonde woman had decided she would tackle the over growing sink full of dishes she had been neglecting when the all to familiar ping of a message sounded in her ears. Tapping on the icon she quickly read the message and smiled softly. Though their time together had been ever so brief, it warmed Kat's heart to -

As the two warriors clashed their training weapons together again a delay of sound followed after. As if lighting had struck several miles away, the earth rumbling cracks of the wooden swords seemed to reverberate through the entirety of the guild hall now. It would only be a matter of time before the members of Firm Anima that resided on the property would come to find the source of the noise. Katoka felt her mouth pull into a fierce grin as she felt the building electricity inside her. Stray bolts of power snapped and cracked from her as she began to pick up speed. The samurai could fee -
The massive monster continued on it's path, seemingly headed off in some direction to do whatever it was programmed to do. Kat wasn't sure what something of this size would have the urge to do other than constantly walk and walk until it decided to rest. The wind whipped past her making it difficult at times to reach the next hand or foot hold. It was beginning to get difficult to hear as well, with the rhythmic booms and rumbles of the moving stone she clung to and the constant howling of the wind, it was a wonder she was able to hear Freyd call out to her at all. "What are you talking a

The cracks and thocks of wood against wood echoed through the dojo. Kat could tell that Freyd was not attacking with his all, his movements and the force behind his hits told her as much. This ignited a spark of irritation inside the small samurai. Seeing an opening in his footing she quickly disarmed him, sending his weapon sailing from his hands and then bringing her bokken around to knock his feet out from under him. Just as his back slammed into the tatami mat beneath him, her sword was already in a downward swing that stopped just shy of striking him, though his hair blasted back rom he f -

Thwack! Another swift strike corrected Freyd's form. "Regardless of whether or not this will be its final form, Samael's Pride will follow you into battle just as willingly as the rest of us will. Maybe some day in the future, you will be able to hang it on your wall instead of at your side." Katoka knew that this would more than likes not be true for a long time, but she felt it would not be a bad thing for her friend to one day retire the weapon he wielded like an extension of himself. The samurai found herself striking her student less and less, only moving his elbows and kne -
At first, Katoka was concerned she wouldn't be able to keep up with the veteran frontliners she was working with today. Now an overwhelming sense of relief washed over her as she realized they were a lot like her. She had envisioned them obliterating the bosses they had come to fight today, but even Freyd had taken a back seat in damage. Then again whenever he wracked up numbers he also used a literal buffet of consumables to get that high. A smile pilled at Kat's lips, her anxieties about being perfect at the top were slowly beginning to wash away. Her attention snapped back once again t

The ping of an incoming message startled Kat out of her stupor. She lethargically tapped the icon and read the message. With a half hearted flick of the wrist she closed the menu and stood, not bothering to stretch as she normally would. Her brain had settled into a fog and she was going through the motions now. Had she not passed by a mirror before heading out the door she wouldn't have even noticed that she was only wearing a large sweater. With a few quick taps she was in her normal clothing and slipped out the front door. She took a different route to the teleport gate this time, avoi

The ding of a received message appeared as Katoka was lifting a large rock to look underneath for some reason. Dropping the thing with a loud thud she swiped her menu open with confusion, "Who could be messaging me right now?" the confusion was short lived as she whipped around and managed to see the hulking behemoth that Freyd was now climbing. "How in the hell did I miss that..." Breaking out of her momentary stupor, Kat rushed forward and with a flying leap, grabbed onto the side of the thing to begin ascending. She found that it wasn't terribly hard to find hand and footholds to
