As he walked to the edge of town, Oji eventually found the elderly NPC that his marker was leading him toward. He waved politely to the elderly man, and his head picked up instantly "Are you an adventurer?" Oji nodded, "I guess you could call me that, yeah." he said with a chuckle. The NPC showed no sort of emotion, but Oji was a bit used to that with some of the earlier quests. "I am terribly sorry to bother you, but I need help. I-" the NPC, whose name appears to be Zamek, coughs violently for a moment. Oji held him up to make sure he didn't fall over. After a few long, shaky breaths, he con

Oji took his final sip of coffee for the morning as he sat down at his desk. Today was going to be a good day, he could feel it. He took in a deep breath and got started on his daily crafts. As he finished his first item, it ended up being a good item, and it gained him enough experience to level up once more, and he gained another crafting slot. He smiled in pride as he continued his work, the level up giving him the determination he needed to finish his crafts in record time, and all of them were sellable, which felt amazing As Oji looked at the 5 items, he had remembered that he heard -
Oji waved to a few NPC's as he made his way to the Floor 22 Teleporter in the center of town. He did a small stretch before getting onto the platform. He was still trying to get used to the "early morning" part of his new schedule he had given himself. Usually he spent the first hour of his day just relaxing and naturally waking up, reading the news and being caught up on some things. But now he was on his feet and moving a good ten minutes after he heard the early morning birds. "Teleport, Floor 5" He spoke aloud, and soon he was transported to the desert lands of the lower floor. The fi

Oji just chuckled as he was called old man. The words could not ring truer. In his time in this game, he hadn't really found anyone at his age. A few in their 30's, but he still had almost 2 decades on most of those people. He didn't feel right to call them "children" per say, but he definitely didn't feel that he was in their same mindset. He had been trapped here just as they had, however he wasn't in such a hurry to leave for a long while, and he had stayed on the first floor content with what he had been doing at the time. But now, he wasn't heavy on the combat aspect, but he was supportin

Oji replied to Oji's topic in Merchants and Shops
Oji lit the fire in his shop once more, admiring the painting he stole from the 26th floor and made his way to his workshop. He wanted to try a new craft with his tweezers, and maybe try some jewelry for the first time. His first attempt went okay, but it was not sellable. He did his best to try and take it apart but it broke in his hands. The second attempt he tried a fancy chain on it, but the chain snapped and the necklace fell to the ground, shattering into pixels. "Well that isn't good." He muttered as he went back to his stack of materials, attempting to try and make a ring. That to -
Oji awoke to the sounds of birds in his abode on the 22nd floor. Probably the safest floor the frontliners have found in their travels to the top of the tower, he had bought a home and was enjoying the quiet serenity that came with it. He was within the main settlement of the floor, but the houses were few and far between, and he was one of the few shops on the floor, which would give him some decent business when he finally decided to open shop. He stretched and looked around his attic room. It was a bit bare, with only the basic necessities, but he liked it. He had plenty of room to add furn

Oji adorned his apron quietly, the small fire going in his shop as he rubbed his hands together. He had waited a long time for this, and it was finally time for him to get to work in his shop. Adorning some glasses, the older gentlemen went to work, his hands steady as he chose the manual mode of crafting, doing it by hand. His first two attempts did not go as well as he planned, the first one almost looking good, but fell apart in his hands. His second one didn't even get past the first stage before it crumbled into nothing but pixels. A bit distraught from this, he took in a deep breath -
Oji nodded "It is nice, I miss it sometimes, but I can always go to the Town of Beginnings to get that buzz of excitement again." He chuckled. He enjoyed going home every once in awhile and running into some old friends, seeing what they were up to and how things were headed down with the younger players. He did miss the simpler times, but ever since he opened up his shop and started to explore outwards, he realized how much he had been missing. "Uh, what?" He asked, being drawn back into reality. He realized Koga was asking about where to find the familiar. He looked around at the trees,

"Loud." He simply said, copying the young man. "Really, Really Loud." He remembered the amount of times that he was awoken in the middle of the night by the cars and people talking when he first moved. "And very busy, the place never slowed down." He chuckled "If you go to the right part of town, it's just as busy as it is in the morning. Its a place that rarely sleeps." The older gentlemen thought fondly of the large City, even though it was loud, crowded and busy, he loved it compared to his small little home. He preferred a city over a quiet place. "Definitely sounds nice where you ca

He heard Koga mutter about Ferret-bears, and he saw a wave of confusion slowly grow on his head as his mind tried to make sense of the creature he described. He agreed it was definitely a weird one, but he had always wanted one and he was excited for the chance to get it. The surrounding area was beautiful, and they walked in silence for awhile as they enjoyed the view. The sun shining through the tree limbs, a slight breeze causing the leaves above to slightly sway, and the soothing sound of the running river next to them. This reminded him of his time as a child, playing in the fields while

Oji shook his head "No no, they don't spend time in the trees, they mostly live under trees, in little holes. But they look like a slender bear, almost like a Bear and Ferret combo." he explained, doing his best to try and describe the weird creature. "I figured our best bet would to be finding a river with trees along it, so that's where I'm trying to get us." he spoke, opening his HUD and making sure they were going in the right direction. Koga continued to tell him about the story of his sister's familiar quest, and he just let a small chuckle out as he continued to walk "Well, if it e

Oji thought for a moment about what Koga asked. Obviously, a sable was a bit of a weird animal to explain. He had only learned about it thanks to watching a bunch of random documentaries when he was in his thirties, and that's where his interest was peaked. He thought for a moment, scratching his chin. "It's like.... um... it's... it's a tree bear, almost." He said, trying to find the right words. "It's a slender creature but really furry, pretty cute." he attempted to try and make a shape of it with his hands, but it probably looked more like an obese snake. He heard the young man talk a

Oji quietly watched as the two did a quick meet up, she seemed a bit cheery and obviously, if Koga knew her it either meant she was also a frontliner, or Koga was a player amongst players. Either or he decided not to ask for now, something like that needs to be kept between men, and if he needed to beat the kid he would worry about that when the time came. The young girl, Mina, came over and poked his chest, and introduced herself in a cheery tone. He closed his eyes and gave a small smile. "Hi, my name is Oji. Long story, don't ask." He said with a chuckle. People were usually confused t

[PP-F1] Uh... Whoops? <<Earning a Living: Artisan>> (Oscar)
Oji replied to Oji's topic in Beginner Floors
Oji found himself within the inner walls of the safety zone a bit after 9, and he knew he would be a bit late for the nightly special. He had heard that it would be some type of crustacean and he was a bit excited. Seafood didn't really come by the tavern often, so a brave player must have brought some for the Tavern owner to sell. He took a light jog all the way to the tavern, the Grinning Whale, and he emerged from the door with a light slam. Everyone's eyes fell on him, some shocked that he was late, others a bit startled from the sound. Oji, a tad out of breath, panted out only a single se -

As Oji held the stopwatch in his hand, a small chuckle emerged from his lips. A thud of the door shutting behind him echoed through the forest he was in as the sunlight gleamed off the face of the metal trinket. He had done it, he had finally done it. His first steps, and successful ones, outside of the main town and onto becoming something more than just a meander in the local tavern that did nothing but sit around and wait for the frontlines to get them out of the game. "Its a rough start, but it's a start." He chuckled to himself. He flipped open the hatch and looked at the time. it ha -
Oji heard a stifled laugh, but he chose to ignore it since he knew that this was quite the comedic situation, The old man was out of shape and he was sure that maybe Koga had started out similar to him, but he didn't know just yet. He stood and Koga agreed to be his bodyguard for the evening. A calm smile appeared on his face and he nodded, noticing the familiar by his feet. It was a pretty big wolf from what he saw, and it seemed pretty cute, but he knew his familiar would be way better. After a few moments of walking, Koga broke the silence with a question. A simple one but he was tempt

Oji's mind had finally started to settle, his mind that's been trying to prep and plan multiple things for his frontline debut, trying to find the easiest quests for him to do with no hassle, finally started to lessen with the screams of what needed to be done, and started to enjoy the moment that he was in. It was peaceful, it was calming, it was- "Ah!" Oji leapt back at the sound, hitting his head on the sharp done and let out a small shout in response. His head fell under the bubbling water for a second, his eyes getting a slight sting from the sudden water. He emerged with a gasp

Oji received the short message a few moments after receiving his Familiar Food. He picked up the pace and made his way back to the teleporter, where he saw the young man pixelating before him. He let out a huge sigh and did his best to not look like he just ran a marathon. The young man seemed pretty energetic to get started, and he was happy to have the company. "Hey there." He spoke through heavy breaths. "Just... Just wanted to get a.... a familiar." he leaned over and put his hands on his knees. "Man... I'm outta breath." he sputtered. He took a minute to recuperate, then stood up. "I

It was a brisk morning on the Third floor of Aincrad. Even though it seemed to be a giant forest, almost jungle-like floor there was a chill as Oji was up bright and early to try and get another thing off of his checklist. He had been studying possible familiars and he found one that he really wanted, and the thought of it being by his side filled his heart with child-like dream scenarios and it excited him. But he knew that he needed protection for something like this. Leaving a safe area at any level below the cap was dangerous alone. He had learned that groups are almost mandatory until you

[PP-F1] A Quest Begins <<SoTW: Keepers of Nature>> (Lessa, Ghostie)
Oji replied to Oji's topic in Beginner Floors
Oji felt a tone shift at their table as he brought up Oscar, and a sense of discomfort washed over him. He didn't know what had happened or why she looked so sad, but he knew they had history, and it wasn't a good one. Instead of prodding for information, he knew that if she wanted to talk about it with him, it would come up in conversation. There was no need to keep her uncomfortable so he could learn about some dark backstory. He wasn't rude, or some kind of Info Broker. But before he could change the topic, he looked and saw that Lessa's attention was put elsewhere, and he turned aroun
