  1. Nari's posture changed slightly, a minor straightening in her stance that bespoke the reaction that she was having towards the scene before her. Fae's health had already dropped significantly, and although the girl hadn't called for help, Nari was one step away from rushing in regardless. The only thing holding her back was the fact that she knew what it was likely to have another come to your rescue, especially when you didn't need it. It's not over quite yet...if she can just get the upper hand, and avoid any major retaliation...she should be okay. Her hesitation gave leave to another,
  2. Her arrival didn't take long, and Nari found herself waiting for a few minutes before @NIGHT arrived. The familiar face seemed to glance around, as if searching for Nari, before sending out a quick message. Standing from the small local she'd snuggled into - likely hiding her from view unintentionally - Nari walked up behind NIGHT, giving a slight cough as she approached before speaking softly. The ding of the message drawing her attention, already knowing what it was. "Here. I've only been waiting for a few moments." She glanced around the floor, before waving a hand in the direction tow
  3. How long had it been? Days, weeks, months? Nari wasn't quite sure. It felt like years - but then again, everything in this game felt like years. Not that it really mattered, in the end. The length of time had little impact on the actual effect - an effect that had been made clear during the scouting mission. Her eyes hovered over the message. It was short, brief, emotionless. Everything her messages usually weren't. But what more was there to say? What was important to say couldn't go into a typed display, it needed to be vocalised. To: @NIGHT From: @Nari-Lanreth

  5. Success. Everything had been relatively successful thus far. Enough so that Nari was beginning to feel the excitement every time she thought about the recording studio. Once, it had been trivial. Time consuming. Nothing more than a frustration. But like everything that was practiced, now it was almost easy.
  6. Nari stood awkwardly for a few breaths as Onóra collected herself, waiting to hear the other's answer. She wasn't sure if she would be welcomed - Nemo's paradise did have limitations on how much could be found, and some individuals had become greedy and less welcoming when it came to the natural paradise. Still, she hoped that there was still enough of a friendship between herself and the blonde to warrant the question without being immediately denied. "Yeah, together. I'd...love the company." The way that it was worded made Nari pause. There was a hollowness to it - not something that wa
  7. Snow was flying everywhere, to the point that Nari was beginning to lose track of who was where, and whom she was supposed to target. Not that it mattered in the end, they were all here for a good, fun time. Which is appeared they were having. From the sound of laughter that rang over the area, Nari felt that for once in their time here, they were actually enjoying themselves. Even if everything had been horrible, for a brief moment, there was happiness. Blissful freedom from the darkness that seemed to surround them every day, looming over them non-stop. "Lessssaaaaaaaa! I'm coming for

  9. The smile returned, masking the pain and fear that Nari had seen moments ago. She knew what it meant, that the conversation was essentially over. Yet, she couldn't find herself upset about it. She'd come that much closer to Astreya over the last few hours, learning more and more about the girl - about her true side. Sure, there was still a lot there left uncovered, but Nari knew that it wasn't her place to pry. The girl had secrets she wanted to keep, just as Nari did. Standing, she held out a hand for Astreya, smiling down at the girl with a genuine expression. "Come on, we should be he
  10. Jomei seemed almost...calm, after the entire encounter. Calmer than Nari felt, calmer than she expected she appeared. She was glad to hear that he was fine, however, but blushed ever so slightly when he apologised for her having to take the brunt of the battle. She gave the man a thumbs up and a wide grin. "Don't worry about it, I was a tank not too long ago. I'm used to being pounded on, and this was nothing." A few breadths passed in silence before Nari's mind clicked with what she had said aloud. Turning back towards the hill that the soldiers have come from, Nari tried to hide her emb
  11. Time passed slowly for a few seconds as Nari wondered what she should do. She wanted to console her friend, to take away her pain. To make things right. She'd been in this position before; the hurt and suffering that came with the loss of another - especially one close. But she wasn't sure how to help, she wasn't sure what boundaries there were between her and Onóra now. What she could, and could not do. "I'm...I'll be okay..." Nari doubted the words, but didn't argue. She knew better - it would take time to heal the pain, to make it entirely go away. But she also didn't want to doubt the

  13. It felt good to return to the consistent repetitive task of performing. Although it was monotonous, creating the same thing over and over again, there was a...schedule, to it. An outcome expected. It set a precedence for what her day consisted of, and made her feel like she had a purpose. Not to mention, it put the piano to work.
  14. She could hear the almost breaking point in the other girl's words. As if there was the feeling of...being trapped? Was that...fear? Nari couldn't say for certain, but as she felt her brow furrowing, she couldn't help but reach out and lay a hand on Astreya's shoulder. "You won't be there alone." Her voice was soft, but there was no hesitation in the words. She knew that when it came down to it, so long as she was still alive, Nari would be walking through those dangers at the end with her. With anyone else who was still there. She would be there, no matter what. "There's a differenc
  15. Jomei struck out, taking down one of the captains. Nari watched as the second one faltered, then exploded into shards as the bleed effect took over and finished it off. Jomei was right, all that was left was the general itself. If they could end it, then the town would be safe. The fight would be over. Just a little bit more...we got this! She pushed herself into motion, fighting against the fatigue that was plaguing her muscles. The fight had already gone on longer than she liked - far longer than most basic skirmishes that they took part in, in this game. She felt her legs burning, her
  16. Nari listened quietly as she roamed through the grasses with her hands, nodding at some of the points that Astreya had made. It wasn't that she disagreed with the fundamental ideologies of it, sure - Cardinal might decide it was worth keeping them in here for further investigation, or for darker purposes. Still, she knew her answer almost immediately, even if it was a hollow answer. "You're right. Cardinal may decide to overtake everything, to go against whatever Kayaba's original intention was...it may even decide that keeping us here is better for...whatever the purpose may be. I can't
  17. Nari was surprised to find the package delivered personally - to her outside of the shop itself. A sign that she knew the meaning behind, although it certainly wasn't what she was hoping for. Shaking off the despair of it all, she knelt down to gently take the package from the small feline, before rubbing it between its ears. Softly, she spoke to the cat, unsure if anyone else would hear. "Take good care of her for me, she's not anywhere near as strong as she portrays. She's going to need you in the days to come, yeah?" Package in hand, Nari left the store behind - hoping that the feline
  18. The hum that escaped Onóra's lips wasn't quite what Nari had expected, and almost indecisive sound. As if she wasn't sure how to respond, or if she should at all. Instead of making Nari question her position, it instead instilled a desire to know. She waited a few seconds, to see if Onóra would add anything further - either a confirmation or a denial of the possibility, before leaping onto the conversation topic in earnest. "Don't tell me you've been taking combat lessons from someone else! I mean, how do you know they're any good! Wouldn't it be better to take them from someone you know.
  19. Familiar. Far too familiar. Memories came flashing back as Nari wandered into a shop that she had spent too much time in previously. Although the memories weren't bad, she could feel a bit of pain at them - like the memories of a lost loved one. Putting aside her feelings, she forced on a smile that she hoped was friendly, before walking up to the counter. She already knew the piece she wanted wasn't in stock, but hoped it was something that could be made. "Hey, Night. I was hoping to order you-I mean make an order. For a bracelet. If possible. Looking for something energy-restoring, and maybe
  20. Nari stepped off the teleporter onto the eighteenth floor, her nose wrinkling in shock at the smell of it all. She'd heard that the floor itself was essentially one large swamp, but she hadn't expected that Cardinal would perfect them smell so well. "Well, credit where credit is due, I guess. Hey, Yuki?" The small fox bound up beside Nari, yipping in response and holding up a paw in an indignant manner. She couldn't help but shake her head in amusement at the reaction of the fox. Not that Nari disagreed, her own boots getting slimed by the general fauna that seemed to cover...well, almos
  21. She was met with a bundle of limbs that equated to a hug, before Nari found herself barraged with a combination of words, sentences and concerns. She listened carefully, her eyes blinking a few times as she tried to take it all in. Names that she recognised, as well as a few that were new to her, passed through the air and into her ears, her mind trying to place them before having to play catch-up with the rest of the conversation. Huh...must be something important...following in footsteps? Leading the charge...? She couldn't quite figure out what the other was getting at, but she waited patie
  22. Jomei pressed his own attack against the Ice General, the rapier flowing into motion almost faster than Nari's eyes could keep track with. For a moment, she considered leaving the general to him - focusing on crushing the remaining captains, and making sure the town was safe. But that thought lasted only for a moment. She couldn't leave him alone, not against such a large opponent. Not when it had such an upper hand at the current time. "The captain's will have to wait for the moment...let's deal with this thing a bit - then we can focus on them. The town...will have to hold tight until w
  23. Nari's energy had recharged ever so slightly. Enough so that she felt herself shake off the worry that had been growing mere moments ago, when the general had first started moving. They were still in a very dangerous place - if they didn't end this quickly, they and the town likely wouldn't survive. But as the general moved forward, Nari felt her confidence returning. Just enough to get her moving, rushing forwards as the two captains and the lone soldier moved to intercept her. It didn't matter, though. Nari's scythe flashed through the air, catching all four in a sweep that went wide an
  24. The fight hadn't gone nearly as well in the beginning as Fae - or Nari, or likely anyone else watching - would've liked. The girl found herself thrown by the boar's charge, slamming into the ground in what Nari assumed was still painful, even with the pain dampener's in place. Her head turn to look at Avoryn as the green-haired woman seemed to become hysterical. For a moment, Nari stood still - recognising the concern, the way the voice almost broke. Everything sounded...familiar. As the images of scenes from before flowed through her mind, Nari couldn't help but freeze in place. "S
