"They...they thought they were vampires. Wait, do you think Vampires actually exist?" Nari paused in her rush to chase Lilith and NIGHT as she turned with a surprised look towards her companion, utter disbelief crossing her face as she tried to comprehend what the other was suggesting in their questions. She shook her head, clearing away the expression before it became apparent, continuing with her explanation with a voice that was clearly filled with a bit of confusion, concern and disbelief that she was even having to have the conversation to begin with. "You...you do know vampires are a fal

Freyd stepped in from the side, his own fight clearly finished and coming to the rescue, finishing off Famine in a swift wave of attacks that left the horse without rider, and Nari's ascension to the newly appointed position open for her to take. She let her muscles relax, stretching them out and nodding to Freyd in turn as she stepped up towards the horse, placing a hand on it's side in an attempt to comfort it. "Thanks, that helped quicken this whole event up a ton...it went a lot easier than I had expected, to be honest. I guess now all that's left is..." She paused as she glanced at t -
The creature exploded as the three others focused their assault against it, and Nari felt a moment of relief as the danger passed. Smiling slightly, she nodded her head towards Freyd in an unspoken means of thanks, before turning to the other two and beaming a bit more brightly. "There you are, Wulfrin. Made it out the other side in one piece - thanks, entirely, to these two showing up. I'm glad they did, otherwise...well, I won't say you would've died for sure, but I would've been hard-pressed to do my job. Thanks, Star, Freyd." She gave a small curtsey to both individuals as she spoke t

Just like that, Morningstar announced that he had burnt through his entire energy source. Nari glanced over quickly, seeing the way in which he seemed to shift in stance compared to earlier. She knew there was little she could do - for the time being she would simply have to brute it out and hope that he recovered quicker than she did, given the circumstances. "Yeah, for the time being I can keep his focus...just, uh...don't take too long. As much as I can take a poun-err...beating, I'd prefer not to be the focus of his attention forever. It still hurts a bit, you know?" She turned away

The hand on her shoulder reassured her, and Nari found herself turning away from the other player and back towards the creature that had arisen before them. Around her the others had leapt forwards, moving to engage with the avatar as it arrived onto the field of battle, slashing into it and cutting away what health it had begun with - far more than Nari would've originally considered likely possible if it had just been her and Wulfrin alone. Not for the first time since entering the cave, she found herself happy and relieved that Freyd and Morningstar had found them, and joined them. "

She was quickly getting tired from the encounter, a fact that seemed to be directly lined with how she was burning through the energy she was consuming on her attacks. A quick glance upwards confirmed that she was reaching her limits far faster than she would've liked - and their opponent, while looking battered, appeared like they were still capable of going a few more rounds. Gritting her teeth, she sidestepped another stab in her direction as she tried to figure out what to do. "Not sure if you're wearing out as quickly as me, but if this keeps up we're going to be in a bit of a...not

They had returned to Ned, producing the cypher that the Treant had sent them to receive, only to be redirected back to where the entirety of the quest had begun. Nari gave a soft sigh, pre-emptively getting annoyed with the fact that the quest had not yet been completed. She turned to Freyd with a soft shake of her head before following the man back along the pathways that would lead them to the Elven city. Her eyes passed over familiar areas as they made their way around, spotting where they had first battled the Treant, as well as the watch on the parapets of the gates themselves - all appea -

It all started well, and Nari found herself dropping into the typical rhythm of conflict, a dance of death and blade, that felt familiar to her after all the time she'd spent engaging in Aincrad's dangers. She could see, out of the corner of her eyes, as the others went about their own personal conflicts, but she found herself focusing on her own - knowing that dangers that came with getting distracted. They'll need to take care of themselves for now, just as you need to take care of yourself. "This is going to take a few moments...and damn, but you hit hard..." Not that she was overly -

She could feel the heat on her face as the embarrassment became more than just a feeling inside of her, and she found herself looking away in an attempt to calm herself as Jevi questioned her unease. Taking a few seconds to collect herself, when Nari did respond, it was with her eyes averted, and a somewhat uncalm tone in her voice; the words quivering as if she were on the verge of laughing, or tears. "I get nervous around...certain people. Like you. I, uhm, yeah...nervous. Because...anyways, the quest!" She tried to forget the moment that had passed, the unease she'd felt and the overal -

"A lot of things hit hard, just cause I can take it doesn't mean it's not hard-" She stepped to the side as the fight had pushed in her general direction, allowing Morningstar more room to move as he required. She followed the general flow, giving space to the other two where appropriate, but stepping in between the two when her form could handle the blows. She was running low on energy again, and knew that she'd need to do something about it sooner, rather than later. "You know, that did sound very backhanded. Almost insulting, if you ask me..." She stepped in towards the man, bringing

Nari gave a soft sigh as they prepared for the next step of their drive through the Cave, knowing that it was only going to get more dangerous the deeper that they went. Although her eyes flitted backwards towards Wulfrin every so often, she didn't transfix on the man - realising that she would do more good focusing on the dangers ahead, rather than the individual behind her. She'd already concluded that she'd need to focus on protecting the newer player, regardless of the cost, and that meant focusing on the fight - or fights, rather - to come. The pair of golems were upon them faster t

She fell silent as Freyd explained his perception on everything; a perception that Nari found interestingly dismissive of the possibilities that lay within itself, and yet somehow also encompassing all of the counter arguments that came to mind for her when she listened. For a while she walked in silence, simply following Freyd's lead as they made their way back to the grove, content to fall into her thoughts and consider everything she'd heard from the man. She didn't necessarily agree with everything - nor did she disagree with it all, and while she knew there was things should could say in -

She felt herself hum in response to the outburst of humour from Freyd, her face blushing softly in response to the jesting. She knew it was in good nature, as much surprise that she'd reacted the way she had. Not that she felt she had to defend herself, and yet she found herself speaking anyways - determined to clear the air to some degree before moving onwards. "I wasn't really expecting it to rip it's own head off...and you know, ick. I mean, I'm all for like...fighting and stuff, but...it handed me it's head. Like it was nothing. That's like...eeiiickkk." She stopped talking as she shi -
Just when Nari thought they were going to get a break, another voice spoke up. It was calm and controlled enough that she knew it was going to belong to someone of a somewhat more collected nature - but when she saw the individual in question she knew that there was little chance they were going to be able to talk their way out of fighting them. A soft groan of disappointment escaped past her lips even as she readied her shield and spear once more. "Wouldn't it be nice if they would, you know, give us a small break in order to recover a bit. That would be the fair thing to do, don't you

She gave a soft laugh at the comment, shrugging slightly and deflecting another stab towards her torso. The shield clanged slightly as the deflected blade rang along it's side, before slipping down and away from her form entirely. "You know what? That's fair, they did start it. And there's no way they could've known if we were pirates or not. I mean other than the fact that we were with the late Ryland, who shouted about them being bad people, and doing bad things, and all that...so I mean, no way whatsoever they could've known." She deflected another few shots towards her form, sidestep
