So much for a smooth first battle. Almina took notice when Aidan attacked the boars and drew aggro. Almina tried to take the moment as an opportunity to strike while their backs were turned. She would ready her weapon and prepare her sword art. The plan was simple, strike fast, strike now, and strike hard, really nothing much to it, right? Wrong. Almina advanced towards the three enemies, but didn't notice the smooth stone on the slick grass. Before she knew it, her legs were moving upward instead of forward. That wasn't supposed to happen in games..

Aidan's suggestion of hunting and gathering seemed like a good idea. Almina smiled and nodded. "Sure! Let's do it!" The two players would leave the safe zone, and Almina would head directly into one of the floor's foliage ridden areas, near the forest. Four boars were there, one of which looked considerably chunkier than the other three. As soon as Almina spotted them, she drew her weapon and rushed towards them with all due haste. It was practically luck that the first enemies Almina saw were weak enough for her current stats, though it would be best that Aidan come

Almina had never known the Tank experience, so this was a bit of an eye-opener for her. "Interesting..." She thought aloud. Yona would speak her thoughts on it, and it was understandable. Being carried with a Tank definitely had it's advantages, Almina just had to make sure not to pull aggro on anything too dangerous, and she would be completely fine. It was a simple process. Row did not see the rock shake, for she wasn't paying attention. She noted how she got narrow-minded when getting excited about excursions. "It's ok, I don't blame you or anything." Almina reassured with a sm

Almina chuckled. "She kind of found me sitting on her tavern's roof, she's really sweet, I just know she'll be willing to help us out, come on!" She said before taking Aidan by the wrist and dragging him along with her as she nearly skipped her way over to the Tavern where Maggie was. Almina opened the door, and took a good whiff of the incredible aroma that came to greet her. "You smell that, Aidan? That's the smell of a bright, wondrous, and promising culinary future!" She remarked. Once both players were in, a middle aged blonde would poke her head out of the kitchen door.

The Cook profession... Almina's eyes lit up again, and a bright smile formed on her face. "I was actually considering taking up the cook profession myself! Wow, what a coincidence!" She exclaimed, her expression having a bright, beaming smile. "We can help so many people with this profession, people are always needing tasty food and consumable buffs for their journeys! This is a great idea, this way we can play our part for bringing freedom to the people even if we're not ready for the front!" She added. Taking up a thinking position and looking to the digita

Well, Aidan was looking more concerned about Almina's life than happy to see her again after so long. "Ehehe, nope! Nothing to stop me now!" She answered with a wink and a grin. Indeed, Almina would've loved nothing more than to always be herself. This move that Destiny had made on her was both a blessing and a curse. A curse in the sense that she was stuck in this game along with everyone else here, but a blessing that by inevitably getting into a special kind of trouble, she now had no need to hold herself back in any way whatsoever! "By getting in this game, Destiny really pulled a fast one

Almina was in for a busy day. After getting ready the way she usually did, she climbed up to the inn's roof through the window, and sat there admiring the view of another new day. Almina couldn't wait to start seeing the horizons of different floors, and began to wonder just how much the different horizons looked on different floors. Sure, Almina had plenty of angles to look from on this floor and the settlement's many views, but they were starting to run low. Speaking of things running low, Almina was running out of things to keep her busy whenever she wasn't out there. There had to be someth

Almina kept noticing, but Yona Kept denying. Was it really Almina's imagination, or was she hiding something? Row would put the topic aside, suggesting that the three go out and start an adventure. Almina's eyes lit up at the thought. "Of course! I've been waiting for a good opportunity to get out there! I've been wandering this old town for so long, it's about time I get to doing much, much more!" Almina responded. Yona would ask if Almina was fine with being carried, to which she would nod. She was the only level one player in this trio, after all. Yona also warned Almina and Row th

Almina remembered all those countless little things she avoided contact with, who knows what she could have gotten herself into? ...But what could she have gained from it? Well, there wasn't anything she could do about that now, She'd put on the NerveGear on all that time ago, so now there was no sense delaying what was inevitable for someone like her. "Sometimes I wish I was always unafraid to get my hands dirty. There was so much I could've done, so much I could've been, so many opportunities...but I guess I traded all that away to learn tactics of caution instead. Who knows, maybe they'll b

Yona was absolutely confused by Almina's explanation. So, habitually climbing up high places wasn't normal, then... Yona and Row began talking business, though, admittedly, Almina wasn't very well-versed in the subject. She could understand the basics, but she never had enough interest to dive deep into that field. Yona seemed to have a perspective that it could benefit everyone if done right, but that was merely a guess on Almina's part, she could easily be wrong and there could be something going on behind that smile. At least Yona was happy about Row's responses to her words, so who kn

The Young girl asked Almina if she'd ever been hurt outside the safe zone before. "Nope, not yet, I've had a peek or two outside this safe zone, but I have yet to enter any combat." Almina revealed. The brunette asked if this kind of thing happened to her in real life as well. "...Yes, though not as often as today. I developed my habit of climbing up to high places when I was little. First it was cars during the wintertime, and some trees all year round, and of course, hills with a nice view of the environment. Then it moved on to rooftops, telephone poles, even some taller buildings, throug

One of the two players was shocked by Almina's entrance, which didn't surprise her in the least. Her habits sometimes got her looks from people who didn't know her or were only acquainted to her anyway, so she was used to it. The other player had no initial reaction, other than a smile and an offer of some kind. "No, but thanks. I get into things like this all the time, it's no big deal. Besides, in this game we get red marks on our avatars instead of wounds when injured, and don't even take damage in safe zones." Almina responded, her smile unwavering. It was a normal day for her, but all she

So much potential, how was she going to manifest it? The possibilities were endless, surely there had to be something she could do to start out her adventures in this world. She had the skill, she had the knowledge, albeit both did not come from VR games, but regardless, how has she not followed the call of destiny that sent her here in the first place? Maybe she was still unsure, maybe her lifelong habit of avoiding troubles was holding her back, but it has to end today. ...So for starters, when was Almina going to notice that she was about to jump down and not onto another roof

Almina had heard more about the Tailor in Taft, so if anything, this might mean that stock has improved. Almina still needed some protective gear, so it might be worth a look. The shop's interior was as nice as ever, and when Almina looked around, something caught her eye. A really cute, flowering outfit was right there on display, ready for purchase. Almina's eyes lit up as she then looked to see what it would cost. She would have to pay with materials on this one, but she could easily get them back with grinding, couldn't she? She then brought it over to the counter, placing the i

Life tip, not all flowers should be smelled like roses...that is, if you're living in a fantasy environment where anything can happen. Kana would remark on the explanation that Almina had given, saying that although it indeed seemed to be the case, he'd only hoped he could see the properties of such things so that he knew what to look for. "It could be for the sake of immersion." Almina theorized. "Due to the game's lifelike nature, we might have to figure out the properties ourselves." She added, as she began to recall certain games where one had to experiment with trial and error to mak

As the players followed Akiko to reach the Alchemist's shop, some thoughts began to run within her mind. With a game like this...who knows what she'd be up against. She'd heard of the first few types of monsters and how it was unwise to underestimate them, but if the lowest level creatures could be a problem, how much worse would the real threats be? Almina saw herself clutching a weapon, as a big brute of a beast lunged at her. The scene slowed as Almina saw herself swinging her blade towards the monster... Snap back to reality, oop, there goes gravity- Flump. Almina came to he

At first, both players were taken aback by Almina's sudden arrival, having literally jumped down from a tree. Guess jumping from places one climbed up to wasn't normal either...even if they were of sensible enough heights to survive, or in a safe zone like this. The girl seemed baffled as she introduced herself as Akiko, before noting that the sudden arrival startled her. "Ah, sorry, I didn't mean to literally jump into the conversation...and here I am..." Almina responded, her hands behind her back as she slowly tilted to the side. Akiko didn't seem to mind Almina tagging along if i

A tree was always different from a roof, but it was a neat spot nevertheless. It had been a bit of a morning. First, Almina woke up only to fail at getting back to sleep, resulting in her simply getting herself ready for the day. She didn't know if she could properly defend herself without a piece of defensive equipment, aside from just trying to dodge, but better safe than sorry, right? She would change from her sleepwear into her everyday safe zone outfit, a simple white shirt paired with a knife pleat skirt and hoodie jacket, both a rose pink in color, along with a pair of white ankle

The city of Taft sure was a bustling one. Although it wasn't as crowded as the Town of Beginnings is, it had enough activity to suggest that it was a fairly nice place to hang around. There weren't many places Almina was willing to go just yet, but for now she would take a look around and browse a few shops...like the apparent tailor shop located near the market itself, a place called "Luminous Linens". Sounds like a tailor shop, maybe there was something nice inside. Almina entered the shop curiously, taking a look around the well-kept interior. There were a few things in stock, and

Almina replied to Vigilon's topic in Merchants and Shops
Almina really wanted to get started, but she needed equipment first. She'd heard about a Blacksmith on the seventh floor who had recently proven themselves reliable with orders of various kinds. Upon reaching the beginning of the path to the shop, it would seem that someone had been clearing the path, as the journey there was surprisingly safe. Of course, since it was a half-hour walk to the apparently isolated locale, Almina would need to watch her footing. Reaching the shop was one thing, then she noticed that it was a fair height, nice place to get a mild view of the surrounding a
