  1. "Yep," Wulfrin accepted the handshake. "And thanks for the sentiment. The meeting though was always the plan. At the time I set it all up, I didn't know if I was going to be able to participate, so I used the wedding's feast option as a way to give back to the frontlines a bit. Though I guess I'm doing that with steel now." Wulfrin eyed the violin rapier that Jomei adjusted at his hip. It was familiar to Wulfrin. It took him a moment but he thought back to a handful of days ago that Morningstar had dropped off a rapier and asked him to fuse it together with a stick. He chuckled as he remi
  2. "Fine craftsmanship," Wulfrin mulled over the blades presented to him. "The pure black basically shadow motif is laying it on a bit thick, but given your color scheme and style of combat they fulfil their roles swimmingly. Honestly I really want to see your skill with them over anything else. From what I've heard mastering the use of a katana is no small feat." Wulfrin watched and listened as Freyd gave his speech and packed away their little tea set up. He was soaking up every bit of intel The Whisper was giving him. To him it was all worth while. The mention of Icingdeath being comparab
  3. The trio arrived at the top of the mountain with relative ease. Wulfrin had done it so many times that the climb was basically muscle memory, if you could even call it muscle memory considering they didn't have any physical muscles. The sounds of various monks training in a variety of martial arts. On queue the master made their way towards the trio and introduced themselves with a deep bow. "Welcome back, Wulfrin." The master spoke with a well centered and calm demeanor. "Do you seek to continue your training?" "Yes master," Wulfrin returned the bow with respect. 'I've brought other

  5. "Not really," Wulfrin shrugged as he lay in the grass along the bank of the river. "Seems like the fish just ain't biting today." Wulfrin stared up at the floor above as he waited for something to bite. He wasn't expecting to bring back a huge haul, but he would like to bring home as many as he could. At the very least they would make up some of his lost inventory from all the crafting he was doing as of late. As he began to lose himself in thought, his line went taught. He had hooked another fish. "It's not so bad though," Wulfrin said with a sigh as he moved to reel in his catch. "
  6. "It's an honor to hold the mantle," Wulfrin smiled back as his companion. "I also plan to keep the price low. Showing up on that monument isn't really high on my To-Do list." Speaking with someone who understood his predicament had certainly helped. Wulfrin was already starting to feel more like his old self. His reflection in the river even looked to be in higher spirits. If walking the path of the Gemini for a while would help him figure out more of the ins and outs of Aincrad's functions, then he would face the void in stride. Freyd's blade was looking like it was particularly unused.
  7. "Zachariah isn't that bad..." Wulfrin responded to Nymoria's signing as he watched his bobber dance on the river's waves. "In fact I'd probably argue he is the nicest of the NPCs in this questline." Of course luck was probably the bane of every player that took on this quest. He had seen multiple new players go through the same cycle of grief, it was borderline madness. Every player was at the mercy of Cardinal's random number generator. The best any player could do was skew the odd in their favor a bit. Unfortunately there were some places where even those hard earned boosts can't assist
  8. "'Sup," Wulfrin said as he seemed t materialize from the shadows of a nearby building. "So finally settled on going after Lillith have we? Perfect timing too. The Sword Art we can get at the end of this thing would be helpful in the raid." Wulfrin was starting to look more and more like Freyd everyday. Ever since his rematch with his Gemini, the shadows seemed to be attracted to him. That compounded with the less than friendly appearance of his tattered and worn armor, The Fallen Angel Garb, and the constant icy mist that surrounded him from his blade, Icingdeath, made him look the part o
  9. "So this is it," Wulfrin sighed as he paced the small staging area he was placed in. "Pit fighting hasn't ever really been my favorite thing, but since the system introduced the new quest I may as well give it a shot." "Are you sure you're ready for this?" A shadowy version of Wulfrin stood arms crossed across the room from him, their feet linked to Wulfrin's via his shadow that danced in the flickering of the torch light. The voice was only present in Wulfrin's mind, but he and his shadow had more and more conversations as of late, a charming side effect of the skill he learned from Frey
  10. Wulfrin knew only two other people on this quest, but if they were willing to accept the orange player, that was good enough for him. He turned his attention to the fight ahead as they ascended the stairs of the tower. Before long they were face to face with the dragon. Believe it or not, dragons are way more terrifying in person. Wulfrin watched as Morningstar, Koga, and Pinball leapt into action. Koga and their Wolf attacked from the front, Morningstar scurried around the back and slashed at what would be the dragon's Achilles heel. Pinball vanished and sent several knives into the dragon's
  11. "You must be Jomei?" Wulfrin said as he emerged from the shadows of the nearby forest. He tossed the other player a pretzel as he made his way to the mouth of the cave. "You mentioned you were needing to start from scratch so I came prepared. The pretzel will help with this one... trust me." The player before him hardly resembled the player Nari would have described. In stark contrast to the red overcoat and upbeat personality was a player who walked as if they were some odd dark quest mob. Their armor was charcoal road leathers under a long and tattered overcoat that was frayed at the ed
  12. Once again Wulfrin found himself at Demian's shop. This time for a restock. He had been doing several quests back to back and had nearly completely burnt through his collection of food stuffs. The exchange was quick and with few words. Wulfrin was on a time table and he intended to keep it. He placed the required payment before the humble cook. Items in hand, Wulfrin turned and left on his way to continue his shopping trip. As he walked off, one could hear him muttering to himself, running through some kind of mental checklist. "Thanks Demian," Wulfrin quickly turned back and waved. "See
  13. "Heard about your place from a friend," Wulfrin said as he sat at the bar. "Her name is Siren. I noticed that you kind of stiffed me on the payment for the bandit camp. I'm in need of a restock on some damage potions. If you have some to spare I'd consider us square." Wulfrin's attire definitely fit the vibe, what with the dark travel leathers and tattered coat of his armor. The place was rather nice considering the slightly soured taste their last encounter had left in Wulfrin's mouth, but he was always pretty quick to forgive and move on. He waited around a bit before the bottles were p
  14. "And that's that," Wulfrin said as he returned his blade to it's sheath. "Time to pack up and go home." As Wulfrin turned around he found himself standing alone. Oz had disappeared. Cordelia simply noted it was nice working together then similarly dipped form the situation. It was just him, Solaris, and an empty bandit camp. Then the quest panel appeared before him listing the rewards and in an instant the names under his in his vision vanished. Wulfrin pulled the cowl up over his head and shoved his hands into the dep pockets of his armor. "Time to head out I suppose," Wulfrin said
  15. "Dude my house is basically lake side property," Wulfrin joked back as Star pointed to the plant. "It's a solid start, but we've got a long way to go to make this place... inviting. As for showing up? Why wouldn't I? From what you were telling me you were the only high level player in the guild. I figured you'd like the back up. Besides I can't run a guild if I haven't ever been a part of one." The next attendee arrived shortly after they finished their brief catch up on the state of things. Wulfrin noted the tail. He hadn't seen many players running around fulfilling their inner cat pers
  16. "So we meet again Mama Boar," Wulfrin said with a playful tone in his voice. "There is no Freyd to take you out this time. It's just you and me." With blinding speed and accuracy, Wulfrin's blade slammed into the boar's form. It few in the air for a bit before resorting to just writhing on the ground a few feet away from him. The mob was disoriented from the blow and seemed to be leaving itself completely open to attacks. Wulfrin stood over the beast ready to finish it off should it make any wrong moves. "Alright ladies," Wulfrin said with a smirk. "Mother Boar here wont be making an
  17. "Unfortunately," Wulfrin said with a sigh as he stood up and stared into the meandering creek. "The answers to my questions can only come with time and experience. I can't always rely on others to tell me what ideals and truths are skewed or lies." Wulfrin's shadowy clone dissolved back into its proper place. Wulfrin stared into the eyes of his reflection in the water, for the first time in the last several days, he didn't see some horrific visage staring back, but his own eyes filled with the burning light of life and determination. "There is truth in all lies," Wulfrin spoke once
  18. "Vampire hunting you say?" Wulfrin said with a curiosity. "And please, oh Guildmaster when were you going to invite me along? We haven't done a proper quest just the two of us since when? The Warg?" Wulfrin was merely joking of course, though the thought of going on a run just the two of them would be fun. Vampire hunting on the top of it? Even better. Wulfrin scooped up the items and quickly set to work forging the blade. "Wife's good, she's been kinda busy at the bakery so don't see her all that often." Wulfrin replied keeping the conversation going while he worked. "I'm in the pr

  20. "Is that what's been tearing up the roof of both my house and shop?" Wulfrin said in astonishment. "That makes so much sense. I really should have paid this rowdy neighbor a visit sooner. At least this isn't an HOA. I think I would actually rather deal with this over one of those." Wulfrin shuddered at the mere mention of the literal Karen farms. He turned his attention to the room and the portal pointed out by Freyd. He immediately went into loot goblin mode pulling on books, thumbing through journals, and even looking up the chimney in hopes of finding something worth pushing to start the th
  21. "I aim to please," Wulfrin smirked as he prepared for another assault. "Let's keep up the pressure. These things are HP sponges. Doesn't help that they're hard for me to hit either." Wulfrin dashed forward seeing the Slime King having but a small amount of health remaining. With a swift downward strike, his cerulean lit blade cut straight down the Slime King's center. The bifurcated boss fell to the ground with a sickening slopping sound. Wulfrin's heart sank when the two halves began to animate and move independently of each other. "Great," Wulfrin sighed. "Black Pudding rules apply
  22. "One mega fish boss coming up!" Wulfrin said as he made his way over to Freyd. "Gimme the salamander." Living on Floor 22 had its perks. Today the biggest perk was getting to the tournament grounds early in an attempt to get some warm up casts in before the show. As Wulfrin fastened the salamander to his hook. He gave Lotus a thumbs up. The two had had conversations about this tournament multiple times leading up to the day's events. The plan was to catch the big ol' fish and cook up some fillets. Wulfrin stood at the end of the dock where he had been fishing all morning. With a simple fl
  23. His sword back in hand, Wulfrin charged back into the fray. The mobs were getting out of hand, and thus required him to provide the party just a little bit of breathing room. His blade shined a vibrant crimson as he brought it to bare against the slime monsters before them. Each one recoiling as his blade made a solid impact scattering parts of their goopy masses across the stones. The remaining masses simply quivered and ceased their onslaught long enough for the rest of the party to gather their thoughts. "Stunned them," Wulfrin said between pants of breath. "Hopefully it can give us an
