  3. Nymoria considered Nemo’s form in the distance for a collection of seconds before she turned her attention back to Acanthus. She’d had a similar thought regarding the garden, and Nemo’s behaviour when she’d last visited the area, so it was no surprise to hear it from the player now – but she also knew that being prepared for it meant a severe change in the difficulty of what was to, eventually, come. He is both dangerous, and not. If you’re smart, the fight is not difficult. She laughed her silent laugh at the thought of a gardener shooing them away, the image something akin to a comedy
  4. Gathering energy would be a good idea. Nymoria sheathed the sabre as she switched to speaking with both hands, her comfort clear in the shift of communication. Although she was clearly capable of signing with the single right hand, it had become obvious over time that she preferred the use of both, being able to articulate more clearly and easily in comparison. Besides, as she glanced up at her own energy bar, she knew that a break would not necessarily be a bad thing. There was still a lot to do, although she knew that they had come so far already. Shifting towards a nearby area, Nymori
  5. Nymoria felt a measure of comfort expelled as she realised that the creature was defeated. The shards which signified its final moments in existence settled towards the ground, leaving behind only a measure of memory that it had once existed, before disappearing entirely. She found herself paused, staring at the shards as she considered how that represented her life, and the lives of all those stuck within the game. She’d considered it all before, but something in that exact moment reminded her of just how simple it would be for them to disappear forever, remembered only by those within the ga
  6. The queen wasp had nearly avoided Nymoria’s attack, only a last minute adjustment in her approach allowing her to land the strike which stunned the queen wasp. She’d taken the opportunity to retreat, rather than pressing the attack, in the hopes of placing some distance and allowing herself to prepare more thoroughly for the follow up strike that she was sure would come from the creature, given the opportunity. Her mind had focused entirely on the fight, forgetting the internal conflict that had raged through her not so long ago – her attention drawn away giving her some relief. Before s
  7. Nymoria stepped back as Acanthus began her own attack against the snapdragons. The blade in the player’s hand moved with a viciousness – a desire to end the conflict, to bring it all to a close. There was a measure of brutality behind it, but not the aggressive, untamed form that had previously existed. In fact, Nymoria would almost go so far as to say that it was a lot more refined, in its own way. She stayed a small distance away – close enough to rush in if needed, but beyond the reach of her companion’s own weapon – as Acanthus made her way through the forms, finally facing off with the re
  8. Her decision made, Nymoria moved back to the present, deciding that she would at the very least focus on bringing down the queen wasp one more time. She knew that the creature should be reappearing shortly – if her timer was correct, that was. Will it appear in the same spot, or do I need to travel a bit to find it though? She bit her lip as she realised she wasn’t certain, a fact that brought an immediate ping of fear into her chest as she fought against the sudden indecisiveness that was building up inside her. She knew it was a dangerous situation, allowing that self-doubt a single moment t

  11. Nymoria had let out a soft release of breath as she’d come to a stop, the last of the snapdragons exploding beside her as she turned back to face Acanthus, her grin on her face showing her excitement at the success they’d had. There’d been little in the way of resistance in the fight, and Nymoria felt that the two of them were really beginning to find their rhythm in the fight – their flow and cadence becoming as close to a singular purpose as they could bring it. Acanthus had begun to show the skill of continued practice and development, her form changing from the more brutal style that it ha
  12. Acanthus spared no time in coming back to the more cheerful side that she had shown earlier, and Nymoria found herself smiling in earnest as the other player came rushing after her. It was clear that she was willing to put aside the momentary emotion in order to engage in the moment – whether that was to overcome the sadness, or simply ignore it until later, Nymoria couldn’t say. Either way, it was a sign that the girl wasn’t held down by the emotional, or impacted in a manner that caused her to shut down entirely. I know that crippling feeling all too well… Acanthus’s strikes against th

  14. She'd happened upon the locale through pure accident, her travels to the thirteenth being litlte more than a measure of pacing through the various terrain to see...well, she wasn't entirely sure what she expected to see. What she found, however, wasn't anything that she could call appealing. Even the bar itself - typical in its medevial appearance and welcoming imagery - had appeared little more than a respite for questionable activities. Which begged the question as to why Nymoria - an individual who had rarely entered a bar, taproom, or other drinking establishment in her life - had steppped
  15. Nymoria remained quiet as she watched Acanthus’ sudden peaked interest, the way in which the player seemed to leap into the conversation with such excitement. There was a sparkle to her eye as she spoke, talking about the various plants and ecosystems that – if Nymoria was being entirely honest – were far above and beyond her own understanding of how the systems worked. The bare basics should could follow, the concepts of water, soil composition, of growth and regrowth. Where she found herself lost was the sudden leap to cataloguing and noting all of the effects, and the investigation into whe

  17. Nymoria nodded softly as the other played seemed to hesitantly mention their own ideals and desires regarding food. She could’ve sworn that she saw a measure of regret, or some other similar emotion, when Acanthus had first begun talking about food. A reaction that Nymoria assumed was as much in relation to the regret of missing food, to the desire to consume food. She kept herself from showing any signs or reaction, but she could feel the sudden impact of hunger on herself, and knew that she would need to eat something at some point. All this talk of food and cafés would make anyone hungry…es
  18. Maybe…maybe there is something I can do. Wasn’t there… Nymoria opened her menu, scrolling through it as she tried to remember where she’d seen mention of the thought that had popped into her mind. Her fingers glided across the area as they manipulated the digital screen, passing through various settings and configurations, glancing over items, and eventually moving into the various list of quests before she found exactly what she was looking for. It wasn’t an answer, by any means, but as she stared at the text she couldn’t help but wonder if it would at least provide some sort of support for w
  19. Even if she had wanted to deny it, the images in Nymoria’s mind made it clear to her how long she had been avoiding the actual depressive episode. Time and time again she’d seen the strain on her mind – the continuous loss, of friend and barely known individual, of minor conveniences and things that had been taken for granted in life. Everything that had been taken away once they’d been locked in the game, lost to the real world as they fought for their freedom – a freedom that they weren’t even entirely sure they were guaranteed. Fighting in the hopes that the promise of the madman who had lo
  20. She felt a measure calmer as she picked up the sabre from the ground, the feel of the hilt in her grasp somehow pushing away another measure of the depression and darkness that had been hovering at the very edges. It wasn’t gone – not entirely, at least – but it had receded to a point where she could think calmly, and somewhat more clearly compared to when it had first taken over her entirely mind. She let out another deep breath, straightening her pose and standing up once more before turning back towards the tree where she had first found refuge. She knew that she was still unstable – physic
