  1. After Euled was done with his attack, he looked at Yeff, who seemed in like he was in a berserk state. His movements were raggedy and he felt more rough and jaggedy. It was clear that this boss was on another level to the two minotaurs they had faced earlier. The elf targeted Freyd first, trying to slash his torso open. "Watch ou-!" His warning was unneeded, as Freyd dodged the attack easily. Sweeping the monster off of its legs, he put Yeff in a painful hold, smashing him airborne from a shockwave in the ground for good measure. His HP dropped dangerously low, only trickles left. Wi
  2. "O...kay?" The description of Yeff as a "meme" made Euled's expectations confuddled. Maybe he just looked really stupid or something. Still, appearances could be deceiving; it was best to be cautious about these kind of things, after all. They passed through shrubbery, the nature of the place making Euled's hair stand on its ends. He felt like there were a million pairs of eyes watching him, and he swore he could see shadows leaping around from the corners of his eye. Freyd seemed cautious, and Euled followed his actions. "...I'll be careful." Eventually, the path of the twistin
  3. "Unique Item? Sounds interesting. I can't believe I haven't killed one or two field bosses while I've been running around everywhere...I haven't even seen one yet." Field bosses being unknown to Euled made this encounter sound a little bit exciting. It was like going into something unknown as a kid. The unique Item was like the cherry on top, not like he'd squabble with Freyd over it. Whoever got the last hit would get it, that's that. Unless the item was useless for either party or something. Euled glanced over to him as he opened his menu to summon 2 potions, crystalising into his hands
  4. "I'm not gonna get beaten anytime soon." The "Caverns of Faerie"...Sounds...generic? The name "Yeff" made him think of a giant Yeti, something that didn't sound threatening or dangerous in the slightest. Though, maybe he could soak up some pain they inflicted on him. With Larbrook gone, it was just Freyd and Euled, not that Larbrook had done anything to help them. He got why Freyd liked annoying him so much, if only just a tiny tiny bit. He went to follow Freyd out of these claustrophobic metal hallways, shoving his hands into his coat pockets. A glance back at Larbrook before h
  5. The reinvigorated assault caused by Euled would prove to be useless. Shuffling out of the way, the metal on his blade slashed uselessly into thin-air, giving him just a split second of end-lag before returning back to a neutral swordplay stance. His breathing became coarse and uneven; this fight had been drawn out for far too long. Maybe they were equal in strength, or maybe the copied version of Euled was toying with him. Either way, he wouldn't lose. It seemed to be an even match-up, slightly leaning towards the original Euled in a bout of attrition. "Seriously, this guy is a pain..."
  6. Euled glanced over to Freyd as he executed the attack, killing the minotaur. He was glad that his stun had succeeded, though it was a bit overkill. He grimaced at the sound of the beast getting decapitated. Man, I'm grateful that these guys just disappear into shards and don't...bleed out everywhere. It was still a game, after all. Any extreme gore like that and it would probably be taken off the market. The corpse faded away into nothing, any trace of it being there gone. "Yeah, thanks." With a smile, he placed his sword back into his sheathe cushioned into his coat with a
  7. "Eh. Maybe he wants to challenge us, maybe he was just plain bored. I guess we'll just find out when we get to floor 100 and beat it." No matter what his motives are, at least that there was some kind of silver lining to this nightmare. Otherwise, SAO would've been a lot harder to beat. "Huh...I guess that's true. I've always thought that you should just go at quests alone, but in a big raid, that's not exactly possible.." Reading between the lines was never Euled's speciality, so he didn't dwell on the topic. An SAO vet was always someone he was willing to shift his perspective
  8. "Hahah. Well, if there's anything I had to pick that I was grateful to the Cardinal system for, it'd be the pain scaling. I don't think half of the players on the frontlines would've went outside Floor 1 if it wasn't for the pain mitigation. But that's just my two cents, I guess." It seemed like they could diss the system of the game without any repercussion. It was good that Kayaba wasn't watching over them this whole time; it brought him a shred of comfort in the midst of the whole death game scphiel. "That...doesn't sound very pleasant. How the hell do you even manage something l
  9. Euled glanced over to Larbrook as his shoes clanked against the labyrinth's hard floor. He listened to Freyd speak, feeling sympathy for him. "Poor guy. So they just left him here to guard this little thing till SAO gets cleared? Talk about sad game design." He snickered a little at the jab at Kayaba. Similar to a lot of other players, there was a lot of hatred harboured for him. I mean, he was the one who trapped them in this game, after all. They continued their trek, Euled keeping his pace so that he would walk right next to Freyd. Trusting the NPC seemed like the smartest move in
  10. He put his hands in his non existent coat pockets, watching the last few shards of the beast-human minotaur thing slip away. For something so big and dangerous looking..it didn't look so dangerous now. Especially when it burst into a big heap of flying pixels everywhere. It might've been a little cooler if blood started spewing out everywhere...but he wasn't sure if he could stomach that after killing a rabbit or something. "Fair enough." Looking back at the burly, buff Larbrook Euled formed a connection between the synapses in his brain. Accompanying one of them was boring, but two
  11. Reeling from the pain, he would grunt through it and swip his sword in a reverse grip, aiming to stun him using the pommel of his blade. While his copy was in the attack motion, he ducked outside of Euled's attack, making him slam his sword hilt into nothing, uselessly. He looked quite stupid, almost tripping over from excessive force put into the attack. It made his blood boil. Even though the Gemini had no reaction thus far, he could've sworn he saw the faint markings of a smirk appear on his face. It was like he was trying to provoke him, the intentions behind this assault still unclear. Wa
  12. After his attack connected to no effect, Euled tried to draw his sword back. It's not like he pierced through anything, so it was easy to do so. His copy would lunge at him in a similar fashion to before, the tip of his sword pointed dangerously at his chest where all his vital organs were. I won't fall for the same thing twice! He raised his sword up for the metal to brush against the other sword, letting sparks fly and nullifying the attack. However, things were not going to go as he planned. The attack connected, but the copy could definitely hit harder than him. Their swords clan
  13. He could feel life flowing back into his veins as he gulped down the potion, his health bar increasing by a big increment, going from an amber yellow colour to a healthy light green. From what Euled could tell, his mirror man couldn't use potions or skills. I've just gotta hit him hard again, and it's over. Brandishing his new sword again, he would go in for another attack. Euled's energy was almost one third down, so his sword didn't glow this time. Instead, all he did was swing his sword down in a simple motion. The strong metal would impact into the coat in a menial fashion; it b
  14. "Wh-what?" He swivelled his head at the commanding voice to see a giant half-beast half-man wearing a skirt and a beret far too small for its head. In its arms was a weapon that looked like a giant stick adorned with small jagged spikes around the handle. On the tip of the stick held an amber coloured orb enfused into the material. It looked similar to a stereotypical mage's wand. Though he didn't get to analyse the beast for long before a big object went swinging at his head, darting away and watching it plant a big indent into the labyrinth walls, said indent exploding into game data.
  15. "..." ...No reaction. Even though his attack had put a gigantic chunk in his HP bar, the copy remained silent, stoic, expressionless. He barely even reacted to the attack, not flinching at all. The downtime from the sword skill made Euled rooted in place for a split second, but a split second was all he needed. Blocking or weaving away would fail, as he felt his sword run a big gash line across his chest, wounding him critically. Even though the cardinal system had toned down the pain from the injuries anyone could receive, it still stung. "Ghk!" Instantly, he ran back, cre
  16. "Nah...I've heard about it, but I'm just here for the EXP, honestly." He felt the dirt by his feet crunch into solid concrete, opening his menu for a second and accepting the invitation, a small HP bar popping up underneath Euled's. Another turn led them to a long corridor, the axe wielding man and his party member rounding the corner in shock. He stuck his head out to see just what exactly had them flabbergasted, in the same degree. An unknown white powder was sprayed across the floor, the texture coarse and rough. Inside the walls were indents of dome-like shaped. They weren't smooth at
  17. So this guy's "Larbrook?" Honestly, to Euled he looked like a giant wall towering over the labyrinth. Like a mini-boss or something...except the fact that he was getting nagged by the player far smaller than him. It's a quest, huh? Euled stopped himself from metaphorically drooling at the oodles of EXP he'd obtain from this. He'd wanted a quick boost ever since that skirmish in the garden. "I'm Euled. Nice to meet you, Freyd." He shook his hand with a firm grip, deciding to gloss over how he described the NPC next to him. Getting a closer look at him made him realise
  18. It had been a wonder how Euled had explored through Floor 6, but not Floor 2. Floor 1 was the "hub" for all of SAO, but nobody really cared about Floor 2. Still, he decided to teleport there anyway. Maybe he'd find some nice views or just take a stroll around a town. The weather was nice, a blue sunny sky with clouds far and few between. Eventually his daydreaming was broken by a notification ping on his menu. Huh? Opening it up, Euled let his eyes scan till he opened up the request board, a message issued to players on Floor 2. "Training trip...Martial arts skill...AOE skill?"
  19. Floor 3 was unknown territory for Euled. He had been to Floor 5 once, but never Floor 3. In any case, the quest on Floor 5 was a breeze; why would Floor 3 be any different? As he arrived in the town of Aryut, overhearing conversations had led him to gain knowledge about a "Hoya" who had left two minotaurs in a labyrinth in a forest a way sorts around. Of course, he decided to search for this labyrinth, wading through the forest and finally coming across a big structure that looked awfully like a labyrinth. Sure hope that's it. Walking closer, he stumbled upon a loud scene. A player w
  20. If there was one silver lining to this, it was that this copy monster of him didn't look out of the ordinary. He had the same weapon, the same armour. Euled would know the ins and outs of his tactics and weapons, but then again, so would he. It seemed that this would come down to either luck or skill. "Why're you even attacking me for no reason?!" "..." No response? Speaking to the copy yielded no result, so Euled decided to let their blades do the talking. The copy stood there, waiting for an attack, and he gladly obliged. I've gotta win... Spending all his energy now
  21. Suddenly, without warning, his question was answered by a shift of movement right behind him. ...Huh? A sword swung in the trajectory of Euled's arm. He felt the blade sink into his skin, though nothing critical. "Urk..!" Instinctively, he leapt away, taking a look at his assailant now that the black cloak shrouding them was thrown off from the attack. Wh-what the hell? Is that...me? The same chestnut coloured hair, the same green eyes, the same fur coat draped around his arms and even the same blade in his hands. What he was fighting looked like a copy of himself
  22. Continuing their trek, the scenery shifted. It was a far cry from the hustle and bustle of Krycim, a small lake of water that flowed upstream into a creek. Various rocks of different shapes and sizes accompanied a few dark-green trees. Euled didn't know how to describe the atmosphere. He didn't even remember how he could've gotten here from Krycim. There wasn't a single player nor a single NPC in sight. He wondered how nobody in Krycim had discovered this area sooner than he had seen it. A forest preceded the lake, trees twisting to form a path through branches and mist alike to the littl
  23. The cloaked man seemed to smile, walking off somewhere and gesturing back to Euled to follow him. This is getting more shady by the minute.. Still, they were in a safe zone, so it's not like he could die or anything. Reluctantly, Euled followed him, the comforting presence of his sword still on his back. He led him into a corner of the town he didn't know about, navigating through the shifting cobble paths and houses strewn about Krycim. He glanced around the place furtively, on edge. "Don't be so cautious." "How could I not be...?" He doubt he would try to kill him o
  24. Eventually, the cloaked figure began to explain his intentions. Apparently he'd been watching Euled this whole time, his trials and tribulations, and wanted to spar him in a friendly duel. A duel to test Euled's combat ability. For some reason, no NPC or player had paid attention to him or even glanced his way to take notice of this cloaked guy who stuck out of place like a sore thumb. He was full of mystery and uncertainty, something Euled didn't like. This guy's been following me this whole time?? "How have you been following me??" His question was met with a slight smile and
