  1. A little bit more walking ensued. Eventually, Euled found himself back in the town square of Krycim. It wasn't nearly as densely populated as the Town of Beginnings, but it still held its worth. He could spot a few players walking in and out of shops and NPCs giving out quests like candy. Euled pondered accepting a quest too, but he doubt they would give him anything worth while. Not anything that would give him lots of EXP, at least. I guess I've done a full circle of the town. What now? His thoughts were answered by a person completely shrouded in pitch black robes walking up to hi
  2. The dawn of a new day had arrived. His eyes fluttered open in a similar fashion as before, the bright sun blasting his eyelids and forcing them awake. Ugh...So bright. Immediately, he got up and went to shut his curtains, his longsword nestled by his bed. It was still early morning, so he decided to peruse the stores around Krycim. There were a few blacksmiths littered around, a few general stores, a few inns. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary as he walked around, the pathways leading him to new places, his longsword sheathed on his back. I've got the stra
  3. The last time he had been to Floor 5 went quite well. So why not go up to Floor 6? That had been Euled's thought process when debating to move up floors. With his shiny new gear, his totally super cool coat given to him by a totally super cool player, what could go wrong, right? And so, he found himself settling down in the nearby town of Krycim, sitting down with a thud on a wooden stool at the nearby tavern. His stomach wasn't rumbling, so foregoing eating for now would be his choice. I guess I should rest for now. It's getting late, after all. Eventually, he found his way to
  4. The Town of Beginnings was familiar scenery to Euled. After getting a new sword, he decided to pay a visit to the local accessory shop he passed a few times while walking around the town. A few extra stats could help him out when he needed it most, after all. The sun cast an orange and yellow hue over Aincrad: he hoped they they hadn't closed yet. The soft sound of a bell could be heard as he pushed the door open, walking into the store. Expensive looking jewelry was strewn over the place, but he decided to pick up a pendant with a wolf design and walk up to the counter. "I'd like
  5. Floor 22 was a lot more calm and peaceful than he thought. Euled took a seat at the place he had been instructed to wait at, taking a minute to survey the views. This was a smart waiting spot; he could see the forging process and a pond nearby. Eventually, the crafting process had been completed. Standing up, he walked over to Wulfrin, rummaging around and grabbing a few materials to pay, putting it in the blacksmith's hands. "Thanks." Euled took the blade in his hands: it had a nice feel to it and a simple yet sleek look. Pickup: Accruer | Fusion ID: [223653] | T1 Perfect
  6. He decided to walk into the shop alongside Miyuki. Euled wanted to get info about the place too: there was no point waiting outside and having Miyuki tell them about what the alchemist said when he could just get it directly from him. He listened to Zackariah talk. Collecting materials sounded easy enough. "Leave it to us!" Euled lingered. This decision bore fruit as he saw Zackariah pull out a small vial of fondue that Euled could try, free of charge. "Sure, I'll try it." As soon as he gulped down the vial, for some reason, he felt like today was going to go better. Well,
  7. Floor 22 was uncharted territory for Euled. He'd heard getting to the town was easy enough, without any monster run ins. The sword that he had gotten way back at the Town of Beginnings was good, but it felt weak compared to some of the players he'd battled enemies with. Soon, Euled was craving an upgrade. Perusing the town, a smithery caught his eye, one by the name of Sentinel Armaments. It looked good enough, so he decided to enter, his fluffy black coat draped over his shoulders. It looked like a normal smithery like one you would see from an RPG. Armor sets and swords were strewn around, b
  8. "Hey, I don't actually look that bad, right?!...Right??" Though, Euled paused to look back at Nemo and his lack of response. Was he mad at them for killing his "friends" or something? He tracked Nian's finger to look upon a set of blue flowers, the path leading back to where they had began. "Right!" His hand rested on the sword's handle, ready for confrontation. However, a sudden burst of wind had stricken Euled and Nian along with a bolt from the sky. "Urk!" Instinctively, he put an arm up to guard himself. When the wind settled, all that remained was a single big dra
  9. "Well, I think I could do a good job of rallying everyone if their morals are down. Especially with these devilishly handsome good looks." A guild was something he hadn't really paid mind to, not that he intended on joining one before. Maybe one that operates on the frontlines might work...but he doubt it. "Really? I might have to look into one later, then." Finally, he was given the chance to talk about something besides heavy subjects. "The boss?..." A quick glance around proved that not much had changed. The garden remained the same no matter how far they walked, fo
  10. His expression was neutral as Nian's voice oozed with sarcasm and contempt. His expression gauged nothing about what he felt. Finally, when she was done berating him, all Euled did was smile slightly. "...You're pretty cool, huh?" Differing perspectives and worldviews was something Euled didn't mind. "But you're talking like you've given up already. The members of the frontlines are powerful. We've already gotten up to floor 28. Besides, even if they aren't, once I join they'll be strong." "Honestly, I wouldn't mind staying in this game for a while longer. A long while lon
  11. He took a second to respond, mulling over the words she had said to him. Freedom that you don't know the price of, huh? Returning to SAO would be something he would like to do...but staying in it permanently was a different matter. "SAO might be escapism...but escapism has its limits, right? Nothing can beat reality." The words that came out of her mouth next made him take a moment to process it, especially from the way she spoke. It was hard to figure out the meaning. "Well. I've got a family, a career I want to pursue, goals I have...Virtual reality is nice and all
  12. He watched on as Nian dispatched the final monster remaining, drawing his blade back into his sheath after a little bit of clumsiness. It seemed as if Nian was disappointed in him, not like Euled could care less. Again, he put his hands in his pockets and continued walking. Honestly, this quest had been pretty fun so far. The garden did a good job of adding to the nice atmosphere, unchanging yet beautiful. "Fools?" A little harsh, no?" In his eyes, they were brave warriors who had taken up the mantle of clearing SAO for the weak willed who couldn't. If the frontlines didn't exis
  13. No wonder she's so confident...She's strong as hell. The mobs before him were reduced to shreds, in a similar fashion to before. They were in plain sight, the sheer height of them didn't help to hide them in the bushes. Honestly, they looked kinda scary looking. Euled winced at the thought of getting cut by one of those claws. Nian took the initiative and pummeled the four down. Euled drew his blade, looking for any other incoming monsters. His caution was rewarded, as 2 other mantis-like monsters came into his view. The blade connected to the hilt of his sword glowered as he decided to g
  14. He paused for a moment, waiting for a response that never came, though he could tell that Nian was thinking about his words. A boss fight sounded exciting, and Euled was up for the challenge. "Yeah, of course. That's how RPGs work, right? I'm looking forward to beat down a big bad guy." She talked like an empress from an old video game. No wonder she called herself an emperor. It was a bit funny, but if he pointed it out, he doubt the repercussions would be light. I guess she takes a lot of pride in herself. "Sounds good to me!" The next words that came out of her mou
  15. "That's...not what I meant.." Euled decided not to dwell on the topic and kept walking forward, sighing at her words. The emperor of Aincrad?... Though, turning back to Nemo yielded different results. Hah? Those mobs were this guy's friends? It was hard to remember that these guys were NPCs from how lifelike they were, to Euled at least. If he didn't have to slay them, he wouldn't. But this was a different case. A monster befriending an NPC? ..Give me a break. Monsters were what kept them trapped, sparing them wasn't an option. It wasn't like they were any f
  16. "Phew..." He debated using a health potion to restore some health, but Euled decided it best to save it for more monsters up ahead. He doubt this would be the last confrontation they would have. Still, it felt good to kill mobs. The cardinal system made it so the pain felt was barely anything compared to the real world, thankfully. He watched on as she pulled out a coat from her inventory. It looked pretty cool, but why did she get it out? Her armor looked leagues better than the jacket. Euled's thoughts were answered by the coat being shoved into his hands. Sure, she could've done it a t
  17. Not done yet, huh? Another pack of wolves would come, as Nia would dispatch them again with ease. Her armor looked tough: he doubt that the wolves would be able to make any scratches on her. His thought was proven right by a small wolf landing an attack on her; barely doing anything. While he was distracted, another wolf came up to him from the blind spot of his vision and bit his arm. Unlike Nian, Euled didn't have armor. The bite would take a few slivers off his HP, though nothing too serious. "Urk!" He shook off the wolf and readied his sword again, glowing like it had before
  18. He averted his eyes from Nian to look forward from the sound of Nemo's voice. Bushes were littered around the area and a single oak tree stood gaunt, a sort of waypoint, if you could call it that. He listened to Nemo talk about the history of the garden. In reality, Euled didn't really care, but he didn't want to act all rude. Nian voiced his thoughts for him. A little harsh...but whatever. Again, he jogged to catch up and paced himself the same way Nian did. She looked like she knew where she was going, so Euled had to put his trust in her for now. "Huh? What do you mean?"
  19. Somehow Euled could get the feeling she didn't want to co-operate with other people. It was kind of a neccesity in the front-lines, but all she had done so far had screamed "egotistical." If not for raids...then why exactly did she want to become so strong? It was something he had to ask for later. ...Mortal? He fought back the slightly judgmental look creeping into his face. "Mortal" was a nickname he didn't expect someone to use. Oh. Is she one of those...what do you call them..."Chunibyo?" It would explain a lot from her behaviour back at the entrance, but Euled didn't
  20. It seemed like his introduction had cut through the awkwardness of the situation. He was glad that Nemo seemed to be warmer towards him. Euled shoved his hands in his pockets and walked at the same pace as Nemo. "Sounds good to me." They continued walking, as Euled took this time to glance at the various plants and rivers they passed along the way. It was nothing short of pretty, the graphics in SAO doing the scenery justice. It was a miracle that they were this realistic; not that he was complaining. He turned his head over to look at his temporary ally. He doubt they would never me
  21. As he talked, he felt Nian's belitting look on him, peering deep into his back. He stared at the gardener, silently begging him to say something. Euled was about to open his mouth, but the words he intended to say were stolen by Nian. He listened to Nemo speak, an eyebrow raising in confusion. Huh. Maybe we got the wrong guy or something. It was clear as day that this guy was a gardener, but slip ups were something all too common. Still, Euled didn't just want to walk away. It felt hollow after trekking the path so far, and the scenery was nice. I might as well see a few nice si
  22. From the start, her attitude made Euled's hairs stand up. As soon as she turned around to look at him, he felt like she was silently judging him, like he was beneath her or something. It was something that he didn't like one bit. Instinctively, he stepped back a little, tensing up. She definitely looked more experienced than him; not like he'd want to take his chances in a fight or anything. "Yeah...I think??" He looked at her quizically at the disbelief tinged in her words, like she was expecting something else to come out of his mouth. His expectations were halfed in a 50/50 betwee
  23. Ahh...Damn, I gotta level up faster... After walking and running his butt off till his legs turned jelly, he felt content with himself, but the contentment wouldn't last. It was an unending journey that Euled took upon himself to embark on. Sure, he had gained a fair amount of EXP and leveled up, but it was nowhere close enough to catch up to the higher floors. Clearly, he'd have to do a lot more grinding. I guess I should go into a dungeon or something. He didn't even know if SAO had dungeons, but hopefully, there would be at least some that he could explore. As he was travers
  24. "Hm?...Oh, well I'm probably just gonna return to my normal life. Finish school and all that." He hadn't really put much thought into it: it had just been a given that he was going to get himself and everyone in the game out, not like he thought about what he would do after the game was cleared. "I mean...If we were stuck in a death game for two years, I think they'd give us some leeway, haha." It was a little bit of a morbid topic, but Euled figured that there wasn't much they could do about it except fight with all they've got. "Looks awfully like an abandoned cave to me.
  25. "I hope I get to do some of the "chaotic" quests soon." The thought of it got his blood pumping. He was never one to enjoy sitting around and doing nothing. Euled perked up at the mention of an abandoned cave; he had never been to any, and from what he could discern, clearly, this meant a lot to the old man. Something in there was important. "I guess we play the waiting game now." Time passed. The sandstorm was long and windy, it took a while for it to clear. Euled didn't do much: sometimes he would stare off into nothing, sometimes he would fiddle with his sword, sometimes he w
