  1. Ty listened to Freyd's explanation, then gave a nod. So the bosses in this game really did work like those in any other MMO, for the most part. However, that was small comfort, as she'd never been a great raider, and beyond that, knowing exactly which boss did what required someone, or herself, to experience its attacks first-hand. Sighing to herself, she followed Freyd out of the dungeon, picking up the pace as much as she could, wanting to be out of there as soon as possible. She didn't do well in dark places and still slept with the light on at home. Thus, facing skeletons in dreary p
  2. The King suddenly topped over after a strike to his shin and Ty found the skull of their enemy rolling across the floor to rest by her feet. She cringed as she stared down at its empty sockets, still looking on with malice, as if they could come alive again at any moment. Thankfully, that didn't happen, as the skull vanished soon after and Ty loosed a breath of relief. At Frey'd question, Ty pondered it for a second. What exactly had she observed? She paused, recounting the battle in her mind before responding, keeping in mind this could be some kind of test, even in Freyd claimed he was
  3. Strike after strike, the battle turned in Freyd's favor, bringing Ty a sense of relief. It wasn't that she'd doubted Freyd or anything like that, it was just that she knew how unpredictable this game's enemies could be. Not from firsthand experience, of course, but from rumors and conversations she'd overheard at taverns and the like. Some of those had certainly been tall tales, but Ty still considered them a valuable source of information, so her tight grip on the rapier wouldn't relax until she saw the King felled. It certainly seemed he was close to that point, looking at his health bar....
  4. It really seemed like the King was winning, or was at least even with Freyd. That axe certainly didn't look harmless, and even Freyd was meticulously dodging its blows, which meant that, as confident as he was, this opponent was no slouch. Or maybe Freyd was just giving the King some glory before he killed him again. If that was the case, Ty couldn't help but feel uneasy, since this had stopped being a game to her long ago. With a wave of his hand, he claimed this was just a side-effect of a buff, and Ty certainly hoped so. She'd hate having someone else's blood on her hands on account o
  5. Freyd definitely didn't sound used to it as he grunted. If it wasn't a scary battle, Ty would've laughed. But there was no time for that, even though Freyd was throwing out quips. She couldn't understand how her guild leader could be so calm in the face of such a fearsome enemy. Sure, she wasn't a shaky mess, but her eyes kept darting between Freyd and their enemy, just waiting to step in and try to do something, anything to help. The gash in the king's side remained a reassuring sight for the young fighter, and it only grew larger with Freyd's next swing. Despite wanting to attack, Ty k
  6. Ty chuckled when Kil said he'd show her around Japan. She'd forgotten he was from there. It was kind of hard to keep track of where everyone was from since, in the game world, it didn't really matter. Still, it was a nice offer. "Sure, if I had the money to pay for such a trip." Not to mention, it was hard for her to travel alone, and she wasn't going to impose him by bringing someone else along. "Cat cafes have become a thing in Europe too, however rare they may be." she said, grinning. "Never been to one, though, so I'd be happy to come see one. Asia as a whole is very mysterious to u
  7. She nodded. "Yeah, it's neurological. Though, honestly, it often feels very physical, way more than neurological." she admitted. "However, the game world lessened my disability somewhat, so I at least have better balance and can walk on my own. Still slow, knees still slightly bent, but I can. And the mental side stayed, of course." She winced when the King slammed back at Freyd, but her worry seemed to have been for naught, as Freyd managed to deliver a far fiercer blow. She loosed a breath, glaring up at the skeleton. How dare it be so smug, it was an inanimate object! She couldn't do m
  8. Ty just shrugged as the creature vanished. There was nothing she could do about it now. She'd just have to try again. "It's all good, don't worry about it. Maybe the first encounter is bound to be a failure, or it has a really high DC. I don't mind." She patted him on the shoulder sympathetically as he apologized. "I never expected this to be easy at all, in fact, I thought we'd get attacked by monsters or something, So if you ask me, this is going great!" Kil posed an interesting question. Where would she have wanted to go? She furrowed her brow in thought, a hand on her chin as she w
  9. Ty glanced around as the canopy slowly dimmed the path. She was beginning to worry as she really couldn't function well in the darkness. "Hope we can get back in time..." Her musings were interrupted by Kil trying to pronounce her name. He actually did a pretty good job and she found herself looking at the ground when he said it was pretty. "Heh, thanks, my parents chose well, I guess." The rustling nearby interrupted their conversation and Ty was suddenly on alert, scanning the nearby bushes...However, the rustling stopped soon and Ty sighed. "Seems like whatever it was is gone, eh? B
  10. Ty struggled along the precarious terrain, but did her best to keep up, finding foothold after foothold, while listening to Freyd. "I see. So it's not like we're spies or something, we're more like...the backup, the information gatherers." she mused, continuing the trek. "And as for my disability, it's just cerebral palsy." She listened to Frey'd explanation of the boss, brow furrowed. She didn't quite love the idea of an HP sponge, but other than that, the boss sounded relatively harmless to her, as long as Frey'd kept it busy, She'd have to focus on attacking. There was no way to
  11. Ty nodded at Frey'd explanation. It was true, the guild was large and many of its members were people she'd never met, given that they ended up being on missions at different times. "I'd rather not refer to my guild leader with "hey, you", thanks." She chuckled. "But okay, Freyd then." While she found Ty-fly hilarious, she only laughed. "Whatever you prefer, I respond to everything too. Ty or Typhoon, most commonly, but I accept anything." She walked alongside Freyd, keeping her ears and eyes open as they talked for any unusual sounds. She'd joined O&I thinking she'd be further awa
  12. Ty nodded, smiling. "Yeah, we did...Wouldn't want to relive that. I missed so many strikes back there, sorry, sir." Knowing she'd be in a forest area today, Ty chose to wear a black jacket over her usual purple long-sleeved shirt. It was the warmest piece of clothing she had here. Luckily, she also had some black boots, which meant she wouldn't be getting her feet wet. She frowned when Freyd said others had been called away. "Everyone? But...well, I know we're not a huge guild, but still! What happened? Is everyone okay?" Confusion quickly shifted to worry on her face. Ty had to
  13. Firm Anima. That name resonated with Ty now, for it was the name of the guild Kiluia had invited her to. She decided to join because she needed someone to help keep her safe and teach her how to contribute to the community of players at large. After some time of mulling it over, she decided to join the guild's Operations and Intelligence division, deeming it to be the most suitable for her skillset and allowing her to bring the most value to the guild. It was only a few weeks into her joining that she received a notice about a training mission for all members. Immediately, she felt nervo
  14. Ty had expected this to take a good while, as finding and catching cats was no easy feat, even with treats and bait involved. She knew that from real-life experiences, but she had to wonder, in the back of her mind, whether the game's mechanics would change how this hunt would go. It was entirely possible. She frowned at Kil's statement, shrugging. "It's probably deeper in, I don't imagine cats would live so close to where humans reside, right?" she wondered aloud. She laughed quietly when he admitted to using his real name as his avatar, trying hard not to disturb any of the more dang
  15. Ty was mesmerized by the butterfly for a moment, watching as it flew away. It was amazing how friendly the woman seemed towards it, as if there was some unseen bond between them. She accepted the items from the NPC and nodded. "Of course, I will show them nothing but the utmost respect, ma'am." She dipped her head to her once more, as if trying to prove she was trustworthy. She finally had something to go on, a lead to a better life here. Turning to Kil, she grinned, hoping she looked confident. "Yeah, I think so. My rapier and I are ready too." she added firmly. She'd only fought a f
  16. Ty almost felt bad for Pingu, seeing the big tears in her eyes...but she knew it was necessary. The penguin would likely be in more trouble and danger if she were to come along. With an apologetic smile to Pingu, Ty turned and followed Kil down the stairs. "I see, so it's just bait then? That makes more sense." She followed Kil towards the forest, making sure to keep an eye on their surroundings in case she had to come back later on her own. She winced as the humidity suddenly increased, but kept a brave face and trekked on. Ty nodded as they finally found the NPC. "Got it...I'll g
  17. Ty listened to Kil's explanation, leaning back as he washed the dishes. "Random NPC that gives us food? But we already have food, no? So are we going to get more food? Don't get me wrong, I'm not against getting more meals, just seems...excessive." She laughed. "But fair enough, I suppose. The game has its rules, we gotta follow them." It did somewhat disappoint her that Pingu would be staying behind, but knew well enough how mischievous the penguin could get, so perhaps it really would be best if she stayed behind. This, she just nodded to Kil. This left her wondering about t
  18. Ty watched Pingu eat with amusement. She was pretty sure most of the food the penguin was gobbling down was poisonous or bad for actual penguins, but in this world, it had to work differently. She always had to remind herself of this fact when thinking about most things that happened to her here, since the logic was just so different and it sort of annoyed her. "I don't know, I guess I'll decide when I see it! Would be kinda cool to name it after my cats, though it would also make me sad. So we'll see how I feel." Ty shrugged at Kil's question. She finished her food quickly, having a
  19. "Yay, food!" Ty shouted, bouncing over with a laugh. A slight limp remained in her step, but the rest of her disability was pretty much removed in this game, so she was practically properly running towards Kil. She dipped her head to Pingu jokingly, patting her head. "Thank you, m'lady, you're very kind! How are you doing, little buddy, huh? Kil treating you well? Does he need an earful?" she teased. The penguin had grown on her, she had to admit, and it felt good to have friends she could trust here. The offering of food made Ty grin. "Damn, Kil, that's a lot! And you made all of

  21. Ty popped out of the teleporter, looking around. She'd taken Kil's advice and decided to wear a white short-sleeved shirt with "Love" in fancy letters on it and some plain, yet short black pants. Not quite shorts, but three-quarters pants. She glanced around, taking in the sights. It was certainly much more humid here and she found herself shielding her eyes against a flash of the sun through the tall jungle trees' foliage. This was certainly a better climate for her, she decided with a smile. She loved heat, even though she could already feel sweat coating her brow. This was still better t
  22. Ty just laughed when Pengu belly-flopped onto the couch. "Seems she's made the decision for you, Kil." she teased. "I really don't mind if you stay the night, it's the least I could do." She shrugged. "If you wanna make food, sure, just do not feel obligated, okay? We're friends." It was true, however, that Ty had little food in here. She'd meant to go grocery shopping but then got deterred by the cold. Still, she shook Kil's hand. "But okay, deal." She rolled her eyes at Kil's statement about Pingu being a glutton for punishment. "That's a pretty bad attitude to have in this world.
  23. Ty chuckled. "Oh I can agree with that, she definitely acts like a kid." Even as she said that, though, her affection for the penguin was obvious. "Sure, if you don't mind me visiting and stuff. I'd much prefer a jungle to all this snow." Ty huffed in amusement. She really didn't do well in cold weather. Maybe she should've chosen a different area for her shop. "Besides, the cat will probably prefer the jungle as well, I'd assume. How does Pingu handle it?" She glanced at the clock. "Dang, it's late...You should get home and get some sleep." If this were a game, it wouldn't matter,
  24. Hearing Freyd shout that the shark was almost down made Ty look up. She felt a surge of adrenaline and anxiety. This was it. This had to be it. They couldn't keep this up for much longer, after all. It was almost unnerving to see what was under the monstrosity's armor, but Ty couldn't allow herself to be afraid now, or to lose focus. Arcanthus moved towards the shark all of a sudden, and Ty was too slow to stop her. She could only stare in pure shock as Arcanthus stood in front of the shark, then struck at its underbelly from below, holding on tight. Her breath caught and she didn't even
  25. Ty flinched when she saw Terra-Figma was now much angrier. She knew she should've expected it, but that didn't mean she was happy about it or that she wasn't scared! "Arcanthus, please be careful!" she shouted when she saw her ally clinging to the shark, with her sword stuck in its tail. Just as she yelled, the girl was thrown off and rolled on the ground, only to stop moving after. "Are you okay?!" she shouted again, running over to her to shield her if the shark attacked again. Raising her rapier, she tried to strike the shark's legs as it came back around, but her hands were shaking
