"Well, close, no?" She laughed. "What do you think about diplomacy? Ever been to Germany? I have some friends from there, and I actually speak the language, fun fact. I tried learning Japanese as well, but it was too hard...I loved it, but the counting was just too damn hard..." "Huh! The forest sounds great...as long as there aren't any giant bugs there or something. Fishing sounds good, though. It's very relaxing, some say. I've never been a fan, but I could try it." She shrugged. "Apparently, I'm good at finding things near water." she joked, remembering her quest with Morningstar, whe

Ty nodded thoughtfully when Kil said Pingu brought a bit of life into his. She knew that feeling. "Mhmm, I know, right? My cats did that for me at home! If I get a cat here, I'm totally naming it after one of my cats." She blew into her mug and took a sip, closing her eyes contently. Nothing was better than chocolate. "Elegance and etiquette? Why? You weren't some noble or prince out there, right?" she teased. "We should game and read together then. I suppose, anyway. Maybe we'll be fed up with fantasy after being stuck here." She shook her head, letting go of that thought. It was one f

Ty let Kil do his thing, watching him as he moved around the kitchen. She was glad that food and water worked the same way here as in reality, it removed some of the anxiety of this world. Besides, it was a good way for her to learn how to do this herself so she didn't have to rely on him as much. She gazed at the three cups in confusion. "Wait, you're giving Pingu hot cocoa? Isn't she a penguin? Are penguins allowed to drink this stuff?" She was pretty sure they weren't, but this wasn't the real world, so who knew. Ty shrugged at Kil's question. "Not much to say, really. I'm just

"Good, I'd rather not lose a friend." Ty smiled. She wasn't one to trust easily, but she somehow felt she could trust Kil. Why, she had no idea. He just had that kind of aura, the aura of someone who wouldn't let his allies suffer no matter what. She hoped she wasn't wrong. She'd also promised herself not to get too attached to anyone here, as anyone could die at any moment...but it was hard when people helped her. And none had helped her as much as Kil had. "Cocoa sounds great, sure!" She nodded eagerly, folding her hands in her lap and leaning back. "Shouldn't I be the one serving you,

[PP-05] Sharkbait, the Third? <<Bloodstained Land>>
Typhoonflame replied to Freyd's topic in Beginner Floors
Ty got a sense of foreboding when Freyd said it was time to change things. Change how, what was he planning to do? She didn't have time to think about it, though, as he'd already set his plan into motion. She just hoped it would work. All they had to do was land a hit, right? That shouldn't be too hard, surely? She'd done it before, even though it hadn't done much damage, so she could do it again. She had to. "Yeah, I'm on it!" Ty called out to Freyd, nodding. She was gripping her rapier so hard that her knuckles had gone white, so she took a deep, long breath to refocus. It was now -
Right....aggro was a thing in this game. She'd played other MMOs, so how had she forgotten? Yet another thing for her to worry about, how great. Oh well, she never expected any of this to be easy, simple or safe. There were still many more systems she had to understand. She'd barely scratched the surface, if that. It was daunting to be sure. "I'm not one to deny help, so." Ty chuckled, winking. "Sure, as long as you promise not to run headfirst into danger or something. Gods know what awaits us on the higher floors, after all..." In truth, she hadn't expected him to stay, but that w

"Huh, that's not too bad!" she commented about the highest floor he'd reached. It was definitely higher than she'd been. Heck, this floor was her highest! The fights sounded genuinely horrifying and Ty found herself gripping the edges of her chair as she imagined herself in that same situation, fighting a boss she couldn't even imagine the look off with other people, potentially watching them die... The idea of using a bow was definitely a good one. She'd considered it before, but didn't really think she had the dexterity or hand-eye coordination for it. Still, it was worth a try. "If I

Ty accepted the guild invite as soon as it popped up in front of her, grinning. "Thanks! I'll have to think of the place where I want to join at then. How is everyone there? I mean, they must be decent people if you hag around them, right?" she asked, watching in amusement as Kil patted Pingu's head. "Fine, fine, we can trade." Ty relented, shaking her head at Kil's earnestness. Other people would've taken the free stuff and just gone with it, but not him. "I wonder where we'll go to gather more stuff. What's the highest floor you've reached?" she asked, tilting her head slightly. S

"Sugar? Don't you make sweets? You should always have sugar, woe is you if you don't!" She laughed. She did obviously get his meaning, but it was too good of an opportunity to pass up. "Oh right, jeez...I almost forgot to apply to your guild." Ty facepalmed, dragging her hand down her face afterwards. "Thank you for reminding me. How do I do that?" she asked, browsing through her menus. Right then, Pingu dropped in, almost quite literally. "Pingu...dear, I know you have slippers, but I believe you can hop and open doors, no? If you want, I could install a pet door for you." she teas

"I couldn't tell you! If I'd told you, it wouldn't be a surprise!" She laughed, looking up at the hat Kil put on her head. "It's fine...It's not that cold. I mean, okay, it's certainly colder than other places I've been in, but I'll manage. I'm slowly getting used to the weather here. Still wish I'd chosen a warmer floor." She chuckled. She was very glad Kil thought her shop could be successful and she wasn't wasting her time by doing this. She grinned back at him, amused. "Why of course! There isn't much, just this room and the back, with a few herbs. I need to go out and gather more s

Ty grinned to herself as she waited for Kil. She didn't have many friends, but she invited the ones she had to see her shop a few days ago. All of them had wished her good luck, but since none of them were shop owners themselves, they were unable to give her any good advice on how to run her business. That was where Kil would have to come in, if he wanted to. He was, after all, the only person Ty knew who had any experience with running a shop. Especially since she hadn't had time to ask Morningstar if he knew anything about such things. She made a mental note to do so later and headed outside

This was it. Ty was finally going to get her own shop! As she stepped back, Ty admired the newly-painted exterior of the door, the sunshade above it was an olive green color, the golden letters on it shining in the sunlight: The Nurturing Flare. She didn't have anything to sell yet, of course, but that would change soon. With a grin, she entered the interior. It was a small, two-room shop, with a main room and a smaller back room for storage. There was a front desk, of course, made of simple wood. All the shelves and everything were wooden, albeit she couldn't afford many of them yet,

Ty hummed in agreement at Kil's words. It was indeed time to get their asses in gear, her ass specifically, since she hadn't done much yet. She had a list now: get sword arts, set up her shop, get out there more, help out as much as she could. "Japan? Wow! I've always wanted to go there! You're lucky, I'm still stuck in Europe, in the UK, actually. So that's pretty far from you." She wasn't going to ask about his dad's work now, knowing that getting into politics with people usually led to arguments,, and besides, it didn't look like Kil himself was much of a politician. Not like real

"It wasn't that tough, really. At least I don't think so." She shrugged. She was used to pitying glances from others, so she was more than relieved to see Kil's gaze held none of that, just compassion. "Yeah...it's a shame, no? This game would've been so cool. But now, it's been tainted by all this garbage about killing people and whatnot. What's the point, besides lunacy? This gives the developer nothing but a bad rep and criminal status. It doesn't even benefit them politically, so why...Why trap us?" she said, thinking aloud. She'd been thinking about that for a while, and the answer e

Ty blinked at Kil as he lay back, unsure what to make of it. Was he really so upset by his gathering failures? To be honest, she could kind of understand it, but she also supposed she was used to failure here, as she was still very new to this game and didn't understand half of its systems. She sighed. "Yeah, I was stoked when mine came in too, I could finally live in a fantasy world and feel more...normal. I never really thought about my disability much, but I did want to know what it would feel like to walk freely. Who knew I'd actually get to live here, permanently. I wonder if I'll ev

Ty didn't really mind Pingu throwing ants around as she herself was prone to killing spiders and other such creepy-crawlies. She simply felt squeamish at the mere sight of one. However, she didn't kill them if they didn't enter her apartment or personal space. She nodded as Kil explained why he had to poke things. It was an MMO after all, which meant that drops like food ingredients were drops, and they usually only came from mobs. Ty had to admit that a jungle sounded great. She'd never been to one, given that she'd been born in an urban city and had thus only seen jungle animals

"Just don't go around provoking things then, easy right?" she chuckled. In truth, it was never that simple and it was the main reason for her permanent stay in the Town of Beginnings. You simply never knew if something would randomly attack you just because it felt like it. Just like these herbs felt like not appearing when she needed them. Ty liked the idea of someone always being around to assist her if she needed help. Gods knew she needed it anyway, besides, the more friends, the better! Which brought her mind back to getting a familiar. She could send it into spaces she herself coul

"You never know, something may be out to kill us at any moment, for all we know. It's SAO, after all." she commented, semi-seriously. She managed to find some herbs nearby, picking them up as she passed by. These will do nicely, I think...They look usable. Hearing that Kiluia could cook, she perked up, listening with interest. She'd been trying to find food similar to what she was used to eating at home. Her favorite food had always been pasta, but she hadn't seen too much of that here, mostly meats, vegetables and fruits and, especially in the Town of Beginnings, boar meat. She could

Ty leaned down and started gathering plants nearby....however, she couldn't find much but weeds and cursed. "Dang, seems you're better at this than me, huh?" she commented, taking the plant form Kil. "True. We're not dead. We won't be dead. We'll beat this stupid devs and show them who they're messing with." she said with confidence the source of which she did not know. "But yeah, I can understand that...I miss the small things, I mostly miss the food too, honestly. Have you noticed how...bland it tastes here? At least it did to me at first." "About your guild...is it open to member

Talking about the past and her real life got Ty a bit sad, she had to admit. She'd thought she was getting used to this place, but apparently...no, it still bothered her that she was stuck here. She reasoned with herself that it wasn't anything to be ashamed of and sighed. "Your career choice sounds good." She nodded. "Wait, you're younger than me and already more successful in this game? You'd think I'd overtake my juniors." she joked, chuckling a little. "I'd just graduated two years prior to this and got a job a little later...Bet I'm fired by now. Or considered dead. Not sure which is

[PP-05] Sharkbait, the Third? <<Bloodstained Land>>
Typhoonflame replied to Freyd's topic in Beginner Floors
"I had to pull aggro!" Ty argued back when Freyd said to be careful with the hate they were receiving from the shark. It wasn't like she had a choice, she had to attack while she had the chance! Freyd told them to keep moving and she sighed. Movement was the worst thing for her because she still wasn't used to having a non-disabled body. But whatever, she'd try and stab this thing again. she just had to. But seeing everyone miss again discouraged her. Would she even come out of this alive? Would any of them? And if they didn't...what was all of this for? Just for naught? With a deep -
"Oh? No cats?" she asked, shoulders slightly drooping. She'd really been looking forward to having a cat familiar, but any other cool animal would work. She wondered what else the shops offered. But that was not something she could worry about now. Her main task now was to start her new quest and learn alchemy so she could set up her shop. She gave her new friend a nod and walked into the alchemist's shop, dipping her head to the owner. She spoke to the owner about what alchemy entailed, watching with wide eyes as the shopkeeper showed her the basic supplies and tools she used to make var

As soon as Ty got permission to pet Pingu, she beamed and bent down to pet her. Out of habit due to her real-life disability, she was careful not to bend her knees too much, even though SAO mostly eliminated the effects of it. "Who's a good girl? Hello buddy, my name's Ty, I hope we can be friends!" "Man, I really gotta get one of these when I get to the fourth floor then, I could feel like a cool witch then!" She laughed, continuing to pet the penguin some more, before straightening to follow Pingu and her master out of the town. "I don't know what I'd want...Oh! Maybe a cat? I had two

"I like happy faces too, it's why I want to open my shop. So I can help people on their adventures like others have helped me. A form of giving back to the community, if you will." she commented, although she found it funny that, while he wasn't struggling, she was definitely low on col. "That's fair. I'm usually a magic user in most games, so I was honestly disappointed to find such fighting styles missing from this game, but it is what it is. So I did the next best thing: supportive paralyzing rapier." she added, chuckling. "I respect your conviction, though." Ty blinked at the lit
