  1. "Free? Seriously? You don't have to do that, I'd be happy to pay!" Ty insisted immediately, quickly accepting the party and friend request. This guy seemed like a decent sort, so why not? Allies were always welcome. "And if by alert, you mean hyper-alert, then yeah, that's me!" She laughed, shaking her head, "Still, I'd really love to try crafting, it seems like a complex, but necessary part of this game, life, whatever it is now." She nodded at his suggestion to go outside the gate. It seemed reasonable, not straying too far from civilization, yet far enough to gain materials and
  2. Ty felt like this fight was turning to chaos too soon. Wasn't the guy in charge supposed to be some kind of expert? Would an inexperienced player have out that placard out there? Was she a fool to have trusted him, and this whole party? That was what she had going through her mind as she missed her initial strike. "Typhoonflame... sound like TIFF, if I think it fast enough. Apologies in advance if you don't like nicknames, but that one might stick for awhile." said the leader of their party, and Ty almost rolled her eyes. "Can we talk about that later, trying not to die here!" she
  3. Ty had heard of guilds before, but had never joined one due to just not knowing what she would even do in one. It wasn't like she didn't want to join a community, in fact, she yearned for it many times. However, she'd only ever gotten invited to weird guilds or some that were too small to even be called more than a party. "Nice to meet you, Kiluia. That's a cool shop you're running!" she commented, smiling. "Don't worry, I startle very easily." She chuckled. That much was true, any loud noises startled her easily and she had to be careful when walking the streets to not scare herself a
  4. Ty jumped a little when the white-haired man approached her. Not due to his looks, mind you, just due to the fact she'd been lost in thought. She blinked at him, then let out an awkward chuckled, wondering just how stupid she must have looked, standing there and staring at that stall for so long. Well, it didn't really matter now, did it? Besides, maybe this guy could help her with what she was thinking about: building up a small business and helping fellow adventurers. She imagined it would be biting off more than she could chew, but she also felt like there wasn't much else for her to do in
  5. It was just another day in the Town of Beginnings. No matter how many times Typhoonflame left this little town for other things, she always came back. There was some sort of innate nostalgia to it she could never shake, no matter how many new things she experienced. Walking through the streets, faster than before, now that she'd gotten used to having a slightly more abled body in this world, she observed her surroundings. She was currently staying in a nearby inn and decided it would be a good idea to check what was for sale. She knew she'd have to get some better gear soon, or be left i
  6. When the strange guy said this would make a full group, Ty blinked. So he'd been planning to organize this, huh? Was it a death trap...It involved sharks, so maybe it was. Most things in this game were, but she needed the experience points badly. Just as she was thinking that, the apparent party leader mentioned the amount of EXP gained, and Ty grinned. This was her chance to get stronger...even if the threat of death loomed, and she swallowed. "Y-yeah, understood." she stammered when the guy mentioned how easily they could die. Way to make them uneasy...Not a great way to motivate peopl
  7. Ty blinked in surprise as the placard appeared. What kind of spell was that, did it create real plastic, or was it just an illusion? And what the hell was shark bait training? They weren't hunting sharks, right? This wasn't something that sounded right to her...or safe at all. Even though she had a weapon and more col to buy armor, she didn't trust herself to be able to handle a quest of this caliber. And yet...she found herself walking over to the two players nearby. "Um...hello. I couldn't help but overhear what you were talking about. I'm only level six, but if you could explain what
  8. After her adventure with the boars, Ty had taken to travelling. Usually with caravans or by carriage, never alone. But she took a few odd jobs here and there, to gather materials, plants, run errands...anything to get some col and experience. Her latest travels took her to a desert town, where she was forced to shield her face from the sand winds. She was here looking for some rare gems she could sell, or something similar, seeing as she was planning on setting up her own little shop and helping people in the Town of Beginnings. As she was passing by, flicking her rapier gently as she wa
  9. Ty physically cringed when Pete wiped the letter on his barrel. Really, he0d decided to be that petty over this? One would think he had more wisdom at his age...but nope. She suppressed a sigh, and her gag reflex, as she gingerly held the letter. She carried it like that all the way to Dorian, and handed it to him like one would hand over a tissue full of snot. "Here, I know it's not clean, but there was nothing I could do. I hope it will suffice." she said to the mayor. Relieved that she was allowed to keep her weapon and get some kind of clout from the mayor with this, Ty sighed
  10. Ty wondered if Pete spent all day just waiting for a random treasure to pop up and get caught on his fishing rod's hook. That would be a really funny thing to imagine, and she had to suppress a laugh. "Sure, I suppose that's true, but it's rare." she commented, turning to the pile of things near Pete to search it for anything valuable. To her surprise, as she was digging through the pile, she felt wood under her hands. It felt slightly old and moldy, but she tugged at it anyway. Her efforts were rewarded with a small chest, and when she glanced at Star and Pete, she saw they were both su
  11. This very much reminded Ty of a game she'd played as a kid, where the player had to catch fish as they were coming in and avoid eels. She'd been absolutely terrible at it, but the game still held a special place in her heart for its soundtrack and characters...so maybe she could do this, even if it was slightly annoying. Ty rolled her eyes at Pete's complaint about the mayor. "You have no idea, sir. He's taken to screaming about needing help for all to hear. Took this quest to shut him up, really." She laughed. "I'm not much good at fishing though, but...how did whatever you owed the mayo
  12. Ty didn't expect any thanks from Lyle, the guy was too self-centered and rude to do that. She gave him the tusks and stepped back, grinning. "Told ya we'd get it done, hah!" However, for all her enthusiasm, Lyle just grunted about what he used the tusks for, which was apparently for sword hilts, and sent them on their way. At least she'd gotten something out of this, Ty reasoned, thanking Lyle for the weapon he'd given her. She hadn't even expected that much. Ty left the smithy after that and turned to Star. "Who's the guy Lyle mentioned? He sounds like just your average fisherman?
  13. "Oh hello little guy, what brings you my way...? Don't worry, I just need a tusk of yours and I'll let you sleep!" she told the little boarlet before throwing another truffle at it. It bonked it on the side and the creature collapsed. Ty grinned and gestured for Star to saw a tusk off, since she herself didn't have the means to do so. She felt like she was going to collapse as the adrenaline left her body, making her have to sit on the ground and breathe deeply. She'd actually done it! Ventured out and even tranquilized not one, not two, but three boarlets! WIth a bit of help, of course,
  14. Ty chuckled when Star suggested throwing weapons. Honestly, it wasn't illogical, even if she'd never thought about it. It was a lot like magic, whether she slung a dagger or a spell, it required the same amount of accuracy to be successful. "I'll keep that in mind when choosing my next weapon." she said. It could be the solution she'd been looking for. She caught the tusks Star tossed her and put them in her backpack. "Well, that's one down...Time to get that guy next, right?" she asked, following Star's pointing finger with her gaze to find her next target. Without wasting any time
  15. "Back straight, right!" she called back, nodding and trying to straighten her back as Star instructed. However, it was hard for her to focus on that when she had a boar in front of her who could actually manage to hit her any second. She had to act before she got hurt, no matter what. Time to change tactics. She knew she could use the tranquilizer...Maybe she could learn to use her sword on some target dummies later, or ask Star to spar with her. There was no point in getting hurt if she couldn't hit this little creature now, it was simply too nimble. With a grumble, she picked up o
  16. Ty didn't particularly like the sound of new field bosses appearing in the game and trying to kill players. It was so sad, actually. In another time, she would've loved having a new update to mess around with. New items, areas, mounts...she'd always loved collecting mounts. But now...she had to rely on her own two legs and this sword to kill this boarlet. With encouragement from Star, she struck again, trying to aim better this time, face set in a determined expression...Only to miss again, as the boar dodged to the side and then tried to attack her with its tusks. She let out a yelp and
  17. "That can't be, are updates being released while we're trapped here? I was under the impression that stopped when we entered, no?" she asked, confused, her brow furrowed in thought. "I will say that the blacksmith guy was a total prick, can't believe he even gets any money with how he acts...Some people..." she added. However, she followed Star to the plains without further complaints, although he could probably tell she was nervous by the way she held her new sword's hilt. She gripped it tightly as she imagined the upcoming fight with the boars. Ty was tempted to start with the t
  18. "Somewhere else? Alright, any suggestions?" she asked, looking over at Star. When he suggested a nearby cafe, she went inside with him. She'd never really been to many cafes in real life or in-game, so she ordered her usual: a chocolate cake and a fizzy soda. Ty was glad Zackariah seemed to appreciate the materials they'd brought him, but was surprised when all she got was some weird so-called draught. she thought Star had said she'd learn alchemy here. Was the NPC bugged? However, she didn't say anything and just politely thanked the man and left the shop. It wasn't any better at
  19. "Awww, too bad!" Ty joked when Star said he'd start her off with something that wasn't a five-headed dragon. In truth, she wondered if there was anything fiercer than that dragon up there, on the 100th floor. Everyone spoke of that place as if it was the holy grail for them, their salvation. It was, in a way, since that was their way out. All they had to do was beat the boss of that floor. And yet none of the "pro gamers" had managed it yet. While she was thinking, a boar came at her, charging with fury. She screamed, shielding herself with her arms, as if that would help. She'd ha
  20. Ty listened to Star's list of things he'd seen in awe. It sounded amazing! As an avid fan of dragons, hearing about the sighting of a five-headed dragon excited her as much as it terrified her. She couldn't imagine she'd be able to kill such a beautiful and fierce creature easily. She'd never been particularly good at combat in games. Her forte lay in roleplay and social interactions, as well as supporting teammates. Anything but just brute-forcing her way through enemies. For some reason, she could only carry a fight in a game if she was playing a supportive role. "Those things sound int
  21. Ty winced at Star's tone. "Yeah, yeah, I know, I'm weird. I just never thought I'd leave a settlement again, you know? Turns out that even the mere outskirts have boars which need killing. And I'm still level..." she paused to check her menu. "Two. Ouch. Wow...just wow. But yeah!" She laughed at herself. It was pretty lame, she knew, but she'd always imagined this whole thing would be over soon. She'd never thought she'd actually have to live here, but here they were. so she never bothered, almost vowing to never play MMOs again after this trauma. Yet, she knew she shouldn't complain, be
  22. Ty took the fondue and ate it bit by bit while they walked outside the city, offering some to Star as well. (consuming Zackariah's Fondue - +3 LD) It was actually pretty good, for this game's food anyway. Maybe she was finally getting used to this world's methods of sustenance? Gods, she hoped not. She went on to search for the things Zackariah had asked for while Morningstar kept watch. Once again, she was reminded that she really needed a weapon, and quickly. She made a mental note to ask her companion about it later. Ty gathered up whatever she could find and what looked like a u
  23. "Lessons, huh? I guess that makes sense." Ty commented when Morningstar mentioned the three lessons. These seemed to be tutorial quests, huh? How had she managed to miss them before? She could've done them and been out of this small town ages ago! Although, she supposed she'd always thought that Dorian was a player, so she'd never even thought to start his quest. Goodness, am I stupid...? she thought to herself in annoyance. The smells of the place hit her like a brick, to put it lightly, and she coughed a little. However, after a moment of adjusting, she took a calming breath. She coul
  24. "Zackariah, huh...Think I've heard the name before..." Ty mused, tapping her chin in thought. She had to remind herself that this was, in fact, a game and this was probably a fetch quest. As much as she usually didn't like those kinds of quests (who did, really?), she nodded. "Sure, Dorian, Star and I can check this out for you." Better pay well. she added mentally. She just nodded to Star. "Lead the way, I suppose? I assume you know where it is better than me." While they walked, Ty took her time to take in the sights and remember the way back. She was absolutely terri
  25. "You don't, huh? I suppose...we've become NPCs in our own way, huh? Inhabitants of this world, I mean. Forever." She sighed, looking away in thought. Really, how long had she been here? A week or two...? Probably...she'd lost count. It didn't really matter. She didn't even know if she wanted to go home. She had a really kind family and missed them, sure, but aside from that, she had no friends or partner. Some of her friends had come with her to SAO and were now trapped here as well. Some had moved on to higher floors and made her promise to catch up, which she did, to ease their minds,
