Nexscarecrow 0 Posted March 17, 2014 #1 Share Posted March 17, 2014 Floor 13 (Or I guess any other floor if 13 is taken) A floor entirely run by monsters, all the inhabitants of the towns have been killed, and monsters now roam the streets. The towns are abandoned and the buildings are falling apart. The floor itself is always either raining, or raining ash, It is also covered in a large fog making it difficult to locate the floor dungeon, or even tell where you're going...Outside the town large monsters roam free, they are extremely dangerous, and should be avoided Several quests that can be done. - Finding the floor dungeon Finding the floor dungeon will be a difficult task, normally you could just look up and see it, but floor 13 is covered in fog making that near impossible. A group must travel floor 13 and find the dungeon. - Reunion A small girl is crying in a run down building, she desperately want you to find her lost older sister, who is hidden somewhere in the town. You escort her around town, and she attempts to guide you through it. At the end you find her sister, the two girls reunited fade away, now ready to move on to the next plain of existence together. - The devouring beast In the main town of floor 13 lives a monster, this monster is the size of a building and kills nearly anything in its way, including other monsters. It is slow but can do a ton of damage. Killing it releases a ton of spirits now able to move on to the next life... thanks to you ((Thats about it, feel free to add more. And this is totally a suggestion, so I wont feel offended if you dont use it. I choose floor 13 as 13 is an unlucky number in most cultures, though it would probably work better on a higher floor. Forgot to mention, most quests in the town would involve helping spirits move on.))
Nikki Styx 0 Posted March 17, 2014 #2 Share Posted March 17, 2014 Sounds really good... I might hang out there...
Saix 0 Posted March 17, 2014 #3 Share Posted March 17, 2014 If it were to be used, it would present some pretty horrifying new circumstances to the game. Thus far, the only 'safe' areas have been in the cities and in random Safe Zones inside the dungeons themselves, where players are automatically set to 'immortal object' status to prevent being killed by either monsters or other players. If we did come across a floor where the city, for whatever reason, no longer offered that safe haven, then it would be a sign that our version of Aincrad had officially taken a darker turn then the series ever hinted at. Nexscarecrow 0 Posted March 17, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted March 17, 2014 Thats what I was going for. Just a super dark, and creepy floor, with no real safe zones. The entire floor wants you dead, and I thought it would lead to some interesting situations.
Shard 0 Posted March 18, 2014 #5 Share Posted March 18, 2014 I was once considering a floor like that where even towns are not safe, but I didn't really know how exactly we went about deciding what's on what floor? I always assumed that the first people to reach the floor decided what it was like, or something like that. Assuming the floor did not have a canon appearance.
Nexscarecrow 0 Posted March 18, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted March 18, 2014 Im pretty sure Zero makes all the floor descriptions.
Garou 0 Posted March 23, 2014 #7 Share Posted March 23, 2014 Kind of intense for Floor 13, in my opinion .-.

Nexscarecrow 0 Posted March 23, 2014 Author #9 Share Posted March 23, 2014 Kind of intense for Floor 13, in my opinion .-. Your probably right on that one. Ill start looking for unlucky numbers that are higher...
Garou 0 Posted March 23, 2014 #10 Share Posted March 23, 2014 I mean I love the idea, and everything. Sounds great! Just, you know.... THE SIZE OF A BUILDING How about Floor 69? ;D

THE SIZE OF A BUILDING How about Floor 69? ;D I meant like a small building, also its pretty slow. Sort of like a smaller version of a colossi from shadow of the colossus. Nikki Styx 0 Posted March 23, 2014 #12 Share Posted March 23, 2014 Id almost like to see this being a Zombie's or vampires or some form of undead style floor. Plenty of undead monsters with the boss being a Vampire Lord/Necromancer of some sort.
Inu 0 Posted March 23, 2014 #13 Share Posted March 23, 2014 I think this floor sounds amazing, especially for when the first group of people hit it. Imagine the reaction to portal into town and just look around like... "uhm... what?" I think it presents a very creative challenge, and I like the little quest thing you've come up with as well. Very suiting. I hope this gets approved... it's perfect for "13"
Nikki Styx 0 Posted March 23, 2014 #14 Share Posted March 23, 2014 Assuming its floor 13... The most common monster could be a Zombie. They come in hordes, so you cant fight one at a time. 5/5 HP 1 DPS Given there slow speed you can land a hit on a 4 instead of 5. All in all not impressive right? Well what if that 1 DPS is mandatory regardless of armor rating. Suddenly You have to group up or evade just to survive. Its not a solo party floor then. If the Zombies are in groups of 10 and up its a better challenge for higher players. The you could have vampires as an uncommon enemy. 14/14 HP 5/5 DPS 2 Mandatory Damage must score a 6 or higher to land the hit given there higher evasion
Inu 0 Posted March 23, 2014 #15 Share Posted March 23, 2014 I think the zombie idea is pretty cool, especially because it could be like all the NPC's from the town. However, I'm a little more iffy when it comes to 'vampires' though. I think we should remember to sort of stay away from fantasy based things. This game didn't have any magic or anything, just monsters. So bringing reality based mythological creatures into play or whatever seems a little odd... (I know there's dragons, but... those are more creature/monster like then vampires). But the zombie thing can be played off of to suit the city/setting in general... maybe it's the devouring beast's fault. Maybe he either has some sort of toxic saliva or something that stimulates a zombie-like plague. I don't know. I'm just really not into the vampire idea. Seems pretty cheesy. But we could have like lesser zombies, and greater zombies, ghosts/poltergeists (sort of like the little girl you help, but maybe ones that trick or deceive you), or just like monster creatures in general. Abnormalities that were created by the devouring beast, or something. Iunno. I'm just rambling now.
Nexscarecrow 0 Posted March 23, 2014 Author #16 Share Posted March 23, 2014 The zombie idea is neat but I originally thought of some twisted corpse demon things, Silent Hill type stuff. But I actually really dig the zombie thing, having a giant horde of corpses following you is cool. The vampire thing I don't like as much but I'm sure certain people could make it work. Nikki Styx 0 Posted March 23, 2014 #17 Share Posted March 23, 2014 Yeah When I read it the vampire thing seemed a little blerg... But Still like the zombies idea.. Though maybe we should call them Ghouls instead... I really like the idea that even the players with higher damage soaking are in danger.. If you have 10 guys hitting you for a guaranteed 1 damage each.. suddenly even the really bug level 20 guys have to pair up or party up to complete the floor.

I think I agree with the humanoid creatures not to be pushed too much, like a wizard or a vampire as an enemy. By this, I'm saying that anything with implied human intelligence is probably a stretch for SAO. However, I am planning a giant humanoid witch doctor boss for an optional boss in one of my threads, but he's more like an insane... thing like Nick the Renegade.
Inu 0 Posted March 23, 2014 #19 Share Posted March 23, 2014 I'm all in for them being referred to as 'ghouls', keeps it vague from being human-related. Because for some reason that's semi-discerning. :P Mannn. I'm really excited for this floor. <
9Lives 0 Posted March 23, 2014 #20 Share Posted March 23, 2014 i don't know about "ghouls". that name for me is to strongly tied to vampires. a Ghoul being a humans who is a slave of a vampire and is empowered by the vampires blood. as for zombies, i think that would be awesome. but what would make it even better is if the game generated the appearance fot eh zombies based on the players who died. so you'd be fighting enemies that looked like dead former players. it would have a big psychological effect on players as well.
