[PP-F5] Land Shark Attack. <<Blood in the Sand>> (Shizuka)

In the barren desert of the Fifth floor, it's a good place to avoid the cold of the winter. Nobuyuki was walking around, trying to find the field boss that existed within the golden sands of the desert. Accompanied with him was Shizuka, the supporter of the Azure Brigade. Fighting a boss this early for him, he's going to need someone to help, and who else better than Shizuka herself. To him, she seemed like the perfect person he could asked for help. He still going to have to do all the work, but when troubles came, Shizuka could be there to help him heal, or at least provide some crowd control when possible. The two roamed around the desert for a while, both sunken in the silence atmosphere that covered the whole desert. Nothing eventful had happened so far, but the shifting hills of sands. 

"So... how have things been for the passed few day?" Nobuyuki asked, broke the awkward silent between the two. He didn't know what do to, for most of the time he spent alone, or in a group of many people where he could just stay in the shadows and helped out when needed. For situations like this, he felt uncomfortable. Still, he hid it pretty well not to be noticeable by normal eyes. Walking around in the empty barren desert, he sighed, continuing looking for the field boss.

[Shizuka 0]

Shizuka had her eyes and her entire face hidden within that cloak hood of hers. Indeed, she had no desire to communicate with the boy who was currently walking in front of her. All she wanted to do was just to get this quest done with quickly so she can leave and have some sleep. Yes, Shizuka had changed greatly since the last time that tragic event which happened in the snow... An event that should never ever be mentioned as only two other people know of it... Still, detail should not be given here. With a sigh, she whipped off a bit of sweat from inside the warm cloak that she has been wearing since the beginning of the game. Brings back so many memories. Shizuka thought. I haven't seen a lot of people for a while. Shizuka realized but gave it no further thought as she would rather not come in contact with any of them either. Suddenly, she was asked a question by Tobi, probably his attempt to prevent awkwardness but she had rather have the silence than a conversation. Hence, with her lazy mouth, Shizuka whispered a very quiet two words. "Just fine," Shizuka stated, as she felt sweat forming above her forehead once again. This place is so horrible. Shizuka thought, feeling the burning sunshine blaring against her entire body, forming a long lake of shadow from behind her and covering over a few desert animals plus a few cactuses. This is such a bad time to be venturing in the middle of the desert.

Nobuyuki shrugged, looked forward and continued on. Something had changed in her indeed, and he could tell, but someone like him wouldn't be able to do a thing with it. Therefore, he might as well just stay shut for the time being. Then, beyond the shifting sandy hill, Nobuyuki saw something. Something moving beneath the sand, coming down the hill and toward their direction. No doubt, it is the field boss the info-breaker mentioned. The Landshark coming toward them at a rather fast paced, swinging under the sand. Nobuyuki pulled out the two potion he had bought from Shizuka's shop, and opened the cap of the Damage Mitigation potion. Swiftly he gulped the potion down. His armor shone for a brief second as he do so. "The boss still have a long way to go. Best to remain here and wait." He thought, as he popped the cap of the Small Damage potion, readied at hand

Shizuka watched as the Sand Shark showed itself. Indeed, the time that Shizuka had completed this quest, the shark had not been so obedient but here, it had just decided to approach the two players that have accepted this quest. Oh, wait. I have to add him to a party.  Shizuka though as she opened up her menu and clicked a few buttons. Or this quest might go to waste. Shizuka realized and with a sigh, clicked the check button, sending the man a party invite without any words of her own. He can read it and then accept it. Shizuka thought with logic before staring at the Sand Shark that was still rather far away. Indeed, it was an intimidating sight. How Kayaba had thought of having a Shark that was a predator of the land of gold, Shizuka had no idea. Indeed, her mind was filled with creativity and bizarre ideas but a sand shark was far beyond her reach. She then yawned, signaling her carelessness as the Sand Shark came at them with slow speed. Indeed, she had no idea why the boy in front of her had taken the potions at a time such as this.... The Sand Shark was supposed to be quite an easy boss... well, at least it was quite easy when she had completed it... However, when she did, she was with quite a powerful player.  I wonder how he is... Shizuka thought and then, suddenly, the Sand Shark was upon them. "Prepare for combat." Shizuka said with utmost seriousness.

Before Nobuyuki knew of it, the Shark has already under him. The ground rumbled before them as the shark approached. The giant shark emerge from beneath the sand, as it leaped into the air. As quick as he could he jumped out of harms way, dragging Shizuka along. The shark dove face first back down into the sand. It seemed to disappeared under the ground. Looking around, Nobuyuki saw nothing. He couldn't even feel where the ground is rumbling. He stood up from the ground, the potion was still in his hand. He quickly drank the potion down. "Alright, one final step before I'm ready."

Shizuka sighed as she bent over to take some breaths. Indeed, the Sand Shark had suddenly burst forwards with pace, catching both Shizuka and Tobi off guards. However, she had been ready to dodge the attack and did not require Tobi to forcefully drag her so. Indeed, she had been rather annoyed that the boy had just decided that taking her by the arm was a good decision because Shizuka wanted absolutely no physical contact unless it is during one of her heals. Shizuka rubbed the arm in the spot that Tobi had grabbed her and sighed as she felt the strain there. That was way too sudden. I wasn't prepared to run but he literally dragged me along. Shizuka thought, quite annoyed at the recent turn of events. Still, the Sand Shark had now become slower and soon had disappeared into depths of the sand but Shizuka knew something for certain. The Sand Shark was soon to come out again and attempt yet another ambush. The boss had taken a different approach from when Shizuka and Calrex had completed the quest. Yes, this Sand Shark wanted the element of surprise while the last time, it had decided to charge on with force. How annoying... Now we're going to have to wait for it to appear again. Shizuka thought as she rubbed her forehead, taking some hydration off of her medium-sized forehead while keeping her entire face hidden from plain sight. "Be careful." Shizuka said, a short phrase that was straight to the point.

Nobuyuki let out a sigh. With him being the one that the shark is targeting, it's best not to get too close near the healer, since she might get hit. He was assuming that she wouldn't have too much mitigation on her, it pose an imminent threat of she getting hit by the shark attack, despite the fact the shark is focusing him. Telling Shizuka nothing, Nobuyuki burst into speed, as he ran in an opposite direction of her. He was trying his best to be the only one who would took the damage. Created a good distance between him and Shizuka, he pulled out from his inventory the Matriarch's stinger, a drop item from the boss that boost your attack damage when you applied it. He quickly used is, as his sword glowed brightly for a split second. He could feel the ground rumbled before him once again. As quick as possible, Nobuyuki jumped back. The shark once again leaped from the ground, into the air and dove down into the golden sand ocean once more. "Alright, Mr. Land Shark. Ready or not, I'm coming for your life." Nobuyuki grew a murderous grin, as he drew his sword ready in hand.

Shizuka shrugged. She could feel the tension rising and the theme song playing in the background. It was going to be a fierce battle... Well, at least, she hoped that it was or else she might not be entertained from this battle like she had wanted to. Alright, Captain. Give me some entertainment.  Shizuka thought with a dark smirk from under that cloak of hers. Indeed, she was going to heal, but she was anticipating how the fight was going to turn out and with a lick of her lips.... she stared as the boy ran away from her. He can do what he wants. If he wants to get away from. I could care less. In fact, it would give me a better view of the action. Shizuka thought as she sat down on the sand. Alright, Capt. Let's do this then. Shizuka thought as she released her hair from the cloak that hid her beautiful face, allowing her hair to fall from her head. I need to concentrate for this... I might have to do a bit of healing to keep him alive. And hence, Shizuka sat there, prepared, her menu open in case she needed to use a health crystal for the boy.

Nobuyuki stood still and waited. He seemed to forgot about Shizuka. His mind only focused onto the shark and the shark alone, nothing more nor less. Then, he heard a rumbling sound in the sand, as a sandy hill quickly shifted. From the hill, the shark emerge. It leaped into the air, diving head first toward the young warrior. Nobuyuki quickly side step before the shark land, and swung his weapon in a slant angle. The blade chipped the scales of the shark, just before Nobuyuki redirect the attack and come back for another consecutive strike, chipping away another piece of the shark as it dove back down into the sand. "Well I'll be damn if this thing keep on going like this." He told himself, standing still and listening to the ground rumbling once again.

Shizuka smiled as the boy managed to land his first hit. However, just as Shizuka was about to attack, the Shark dove straight back into the ground. We cannot allow it to escape and recover. Shizuka thought as she stared at the spot in which the Sand Shark had dove into. Now... I know it's near... The Sand Shark tends not to get very far and is quite vicious... It tends to stalk around. Shizuka thought before pulling out her sword. Suddenly, she felt the sand shake and the ground rumble before watching as the vicious shark appears from the sand once more. With a vicious grin, Shizuka held her sword out in front of her while her cloak shook in the wind. Indeed, it was quite good and she wished that she could somehow record the scene. To be honest, Shizuka looked like a badass at the moment with her cloak shaking and her staring straight at her victim with her sword glaring from the sunlight.

If only the same badass meter could be said with her execution. No matter how good she looked before the move, there was still a grand possibility of her missing and of course, she had managed to miss the attack. With a sigh, Shizuka retreated, staying behind Tobi in order to heal when she needs and to receive the protection.

OOC: Right. Sorry about that. Was in a hurry in the middle of a league match when posting. :P

Nobuyuki wasn't noticing Shizuka repositioned herself behind him. The monstrosity lurking beneath the sand risen for an attack from the side. With quick reflex, Noboyuki quickly step back, avoiding the attack. His sword glowing bright lime green, as he swung the sword at the shark. A downward slash quickly follwed by an uppercut slash in a V pattern. His attack chipped at the fin of the shark this time, as he could feel the ground trembling beneath him. He stepped back a step, trying to keep his balance, but bumped into Shizuka as he did so. "Try and stun him if you can." He told her, then returned to locating the monster under the sand.

Shizuka looked over at the boy in annoyance. First, he had bumped into her right when she was preparing an attack, hence, stopping her from doing so. However, the battle must continue and hence, she stared at the spot in which the Shark had gone down in. With a sigh, Shizuka heard the ground rumble. Indeed, this was the sound of arrival, a sound of an element of surprise. Well, not really surprise as it had made quite a huge sound from under the ground before going for the attack. How stupid. Shizuka thought before pulling out her sword and staring at the place in which she had anticipated the Shark to come out from. With a smirk from under that pink cloak of hers, Shizuka began to charge before the shark had even arrived from under the sand.

Shizuka smirked even wider when she felt her stun attack land with an upper cut on the Shark. her prediction was well next to perfect and she had managed to strike the shark with a weak attack. Yes, she had little to no damage but she was able to stun the boss, hence causing Tobi to be safe the next attack. This is why I am here. Shizuka thought as she frowned having left the shark on the ground. This is a still target. She thought and soon, she turned around before allowing Tobi to have the next attack.

Once the shark emerged from the ground, Nobuyuki quickly tumbled out of the way. Turning back, he saw Shizuka dashing toward the Land Shark. Now that he realized that she is readied for her attack, Nobuyuki quickly charged up his own sword art. Then, he thought about how much damage he does to the monster. This is going to take a while for both of them to defeated this monstrosity. 

With the shark now stunned by Shizuka, Nobuyuki could have an easy time attacking the monster since it's now unable to go back down under the sand. He leaped in toward the beast and struck his sword downward. The slash went through the scale of the Shart and deal a decent amount of damage to it. Quickly jumped out before the shark could move, Nobuyuki began his calculation for the best way to approach the monster. It should be focusing him now, since he have its aggro. But still, collateral damage could still be inflicted onto Shizuka at any moment, and he wasn't planning on getting a scratch onto his healer.

Despite the fact that the two players were inflicting heavy damage to the shark, she knew that the shark could attack and deal heavy damage at any given second. Shizuka sighed before pulling out her sword. She knew fully well that the Shark would be completely protected against her stun attacks so instead of going for an uppercut, Shizuka will, this time, go for just a plain, a bit damaging move.  Doing this is just to thirst my boredom. Shizuka thought with a grin as she watched the shark jump right back into the sand as Tobi had managed to strike it through and through. Give me a challenge you filthy shark! I haven't gotten to heal at all yet. Shizuka protested before anticipating where the Sand Shark would arise and attack having figured out the basic rhythm in which the shark attacks under.

Shizuka watched as the shark popped up from where she had thought that it would, but her finish wasn't exactly excellent. With a rushed slice, Shizuka was only able to hit the thin air with the <<Snake Bite>> move that she had prepared. Shizuka sighed as she dove right into the sand having missed her target. However, she was able to pick herself right up and keep her well-kept calm under that gigantic, pink cloak of hers. I really want to finish this... Quick. So I can have that experience I need. Shizuka thought.

Rolling Battle Dice

"Of course the shark would move before she was able to sneak in another attack." Nobuyuki shook his head as he created distance between the two yet again. Once he hear the rumble, Nobuyuki tried to find the center of the sound, so he could dodge out of the way. But before he could jump, it was too late. The shark came up from the ground right under where Nobuyuki stood. However, he jumped just before the shark could hit him, and stood right on the shark's nose. He leaped off the shark, and as he came down, he slashed the shark twice. The consecutive slash in a slant angle, chipping off yet another piece of the shark scale. Nobuyuki landed onto the ground with a thud. He was glad that the game didn't have fall damage, or else it would've cause him a few damage. By the time he got up, the Land Shark has already dove back down into the sand. He stood up onto his feet, and start scanning for any sign of movement underground. He saw on the HUD that his energy is now depleted. Looking over to Shizuka, he jokingly asked, knowing that the answer would be a no. "Do you have anything that can give me some energy by chance?"

Shizuka sighed. "Can't do that," She replied... Rather annoyed that the boy had asked her out of the blue. Indeed, if the boy had read the skills from the guide book provided to everyone, he would've known that there were no enhancements or skills that allow a support to provide energy. Sure, it was completely possible that the game developers would go ahead and add in something that does so but they were pretty many stuck-ups so Shizuka would not be surprised if they don't even bother to add something for the support players. "For now, use weaker attacks," Shizuka suggested... A suggestion that sounds more like a command. And hence, Shizuka prepared yet another attack to attack instantly when the shark makes a poor decision of revealing itself once again. "Alright." Shizuka said and that was when the shark arose from the sand. With her one-handed straight sword, Shizuka charged while the Sand Shark stared at the other player that it was fighting. This better hit. Shizuka thought and with a grin, she jumped.

However, just as Shizuka began to swing, the Sand Shark managed to twist and dodge the tip of her blade. Shizuka gasped as she passed the sand shark while in mid-air and landed in the sand, watching as the Sand Shark dove towards the other player... The player that she was supposed to heal. Watch out... Strike it now! Shizuka thought.

Rolling Battle Dice

'Heh, I'd figured as much." Nobuyuki chuckled, not loud enough for Shizuka to overheard. He could feel the usual ground shaking before the shark made it move. Then, the Land Shark leaped into the air from under the sand, toward bot him and Shizuka. The girl managed to jumped aside, leaving the shark flying toward him. "Crap, too fast!" Nobuyuki ducked aside as the shark went passed him, and dove into the sand instead. The rumble stopped and the silence coated the desert once more. Nobuyuki unfortunately was unable to do anything to the shark. It came at him way to fast, giving him no time to react. Luckily however that it did came for him, and not Shizuka. So far not a single hit have landed on him, which is nice, but his luck would ended at anytime, and worst case scenario, Nobuyuki got dragged under the sand and suffocated, or torn to pieces by the shark. Either way, that're rough ways to die. He definitely didn't want that to happen. Nobuyuki stay cleared from Shizuka to avoid collateral damage, trying to figuring out where the shark would be. Then, from the side, it emerged from the ground once again.

Shizuka heard the rumbling of the sand as she heard some sort of entrance from the sand shark in the nearby distance. Indeed, it had chosen quite a good spot to pop out as Tobi had separated from her... causing the sand shark to appear straight from the sand in that part where the area was separated by the players... Right in the middle. Of course, the two players were currently surrounding the shark... But it wasn't good as there was no telling when the Sand Shark would attack and where it would attack. Despite this, Shizuka was confident that the shark wouldn't be able to break the streak that they were having on it. Yes, they had been inflicting quite a bit of damage on it before it had managed to dodge one of their attacks... And it was an important attack as well. Shizuka frowned with a half grin before pouncing upon the boss, attempting to stun it this time and give Tobi an easy attack.

Shizuka smirked with confidence as her sword went into the air. At the last moment, she went ahead and used the <<Snake Bite>> Sword Art and stabbed the Sand Shark right in the face, allowing it to have the paralysis and bleed status inflicted upon it. Excellent. Shizuka said with a proud smirk. Let's see how you deal with that.

"This should be an easy hit. Just focus, and don't lo...." Nobuyuki took a few step back, readied to attack. He was just about to ran up toward the shark for an attack, but unknowingly, he stepped onto something. Suddenly the ground below his feet collapsed, his right foot stuck underground as he lost his balance and fell over. "What the...." Nobuyuki was oblivious of what happened. He have never saw something as such happened before. This trap was pre-setup by another player, or could it have been one of the holes created by the shark that haven't filled completely. Nonetheless, Nobuyuki quickly pulled his leg out of the hole before the sand completely filled the gap. But he wasn't quick enough. By the time he got his leg freed, the shark has alreadied stir, and went back down into the ground once again.

Shizuka watched as the man got his foot stuck in the sand for a while. With a disappointed sigh, Shizuka shook her head as she realized that the boy's energy had reached a solid zero. However, Shizuka could do nothing about the drained energy as no skill or enhancement in the game allows you to do so and Shizuka had despised that fact for a while. She then checked her energy. I have a good bit of energy left. Shizuka observed and then looked over at where the land shark might appear out of nowhere. "According to the rhythm of the Shark...." Shizuka said to herself... No, whispered. Indeed, she had learned quite a load about this game... How every enemy is just a program with the same types of rhythm. If you were to figure out their attacks... You would be able to deal with them and attack back with ease. She knew that Tobi had hit the shark more times than she so it should still be safe to hit the shark even if he had missed a few times. With a grin, Shizuka watched as the Sand Shark appeared from the ground, looking like it was injured.  The bleed enhancement sure helped. Shizuka thought and that was when she charged towards the mob.

Unfortunately, the shark had fallen through the sky in a very awkward fashion. Shizuka had not been able to anticipate exactly where the shark would fall through and because of this, she had missed her target despite her experience. Indeed, she was never the best fighter... Indeed, she was the worst fighter in the entirety of Azure Brigade and she didn't mind as she was healer. But in situations like this, accuracy sure is important. She thought with a clutch of her teeth.
