About

History: From even a young age Kazuki, was interested in swordsmanship, begging his parents to enroll him in a kendo dojo before he was even five. As he grew his interest grew as well, expanding beyond just the blades of his home country. Eventually he fell in with a group of people with similar interests in European blades and combat, gaining training in those as well. Kazuki had always been intelligent, and his parents hoped he would put his silly fascination with blades aside and focus on more worthwhile studies. Instead he used his high level intelligence to slack off in school, his grades were always adequate but when it came down to it Kazuki just did the bare minimum to keep his family off his back. Against his parents wishes Kazuki didn't end up going to university, a decision that got him kicked out of his familial home. Kazuki floundered around for a bit living off the generosity of friends and extended family, that is when Kazuki took up writing. Kazuki had always written a little bit, mostly for fun, however with nothing but free time he started to take it more seriously. Eventually he started selling his writings online, they weren't excessively popular but Kazuki actually started to make enough to strike out on his own. As time went on Kazuki branched out from short stories, to choose your own adventure games and even full blown novels, as he did his popularity grew, although mostly overseas.

Kazuki had always been interested in games, although he wasn't too big of a player, having little free time with all of his other interests. When the Full Dive tech was in development it had definitely caught his attention though, Kazuki's biggest complaint about games being the inability to realistically interact with things. When Sword Art Online was announced though Kazuki knew he had to get his hands on it. So he spent a considerable amount of his saved up money on purchasing a NerveGear and preordering a copy of Sword Art Online. In the days leading up to the store release of the game Kazuki camped out waiting to get his copy of the game, using the time to finish up a novel that he had been working on. After getting his hands on a copy Kazuki, went home got his new work up for sale and joked on social media about how he was going probably gonna be caught up in the new game for a few days and not to be surprised if they didn't hear from him for a while. No one had any idea how right he was.

Personality: Upon first seeing Kazuki most expect some thug and nothing could be further from the truth. All of Kazuki's musculature comes from training with swords, not out of necessity but out of an almost childish fascination with them. During such training Kazuki is known to sometimes push a little too far, resulting in many of the scars he has on his body. The tattoos are actually the result of him being in love with anime and manga, that and very little need to look professional in his day to day life. Zanza, Kazuki's most often used handle for online gaming and forums, actually comes from his favorite character Sanosuke Sagara from Ruruouni Kenshin, who is originally introduced as Zanza the fighter for hire. Overall Kazuki is just shy of being considered a complete otaku, his only saving grace usually being that he doesn't shut himself off from the world, too often at least. Kazuki is actually surprisingly socially adept, despite his obsession with blades, anime and video games.

Virtues

Kind: Zanza can't stand to see other people suffering. Often going to extra-ordinary lengths, risking life and limb to ensure the happiness of other's, so long as it doesn't risk his pocketbook.

Loyal: Trust is a two way street and Zanza isn't one to exactly trust easily. Once someone has earned Zanza's trust though he will never knowingly or willingly betray them.

Determined: Well known among his friends as having a single minded focus, when Zanza decides to do something nothing will sway him. Known to keep throwing himself at a problem till he overcomes it. Even when completely bested Zanza doesn't give up, not really, instead he just delays his plans; intent on getting together whatever is necessary to ensure success.

Flaws

Reckless: Charging straight forward into certain danger is regularly how Zanza operates, both in games and real life. Partially due to a strange bravery and seeming lack of any kind of fear.

Arrogant: Zanza is definitely arrogant in near every sense, he is used to being better than most people. A lot of it has to do with how things just tend to work out for him, in his life there was never any point he ever really struggled. Natural intelligence saw him through school, a physical aptitude saw him through his sword studies and even his financial troubles worked themselves out with little real struggle.

Greedy: Quick to make a buck and slow to spend a dime, Zanza is always looking to make some cash. Even Zanza isn't entirely sure where his intense desire for wealth comes from, his family wasn't exactly rich, not that they were ever hurting for money either.
