Shield Question

Does a shield count as heavy armor?

I believe that a shield doesn't count as a specific armor type unless the Block skill is equipped as well.

Shields are used specifically with the block skill. They don't tie in with the heavy armour skill at all, except for the stone wall mod.

Categorically they're in their own place, separate from heavy and light armor.

As Teayre said they have their own skill Block and can tie into the Stonewall mod.

So can i wear Cosmetic Heavy armor to get the heavy armor buff?

Good armour does activate the respective armour skill :)

You can only wear 3 stat items and as many good items as you damn well please :)

If someone had a rank 5 heavy armor skill and a rank 5 block skill, would the damage mitigation on a post where they spend an action to block an attack have a total mitigation of 120? Or would only one items mitigation go into effect?

Likewise, the wording on the stonewall mod states "Gain your Armour skill & block skill mitigation as bonus health," would that mean that said player, with rank 5 armor and rank 5 block, would gain 120 hp?

A post action is not taken for Block, its passive. There is a mod for a block related post action though at Rank 5 Block available.

Yes. Note though the -1 evasion you suffer passively with it though too.

You get both the mitigation and the health. :)

 

The mitigation comes from Skills

The heal comes from a mod
