Answering the monster in kind, Teselmar's blade glowed again as he launched his own Linear attack, straight at the Gemini's face. He closed the distance quickly, using the system.

Just below the creatures eye, the tip of Teselmar's blade scored a hit. It wasn't enough to put this to bed just yet, but it was quite literally on its last legs. Teselmar kept his head down, refusing to look at it when he didn't have to. It was unsettling to see yourself so close to nonexistence. "It'll all be over soon, buddy..."

The Gemini answered this reassurance by wildly flailing its weapon at him, its rapier crashing towards the side of Teselmar's head as it panickedly tried to kill him.

Teselmar reacted faster than he'd thought he could, catching the blade on his own. He swept it to the side, but felt no joy in deflecting the Gemini's blows. He hoped that the end would come soon for it.

Taking his blade and aiming it at the Gemini's heart, Teselmar didn't even bother with a sword art. He just closed the small distance between the two of them, doing his best to put the creature out of his misery.

The Gemini clung to life, batting away his strike with the guard of its rapier. Teselmar was growing weary of dealing with this particular quest.

Attempting another wild slash this time, the Gemini dashed left, then brought his blade crashing down on Teselmar in an arc, trying desperately to slice him across the face.

Teselmar didn't begrudge the Gemini his point, watching his HP dip a bit. It did fire up his adrenaline, and he grit his teeth once more, determined to kill the beast as quick as he could.

Letting the Linear take shape as he went through the motions, Teselmar aimed this time for the Gemini's throat. He sped forward, and the blade angled in as he thrust.

As the blade slid through the Gemini's throat all the way to the hilt, it stiffened with a horrified expression on its face. Right before Teselmar pulled his blade clean, the doppelgänger, who up until this point hadn't said a word, looked him in the eye and smiled. "This is what it'll look like when something finally kills you. Teselmar." And with that chilling last word, it vanished, a shower of crystalline pieces hitting the jungle floor.

Teselmar, horrified at the monster's last words, almost didn't notice that the Extra Skill <<Disguise>> had appeared on his HUD. From one faceless void, to another. The words seemed to drip from the air, echoing for a moment before fading completely. Teselmar shakily grabbed the Col reward and turned on his heel, heading for the settlement. As he raced through the foliage, he avoided looking into the stream that coursed through the trees... He'd had enough of his own reflection today.
