[PP-F2] "How'd I miss you?" (Hirru)

Recommended Posts

"HAAH!" With a loud yell, the purple haired girl sprinted towards her target. Her weapon had been glowing as it charged up for a sword art. The golem, got into it's defensive stance as it witnessed her running towards it. Vayrin quickly rolled  underneath the monster's legs, slashing one of it's legs as she did. The creature kneeled on it's stone joint for a moment as Vayrin spun back around, preparing another sword art. The creature suddenly spun it's long arm around, straight at her. Something she wasn't expecting would be so fast. The arm slashed her right across her stomach, and she flew back a couple feet. Vayrin managed to land on her feet, and proceeded to skid back a couple more. She held her stomach as the long digital scar began to dissipate. She looked back up at the creature and glared, holding up her sword as she stood back up and regained her footing.

Some time had passed since the hunter had been on the second floor.  He had come here because of a quest that he had forgotten about.  Having come all this way to forget one quest about beast slaying, he could not forgive such ignorance.  Apparently, the quest marker wasn't close by.  It would take some time to get there, and from the way that the second floor was made; he would be winding around paths for a few hours.

After gaining some altitude, the hunter would find the sound of metal hitting rock.  'Was there someone mining nearby?'  Investigating further, the hunter would find that the sounds were coming from a battle.  The fight seemed to be between a golem and a female fighter.  They seemed to have exchanged blows, but the golem may have taken more than a good chunk from her.  He would help her, but it was bad sport to kill another's prey.  That was until more golems spawned in.  These were no ones prey...

..but his.

He was able to take out most of their health without any of them noticing him until the last minute.  The hunter was able to get to a safe distance from them.

As soon as she got ready to fight again, the Golem began charging at her. Knowing she wouldn't be able to slow it down she quickly dove out of it's way behind the cover of an outcrop of rock. The Golem swung both of it's arms around, destroying half of the outcrop, but luckily Vayrin had ducked and missed the blow. As the rock splinters flew through the air, and the dust covered both of them, Vayrin leaped over the broken stone, her sword glowing. She could see the dark shadow of the Golem through the dust, and she charged at it. The Golem however must have seen her glowing blade, and spun out of it's path. Vayrin swung her sword inches away from the beast's leg. Using the rest of her momentum, she turned her failed attack into a roll. She quickly spun back around and readied herself for the next move.

Having become busy with her own golem, she didn't seem to notice the hunter.  That was good as that showed focus towards the task at hand.  He didn't really want to cause a distraction that would cause a fatal encounter.  Especially with so many golems still there.  He didn't have enough energy for a large scale attack like the last one, but the hunter could still end these weaker golems.  With a flash of his sword, he would strike.  A jade blur would be seen as the hunter blazed through golems with a mighty slam of his blade.  All of them would shatter into pieces around him.  A wave of the blade, and it was returned to its sheath.

As Vayrin prepared for the Golem's next move, she heard another battle take place near her. She moved her head halfway over to see more Golem's, but they had all been killed. She raised an eyebrow for a moment because she was confused what had happened, but she had been looking away for too long. She quickly heard the sound of the Golem's arm rushing towards her. Not having enough time to dodge, She attempted to block it with her blade. Vayrin quickly held it up. The creature's arm struck hard down on her weapon, and managed to push it away. It quickly whipped it's other arm against her side. Vayrin rolled on in the dirt as her HP gauge depleted. A large glowing scar on her side. Cursing under her breath, she quickly got back on her feet. She still had fight left in her. With the fury in her eyes, she charged up her sword art, she sprinted back towards the beast. Charging up a special sword art, Vayrin spun around before releasing two power slashes across the Stone Golem's body. The creature now flew back against the wall of the mountain. Vayrin stood there breathing heavily, holding her blade up seeing as the monster still wasn't dead. Although, in the corner of her eye she saw another person.

Having finished his quarry, the hunter would turn to continue watching the fight between the young woman and the golem.  She seemed to be keeping her own while fighting, but that could change at any moment.  Without having any true armor, she would be evading until hit, but one hit could deal considerable damage.  He had already seen her get hit once, and could tell that there was nothing to mitigate it.  While thinking about it, it slightly ticked him off.  Patience was never his strong side.

Solace would be unsheathed as the hunter stepped into the fray.  The blade would flash a blue color which contrasted with his jade plate cuirass and emerald hair.  The attack would connect while causing the enemy to be stunned in place for some time.

"Take the opportunity to end it!"

He would shout out to the girl as his sword art ended and the cooldown began.

Vayrin got her blade ready once again, when suddenly a flash of blew struck the Golem as it got back onto it's feet. She stood there, surprised for a moment to see another figure. The one who had struck her foe. Although his move wasn't strong enough to kill the monster, it manage to deplete it's health significantly, as well as stun it. Vayrin wasted no time when she spotted the opportunity. She sprinted towards the stilled monster, and ran up off another slanted outcrop of rock to gain more momentum, and to level her blade with the monster's weak spot. As he leaped off the edge of the outcrop, her blade began to glow a shining violet, and it struck right through the head of the monster. To say that her weapon went through the Golem like a hot knife through butter would be an understatement. Her sword completely ripped the rock apart, until the Golem had a long scar cross it's entire body. Vayrin stood for a moment, still holding her sword out in front from the move she just performed. A moment later, the Golem blasted into blue shards behind her. Still out of breath, she slowly stood straight up, and put her blade away in it's sheath. Before she turned her head halfway back to confront the other player. Her face had a slight annoyed expression on it.

Enemy Defeated

The hunter sighed in relief as he watched the young warrior defeat the golem.  There didn't seem to be any reason for alarm or distress, as she looked quite well, and her health was still in the green.  Everything was sound from what he could see, except for her expression towards him.  It seemed that he may have upset her, which was absolutely clear.  He had broken a code of the hunt, and needed to pay for his mistake.  Usually a simple apology would suffice, but who really knew what she wanted out of it.  Was she fighting for the hunt?  Was this just a random encounter that could have gone wrong?  If anything, he needed to speak before this got any more awkward.

"My apologies for striking your foe without warning, or request to see if you needed help."

Monotone, but just a hint of humility, as he replaced Solace into its sheath.  Something told him that that wasn't goiing to be enough to convince her.

"Since four golems spawned nearby, I thought that you would have problems if multiple enemies came at you because of your current HATE.  It seems that I was wrong to assume."

"Ugh, no it's fine." The violet haired girl replied to the hunter. Even though she wouldn't openly admit it, she would've probably lost a lot more health if he hadn't intervened. He seemed to be a lot stronger then her if he managed to take out four golems at once in that short amount of time. She guessed he was out here for the same reason she was. "I'm just looking for mats... That monster wasn't strong enough to give me any though, so don't worry about it." She told him. She quickly went into her menu and went over her stats and map. "... where could he be...?" She mumbled quietly under her breath.

At the mention of materials, the hunter's interest was piqued.  There was nothing better than a good hunt, and he was pretty good at getting his share.  As she was distracted by her own menu, he would prepare to produce the four materials that he had just gained.  There wasn't much of a need for them for himself, and only gathered them for potions, food, or clients.  As he did so, the feint sound of whispers could be heard from her.  If it wasn't for his good listening and nosy disposition, he would have ignored it.  Unfortunately, that wasn't the case as he brought out the materials with a trade request.

"Where is who?  Anyway, I'll give you a deal.  I'll give you every material that I gain on this venture, while I collect the Col gained as payment.  That sound good to you?"

"I'm just looking for a certain golem. Much larger and tougher then the others... He would probably drop some decent loot." She told him without looking up from her menu. She then looked up, and turned to other player as he suggested he give her every mat he obtained as long as he got the Col. It was a decent deal. Vayrin wasn't very low on Col, but she needed the Mats. "Really? Well, if your sure... But I'm going to keep hunting for a while..." She told him. She had gotten many orders recently from many players, and she was in need of any mats she could get her hands on so they didn't need to wait forever.

The hunter would nod with a feint smile.  As a hunter, it's best to not have any other profession, so that Materials would just be used as bartering chips for others.  An easy living with less probability of someone of lower level getting harmed, or killed.  When she said that she would continue hunting, he decided that it may be a good idea to stay around.  With her current fighting strength, the enemies would only get worse from here.

"Would you mind if I tagged along?  You never know when a large horde of golems will be accompanying your 'certain golem'."

The hunter would say as he surveyed the area.  Mobs were beginning to spawn back into being.  Something that seemed so weird, but was never any cause for curiosity by anyone else.  His energy was restored by this point as well, and he was ready to fight.

Vayrin turned around and looked over the Hunter she had encountered. He certainly knew what he was doing, and Vayrin knew she probably wasn't strong enough to take on the Golem by herself. "Sure... I guess." She told him, before turning back into her map. "My name's Vayrin." She said, still looking at the glowing menu floating in front of her. Satisfied with her map, she closed it and looked back at the hunter. "He won't be playing around, so it may take both of us a considerable amount of work to bring him down." She said, knowing the stats of the Golem.

[Sorry about the long wait.]

With a confirmation of allowing him to tag along, the hunter looked around himself as Vayrin spoke.  She gave her own name while talking about the possibilities of the coming fight.  This golem seemed to be much tougher than the ones that he had already fought.  A good challenge to be taken while he navigated his way through the second floor.  The jade haired hunter nodded his head before speaking.

"You can call me, Hirru."

His aquarian eyes shift from her back to his surroundings, but more skim than actively search.  This wasn't really his quarry, but for now, he would be a bodyguard, of sorts.

"So where should we search for this 'golem'?"

Vayrin gave a slight sigh, and turned her body in the hunter's direction. "Should be in a large cave around here somewhere. Of course the exact location is unknown to me, just going off of my source..." She replied, still scrolling through her map. A moment later she closed it and looked up the trail. She nodded at Hiru and began walking up it. She just hoped that the two of them were strong enough to defeat it on their own. Hopefully her nimble stature would be able to out maneuver the monster's large attacks. The one thing she knew about this creature for sure was that it was MUCH larger then regular stone golem's she had been so used to fighting in the crater's between the mountains. Hopefully, with the help of her new companion, her luck would hold...
