August waited as the smith went to the backroom, and he heard the sounds of his forge and the pounding of metal on metal. To say he was curious was an understatement, but he eagerly waited by the counter until, a little while later. The sounds stopped. August grew more aware as his interest peaked, and the smith came out with a well crafted saber, curved blade, basket hilt, leather grip, everything he’d asked for.

”Merci, it’s far better then expected. The payment was six raw materials with the discount, right?” He said, opening his inventory and taking out the required materials and handing them over before taking his leave.

The man's latest identification haul from Freyd's shop had led him directly to Macradon's doorstep. He stepped inside the familiar forge and produced three different weapons. In and of themselves, they didn't appear to be anything special. Indeed, they weren't. But after a peerless Blacksmith worked their magic on them. It would create a weapon that was an absolute gamechanger. After gingerly placing the items on the counter, Oscar waited patiently for the Grandmaster Blacksmith to appear behind it. Today would be a fun day for the both of them. While he was here, Oscar decided it best to go ahead and upgrade his armor for the coming challenges as well, so he unequipped the item and placed it on the counter with the blades.

As Oscar waited for his order to be completed, he was almost worried something would go wrong at the last moment. Perhaps an errant stroke of the hammer or a fumble on the quench would render all of his work gathering those items together a waste. Almost worried, though. If Oscar needed equipment made, he went to Macradon first for a reason. The man's work was without equal. And this was proven when he returned with Oscar's new weapon and his upgraded armor. A slight smile crossed Oscar's face as he paid the man for his efforts and made his exit.

Oscar was nothing if not a creature of habit. The same places, the same people. One might think that he was unwilling to venture out of his comfort zone. And, one might be correct. But when it comes to craftsmanship, once you find someone dependable, you stick with them. That's the way it is with landscapers and mechanics. So why would it not be the same with Blacksmiths in a virtual reality death game.

Oscar made his way to the Blazing Typhoon after a successful haul from Jackpot's shop. Macradon was the only one that Oscar trusted enough to put hands on the weapons that he would carry into battle. So of course his services would be employed now.

Oscar did, naturally, sweeten the pot with a platter of fries and hot dogs. "Hey Mac," Oscar said even though he couldn't see the man. "Got some Fusions here. Can you hook a brother up?"

Items consumed in these fusions:
5 Gleaming Scales
2 Demonic Shards

The door opened and the small bell rang, Macradon looked up at the entrance from behind the counter “Oh, Oscar. Good to see you! Welcome! How may I help you?” he said in a somewhat baffled expression. It’s been a WHILE since anyone had entered his shop, maybe the rumours of him not existing become an actual myth on the 1st floor. Despite how fun that gag was, it was beginning to hurt his reputation as a blacksmith, all that hard work, first Grandmaster, now degraded to non-existence. He would sigh lightly from that train of thought and listened to Oscar’s request. “Been a while since I last did some fusions, but I’ll be able to sort this out. Just wait a bit. Grab some tea and biscuits while you wait, I'll have those while crafting.” he said and took all the goods and the weapons into the smithy and began working on the diagrams for fusion while munching on the best of the best glizzies.

With his new weapons finished, Oscar took a moment to admire Macradon's work. It was, of course, peerless craftsmanship as always. He added both items to his inventory with a smile. It was a mixture between the satisfaction of owning two fantastic weapons, but also seeing the gusto with which the man consumed the food Oscar had brought. Not wanting to be rude, Oscar indulged in a cup of tea and a couple biscuits. Macradon's hospitality was almost as legendary as his skills as a blacksmith. "You know," Oscar said. "I've been coming here since I was level one. You've always been a great help not just to me, but to anyone trying to get their start here. The game could use more people like you."

Oscar polished off his tea and biscuits and placed the cup gingerly back onto the counter. With a polite wave, he made his exit. Macradon was one of the good ones. He hadn't lied. The game did need more like him. But Oscar didn't finish the thought. It would be better if there were more like Mac and less like Oscar.

"Yo, Mac!" Jomei would offer a casual wave to his old friend as he entered his shop, "Good to see you." Stepping up to the simple wooden counter, he would lean one arm on its surface as he summoned his inventory menu with the other. "I hate to come see you with just business, but thought you could help me out with a little back up weapon" From his inventory, he would pull three rapiers and set them on the counter, along with two Gleaming Scales, and a Demonic Shard.

"This should be everything, just let me know what I owe you for the work."

Tiye wandered into the blacksmith's shop, emerald eyes peering at each and every ware displayed. She had no interest for weapons, and the armor was too bulky for her taste, but she supposed that it was good to have at least something to fall back on should she ever find herself defenseless. Word of mouth was that this particular blacksmith was on top of his craft, so at the very least, she was getting her money's worth.

Her fingers traced the air a few inches off of each armor and weapon before finally landing on one that caught her eye. Tiye failed to hide her grimace at the large amount of spikes-- it didn't exactly look comfortable-- but it would do the job for what she had planned. "Hey, boss," she called, waving at whoever the fuck was running the shop at the moment before pointing at the item she wanted. "This one for me, please."

Somehow, for some reason, his shop was being frequented more than he was used to, not that it was a bad sign or anything, but it seemed like the myth of his non-existance was being purged day by day. “Sometimes it actually feels nice to exist” he thought to himself as the bells chimed in his shop's entrance. It was Jomei, a familiar face and a familiar person. A capable fighter Macradon had been on nary adventures with in the far past. “Jomei! It’s good to see you, how may I help you?” he inquired and listened to the request “No problem it is a shop after all, so I expect business from people who come, but everything sounds good, I’ll get it done in no time!” he exclaimed and presented some snacks and some tea “I’ll get to it right now.” he said and turned around towards the smithy just as another patron would make their entrance.

Macradon’s eyes perked up at the newfound patron eyeing his display pieces “Oh, anything you fancy?” he asked and stepped out into the display area of his shop. They wanted some super spiky armour, for what reason was not important to anyone present and Macradon would just nod and accept the request “Very well, it’s yours, thank you for the transaction!” he said and sent over the item “If you need anything else, don’t hesitate to come back!” he said before returning back to the job he was just about to start.

He brought the items to the forge and began planning out the schematics and put the consumables items at the ready. Macradon was a skilled blacksmith, probably no the best around any longer, but he was the first to reach Grandmaster rank, which he was quite proud of. That rank, that title, wasn't just for pure show either. Macradon had stood up against Haphaestus at Mt. Olympus and his mere presence scared off the goat man thing that escorted players to the top. Macradon was a name to recognise, and despite his self-inflated ego, he tried to stay as low profile as possible, his shop even just looking like whatever trading post in the town. As the time went by, the grandmaster finished his work and went out with the newly fusioned mastercrafted weapon "Here you go! Happy to be of service" he said and wiped off the sweat off his face with a towel "I hope it'll be useful."

The hospitality was very welcome, as Jomei accepted the tea and snack offered by Mac. bars Pouring the steaming liquid into a small, porcelain cup, he would retrieve a biscuit from a tin with other various styles and flavors. Allowing the man his space while he worked on the new rapier, Jomei found a comfortable chair where he could sit, wait, and enjoy the aromatic tea. He watched the steam rise from the cup for a moment, before it dissipated along with a cooling breath from Jomei's lips. The clang of hammer against metal was melodic, and - in some strange way - added a peaceful addition to the ambiance of Mac's shop.

As Jomei returned his now empty cup to the counter where Mac had first offered it, the man was already returning with his finished weapon. Talk about a quick turnaround. The thin blade of the rapier gleamed a rose gold color as it caught the sun's light through the window. "Incredible work. I can't wait to try it out." he would lift the blade in his hand, giving it a swing out into the open air of the shop to test its weight.

"If you ever decide to get back out there, instead of working or fighting bosses, drop me a message. Would be just like old times." With a friendly bow of his head, he would exit the blacksmith's shop.
