[PP-F4+F7] Dungeons and Snow Beasts <<Essence of Steel>> (Zandra) (Pt. 10) COMPLETE

Jomei stood behind Zandra as she sat down on the edge, looking up into the darkness at the only thing lighting the entire room; the giant crystals. "Yeah.. they really are." A smile etched on the man's lips as he enjoyed the last few moments of beauty and peace before the two made their way to the large door at the end of the road, leading to God knows what. The man brought his arms up and crossed them about his chest, pressing against the black leather. He turned around slowly, his eyes looking at all of the crystals scattered about the area. It amazed him that they were bright enough to light up the pathway and some surrounding tall, jagged rocks.. but also not enough to illuminate the walls. It made it seem as if they were just walking through a dark void with only the stars to guide them. His eyes finally landed on the boss door. The short, yet wide, wooden door sat there, beckoning the two to enter and meet their fate. On the sides of the door hung two torches, being the only place in the entire cavern where the wall could be slightly seen.

Zandra saw the last of her energy beein rcovered. Time to move on. She did a backroll to get away from the edge. Or that was her intention. But she had forgot the full body armour she wore. So instead of making a graceful move she kind of came halfway before falling to the side."Ouch." She pushed herself up, brushed off some dirt from the armour. Jomei was at the door to the boss room that was lit up by a torch on each side. She placed her hand on his shoulder."So here we are. After fighting thru fiftreen heavy armoured knights we finally is here. I'll be right behind you." She detached the whip and silently mumbled the sword arts to herself to refresh her memory.

Jomei's eyes were fixed on the door and he began to slowly walk towards it. Thoughts began to run through his head with just what awaited them behind the door.. and would they be able to handle it. He felt the hair on the back of his neck stand up straight.. what if things went terribly wrong and he got killed... or worse yet.. Zandra.. He froze, staring at the crack in the door that was still completely closed. A hand on his shoulder snapped him back to reality. Turning his head, he looked at Zandra, who was ready to go. Jomei smiled, "Yeah." he said softly, bringing his hand up to his shoulder and gently grabbing Zandra's, bringing his arm back down so he held hand. He brought his right hand over and grabbed Saint Andrew's Bane from its scabbard, the sound of metal scraping as he extended the long blade outward. He smiled one last time at her before turning forward and walking towards the door with her. He placed his hands on the door and pushed it gently, before stopping and turning his head to Zandra. He stepped back and brought one of his hands up to open his inventory, a small blue crystal materializing into his hand. "Zandra.. if things go badly... and I mean.. very badly.. Use this and get out of here." Before she could retaliate with her words, Jomei stopped her, "Please. For me.." he quickly reassured her though, "But I doubt that'll happen... just..." he smiled warmly, "I love you."  ((OOC: Teleportation crystals do not work in intermediate dungeons, but I just did this for RP reasons))

With that, the man put his weight against the door and it slowly creaked open. The room, like the last, slowly lit up with crystals around the cavern, which again seemed boundless. In the middle, however, was a floating platform that connected to the pathway. It was lined with dark rocks and even some similar crystals lining the tops of them. Directly in the back was a large throne made out of the same crystals, though not illuminated. Sitting in the throne was a knight, dressed in armor similar to the knights they fought, but much more elegant. This must have been their king that they were protecting. Jomei slowly walked forward and stepped up the small step so he was standing on the king's platform.. the pathway behind them crumbling. They were trapped to fight this man... though... it did not move. Jomei, concerned at the lack of movement from the armored man, slowly walked forward with his sword pointed at it. He walked all the way up to the armor.. so he gently pushed at it with his sword. The armored man fell over in his seat, the helmet rolling off to reveal a skull. He had been long dead. "W-What the hell?" 

The ground shook when something let out a deep, bellowing roar. Jomei quickly turned to Zandra to make sure she was alright, and that was when he saw it. A large hand, bigger than any monster he had ever fought, grabbed onto the side, followed by another one. By its size, this thing must have been bigger than the circular disk they stood on. Slowly, the beasts head became revealed, similar looking crystals on its head, and multiple eyes glaring at the two. Jomei was shocked at the size of this thing.. but judging by just how many knights they needed to take out, it would not have been a surprise to him if they stumbled upon an intermediate level dungeon. 

The beast stood there, only half of its body visible while its legs stood on something below.. whether it was the floor or another platform. Jomei turned his head once more to Zandra, "You ready?" he shouted out before turning forward again and using his charge skill. The man ran forward, straight for the body of the beast that was hunched over the platform. Launching himself upward, he felt towards its face, his rapier glowing gold as he activated a sword art. The man then slashed and jabbed at the beast's leathery face in rapid succession. Causing it to open its mouth wide and roar in pain, revealing rows upon rows of sharp teeth. Jomei hit the ground and took a couple of large jumps backwards "Zan! You're up!"

Jomei handed over a teleportation crystal to her, and he knew that she would rather want Jomei to have it, since before she could open her mouth he followed up with a 'please, for me'. Zandra hesitated at first but then did as he wanted.''If it makes you feel calmer, I'll do anything for you love.'' His next three words didnt realy made her feel any better, well not if it would go that badly.''I love you too.'' she said quietly.

When Jomei pushed up the door Zandra followed right after to get inside the cave towards where the boss was. When she could see the platform, she stopped and got that 'you gotta be kidding me'-expression on her face.''Oh my, seriosly?'' Still she followed Jomei down to the platform. At least they would get some experiences after defeating him and complete the dungeon.''Wait what? Why isnt it moving?'' This made her hesitate and throw a look around. But when she didnt saw anything special she followed Jomei to the man in the throne. She saw when Jomei poked it with the sword, and the head fell off. Zandra jumped back when the head rolled and landed right infront of her, staring at her with empty eyes.

Jomei turned around and looked at her, or rather something behind her. She turned around and saw what it was, her eyes was wide open and she backed a few steps. Jomeis question, you ready? made her come back to reality. The agile man charged beside her, activating that charge skill that so many in Aincrad had, she should realy get that. Her boyfriend jumped up and attacked it right in his face. Zandra knew she would never be able to do that with her heavy armour. Instead she darted towards it, gained as much momentum she could gather.''Faster Zandra, faster.'' She prepared to jump, thou not as high as Jomei, as soon as she was in range. A few meter from the beast she pressed of from the ground and made a front-flip. The whip following her thru the whole loop. When she landed the momentum in the whip would have been able to break a rock in two pieces. She striked right on one of its hands. A big red stripe appeared and he pulled back the hand from the sudden pain. Zandra wouldnt be able to dodge the counter-attack if it came at her, so she bent her knees and held up her arms in a cross to reduce the possible incoming damage.''Jomei, you!''

Jomei watched as Zandra ran past him as he jumped backwards to give her room to attack and avoid being hit by her whip. He grinned as he watched the heavily armored girl jump into the air with a flip, making her whip crash down on top of one of the large hands that held the gargantuan up. Its pulled its hand back in pain, roaring out in pain once again as it was bested by the two. It held its hand over its head and looked down at Zandra with all of its eyes. The pain in its face turned to rage as it flexed its fingers and cocked its arm back, looking to make a pancake out of the noirette. Jomei's eyes widened as the beast's hand came crashing back down towards Zandra. Before it could smack her, however, Jomei made his move. Running in front of the girl, just as the giant hand was only a few feet above them, Jomei slashed his sword upwards at its wrist, taking its hand off entirely leaving only crystals to rain down on top of Zandra and himself. He then stepped up onto its hand-less arm and ran up to its head, slashing and jabbing at various points on the way. Once at its head, Jomei jumped and drove his rapier into the side of its head, in between two of its eyes. The boss gripped at the platform in agony, causing the small portion it held onto with its other hand to shatter under its mighty grip. The beast then lost its balance and began to fall backwards into the darkness, just as Jomei jumped from its shoulder and back to the platform. The mighty Rezābakku was no more, and the two had cleared this dungeon. 

Jomei stood up and and spun his rapier across his body in a figure 8 motion, ending it by sheathing his sword. He looked to Zandra with a smile, "Well, that was fun."

Zandra closed her eyes to prepare for the impact that would come ay moment now, she hardened all her muscles in her body. But the strike never came. She opened her eyes and saw the only thing that rained down at her, was small white and blur crystals. Then her eyes was drawn to the irishman that ran up on the dungeon boss's arm towards his head. He seemed to be busy damaging the creature and didnt saw what Zandra saw, the monster started to lose its grip on the platform. When she realised what that was realy gonna mean, she got panic and eyes wide open. She rushed towards the edge.''Jomei! Come back! Its about to fall down!'' she scremed as loud as she could, hoped she would get pass the roaring of Rezabakku. Tears appeared in her eyes when a terrible future got closer and closer.''NOO! Come back now!'' she screamed again when a piece of the platform broke by its huge hand. She fell down on her knees, stretched out her hand in his direction. The hair blocked her sight for a few moments, she brushed it out of her face and now she couldnt see him.''NOOOOOooooooo........'' 

She suddenly froze in her movements when she herd someone behind her. "Well, that was fun." She pushed herself up and walked over to him.''FUN?! That was far from fun.'' she started to use his chest as a drum.''Baka, baka, baka.'' The hits was slower and slower until they faded out and she just leaned on his chest.''You scared me to death there. Im sorry, I overreacted, shouldnt have hit you sorry. But I was just so scared I was gonna lose you.'' a shiver went thru her body and she sniffled.

Jomei saw Zandra looking over the edge. She was probably watching the  boss fall to its doom, maybe even see just how far down the room dropped. When she turned around to look at Jomei,though, he saw tears in her surprised eyes. Jomei's smile turned to a concerned look as the girl stormed over to him, yelling. As the girl punched him in the chest multiple times, he looked down at her confused. "What did I...?" He then realized she probably thought that Jomei was not going to make the jump back to the platform after the boss began to fall. It had all happened so quickly... he didn't realize the large gap he had cleared. Zandra stopped pounding into his chest with her fists and just leaned her head against him. Jomei placed his hand on the back of her head, gently stroking her hair. He smiled, "Hey.. I'm alright. We are alright. Its over." He brought his head down and kissed her on the top of the head. He pulled his body away slightly and looked into her glossy eyes, wiping a tear from one of them with his index finger. He gave her a warm smile to cheer her up and remind her that he was still alive and standing in front of her. "Don't be sad Zan. You should be happy. Excited even!" his voice picked up, showing his own excitement and throwing his arms out to the side, "We just took on an intermediate dungeon. Just the two of us! and we won!" he laughed, wrapping his arms around the girl and lifting her into the air, spinning around.

What Jomei just said slowly started to sink in, and she realised what they just have done.''Yeah, thats right.'' she said more to herslef then to the man infront of her. Then she looked up.''Jomei, we have just completed an intermediate dungeon together. Just the two of uuuuusss.....'' Jomei lifted her up in the air a spinned around. She held out her arms like an airplane and laughed.''We won! You hear that Kayaba? We took down one of your champions just the two of us.'' she said and stretched out her tounge to the cheiling. She looked down at Jomei. Her eyes still red but now dry and filled of joy.''I love you Jomei. Iloveyouiloveyouiloveyou so much. Let us go back and enjoy a cup of hot choclate in my armchairs, how does that sound?'' she said while brushing her hands thru his hair.

Jomei smiled, his words had gotten to Zandra, and she immediately cheered up. That was his priority, making sure his love did not cry. He placed the girl back down on the ground and let out a light exhale. "That sounds nice.. or we could go to one of the taverns in Nimbus and grab something stronger. Maybe even spend the night at the inn.. if you want of course." he rubbed the back of his head. His smile then turned sour when he looked past Zandra and realized something.. He turned around frantically, looking at all sides of the platform. "Uh... Zan...How are we going to get out of here?" The pathway they had originally used to cross to the boss arena was gone. It had crashed down into the depths after they stepped off of it. The floor then began to rumble once again, and Jomei quickly grabbed for his sword. He then felt the floor below them gravitate upwards, as if being pushed up or lifted by something. Moving his eyes to the ceiling, Jomei noticed a small opening lit up by some crystals. After a couple of moments, the platform had reached its destination; a small room with a door on one end, most likely leading back to the surface of Floor Seven, and a large chest on the other. "Guess that's our reward." Jomei said with a smile, walking over to the chest on the far wall. He placed his hands on the lid, noticing the container was not locked. He then pushed it open and chuckled, placing the contents inside that he would then distribute to Zandra and himself evenly. Turning back around to look at Zandra, he smiled. The two then made their way our the door and back onto the surface.
