[Shop-F1]Wind-Dancer's Leather and Cloth

Recommended Posts

Wind-Dancer's Leather and Cloth is little more than a glorified stall, certainly nothing as fancy as a house or larger shop. Clearly the proprieter is a new tradesman, or tradeswoman in this case, and either plans to work her way up to a better venue, or has no care for frivolous things. Both would be true in Ayane's case, as she is actually pretty quiet and withdrawn for a shop keep, if anything she is relying pretty heavily upon her 'prices' to stay afloat, as she struggles with the bright and outgoing attitude that most successful businessmen and women tend to effortlessly have. A rather neat hand written sign sits below the rough wooden counter, displaying her 'fee'.

Welcome to Wind-Dancer's Leather and Cloth, if no one is available to take your order, please fill out the following questions and leave a work order. I accept crafting materials or col for finished products, at a price that is determined at the time of crafting, and can be negotiated.

Ayane surveyed the small building with a rather serious expression. It was small, a given since she had only barely been able to afford her own crafting shop, but at least it gave her a place to practice her craft, as well as a place to sleep without having to spend all her remaining col in the city at one of the many Inns or Taverns. Of course, if she proved to be a successful business woman, she could always open a larger shop on one of the higher floors. It was a long shot, and something that she would no doubt have to work hard towards, but at least it was a goal.

Picking up her tools, she went to work creating her first crafting attempt, cutting out the material into the proper pattern using the <> and sifting her way through menus to get the proper appearance and armor type. Leather armor, in black coloration, light and flexible... This was armor meant for someone who wanted to be able to move quickly, there was no doubt about that. Once she was satisfied with the proper inputs, she began using the needle to pull the item together, and with a flash the crafting attempt was finished.

A dark leather chest piece sat on the table before her, the leather supple and soft to the touch, it's color a dark charcoal that bordered on black... This was better than she expected, by far! Examining the object before her, Ayane noted that her first crafting attempt was of Uncommon quality, and smiled. She had hoped to create a show piece, but decided that she would instead use this particular piece herself. No doubt she could still use it as a show piece, only that she would show her customers that she trusted her Tailoring skills so much that she would wear it herself.

Ayane hummed softly to herself as she prepared her materials, having selected the type of cloth item she had wanted, browsing through the rather exhausting menus as she did her best to get the item just right. Satisfied that she had everything correct, she began to cut her patterns using the handy system assist to ensure she was preparing the material correctly. Taking needle in hand, and piercing where indicated, she initiated her crafting attempt. A few moments and a bright glow later, she was frowning rather sternly as she looked at the poor example of a leather chest piece. With a shake of her head, she salvaged the created item, successfully recovering the crafting material and decided that she should try again.

Taking a few moments to prepare a new pattern Ayane carefully threaded a needle and prepared to make a second crafting attempt. She needed a good show piece, aside from her own Eclipse that she herself used. It was all well and good to show that she trusted her own craftsmanship, but a proper store needed to have items available for perusal. This time she wanted to make something a little different, so she selected a rather puny sized <> and began making the proper measurements and cuts. Taking a moment to assemble the whole item, she took her digital needle and thread and began making the proper sewing motions. With a flash and a sparkle, the item finished. A handsome bracer of thick red Dragon Leather. Oh, this looked simply beautiful, finished in a dark crimson, it was obviously of high quality.

For a brief second, Ayane took a death breath and held it. She wasn't exactly sociable, being something of an extreme solo player. Most people made her nervous, however she released her breath slowly when the young man nervously spoke. He seemed just as nervous as she felt, so she counted to 10 and forced herself to relax. He wasn't so bad, she guessed, maybe she would be able to do this after all. Glancing down at his order, and then back up to his face with her dark almond shaped eyes, she brushed an errant hair behind her ear.

"This shouldn't be too difficult..." she said softly, before glancing back towards him. "Since it is for casual wear, I really don't need any specific type of material. I can use basic crafting materials and select the proper color when I craft. All you would really need for payment would be just any random tailoring crafting material you can come across. The <> outside the city drop <> regularly. If you can bring me 3 <> for materials and cost, I can create an outfit for you easily." She said, practicing what she hoped was a winning smile.

With a disgusted sigh, Ayane scrapped the craft attempt and salvaged her materials. Trying to display this would have just been embarrassing.

Taking a few moments to prepare a new pattern Ayane carefully threaded a needle and prepared to make a second crafting attempt. She needed a good show piece, and as much as she thought that Phantom Butterfly and Midnight Butterfly would make beautiful showpieces, she couldn't very well just wear all her show pieces herself. She needed items to display, and that meant making more items. With that thought in mind, she prepared her pattern and put needle to cloth, initiating her crafting attempt. This time she was very pleased, as the bright flash of light dissipated to reveal a handsome knee length coat. Using Young Red Dragon Hide had been a very good idea, as the deep crimson coat looked immaculate in soft red leather, with black leather shoulder armoring. This would make an incredible show piece. Checking the name, she smiled Flame Tyrant's Raiment, well that was certainly an impressive name, further inspection revealed that the item was of Rare quality, showing impressive craftsmanship. This was truly an item to be proud of as a craftsman.

Now that she had a first showpiece finished, Ayane needed to do just a few more to showcase the range of her skills. Deciding upon a suitable idea that would stand up well beside the brilliant coat, she began preparing her materials noticing with a frown that she was beginning to run a little low on materials. At this rate she would need to go harvest some more. While it might have been a bother to some, Ayane was the type to want to get out of the city every now and again. The constant hubbub of the city would quickly begin to get on her nerves. In many ways she would use her crafting as a means of focusing on something other than her discomfort. With that thought in mind she thrust her needle through the pre-selected points, drawing the individual pieces of material together and initiating a craft attempt. The result caused her to wrinkle her nose in distaste, before attempting to salvage the offending garment. Typically, she lost the material, but at least that horror was gone.

Picking up her tools, she went to work preparing another crafting attempt, cutting out the material into the proper pattern using the <> and sifting her way through menus to get the proper appearance and armor type. That last attempt had just been bad, she was hoping she could do something better to keep the day from being too much of a let down. Taking her needle in hand and going by the highlighted sew points, she initiated the crafting attempt in a bright flash of light. With a smile, she beheld her finished craft. A quick check showed that the rather dashing set of casual clothes were of Good Quality. She hoped that her first customer, Odonata, would be satisfied with her efforts.

Ayane navigated her crafting menus with increasing confidence as she went to work on her newest crafting attempt. When she had finished selecting her desired specifics, the system flashed a helpful pattern before her that she simply 'traced' by cutting with her scissors. Taking her needle and thread, and using a rather basic cross stich, she quickly sewed the pieces together, again following the helpful system assisted process, and in a flash of light, a new item was created from the prepared leather. A lumpy, malformed item, that appeared as though it had been sewn by someone while they were less then sober. Ayane wrinkled her nose in disgust, and scrapped the project, attempting to at least salvage her materials

It figured that she wouldn't get her crafting material back. Well, that was certainly a bit of a let down. Still, no reason to let it hold her back now. Taking a moment to reset her crafting menu, she quickly entered her item specifics, cut her pattern, and prepared her needle and thread once again. She certainly didn't want to end the day on a bad note, and while every little bit of experience helped, she hoped to prepare something nice for display. As she worked her needle into the prepared materials, the bright flash of light heralded her crafting attempt. Rolling her eyes heavenward, she implored whatever divine being might be listening as to what she had done wrong, in this life or the last; because this crafting attempt was even worse then the previous! What's worse, as she salvaged the item, she failed to get that crafting material back as well. Closing her eyes, she bonked her head on the table with a soft thud and a sigh, talk about a rough day.

She gave a muttered curse, it figures that it would not salvage her material.

Macradon would knock on the door frame before he would go into the shop. He would enter with his armor and weapon, but still looking passive. He would sigh as he looked down upon his clothing, the beginner's clothing, still.

''Uh .. Hello?'' he would ask as the sun from outside has made his vision more prompt for light, but as the shop was a bit darker, everything was blurry for a minute.

''I heard you were good at making clothing?'' he would ask as he would throw up a picture of the clothing he wanted.

''A 3 layered coat or robe, inner robe being tight to the body, middle coat being the one that is loose so one can maneuver and the last layer being a cap with a hood to keep sunlight form damaging and hiding the body from sunlight'' he would describe as the picture would be laid on the table.

Outfit2_zpsd5254df6.jpg

''I just wish for the standards that it will be able to move round with, and that its able to be battle ready. Oh! And how much would the cost be?'' he would say then ask with a smile on his face as sight would come back to him.

Sometimes this random number generator tied to crafting could really suck.

This was more like it, she wouldn't feel ashamed letting her customer leave the shop wearing something like this. The layered robe was a rich vibrant green, looking almost like something she could envision an Elven Warrior wearing into battle. Turning to the man in her shop, held up the item, waiting for his judgement.

Picking up her tools, she went to work preparing another crafting attempt, cutting out the material into the proper pattern using the <> and sifting her way through menus to get the proper appearance and armor type. That last attempt had been pretty nice, certainly better than the one before it, she was hoping she could do something just as good now to end the day on as positive a note as possible. Taking her needle in hand and going by the highlighted sew points, she initiated the crafting attempt in a bright flash of light. A dark leather bustier with minimal violet accents sat on the table before her, the leather supple and soft to the touch, it's color a dark charcoal that bordered on black with a single silver butterfly... Perfect, just perfect. Examining the object before her, Ayane noted that this was by far the finest item she had ever crafted, the highest tier item she had ever seen no less. It was even better than the handsome red coat she had crafted to be her show piece.

Ayane felt... invigorated. Yesterday had been one of the best days of her short career as a tailor. Finishing two quality items had been a huge boost to her confidence. She had no doubt now, she was going to become the greatest tailor in Aincrad, no matter how long it took her. Humming softly to herself, her good mood unwilling to fade now, Ayane went to work with her crafting menus, selecting the proper item type and taking a moment to decide on the perfect material. The Lesser Gargoyle Hide would do nicely, she decided, as she used the System Assist lines to create the proper pattern and initiated the crafting attempt with a quick sewing motion. She smiled, pleased with the result as she took a moment to appraise the hooded cloak before her. Uncommon quality... The Shadow Mantle. She smiled, and lifted the black hood in her hand examining it from each direction. She wasn't the hood wearing type, but it did look quite dashing in a roguish way.

Well, so far it had been a good day. Satisfied with her first attempt of the day, Ayane set about working on something new. This time she wanted to create a handsome leather chest piece, something stealthy and quick, she would need to use some more of the Gargoyle Hide. Humming softly to herself and trimming her pattern, she went through her preparations and began to initiate the crafting attempt by mimicking the motions of pulling a needle and thread through the material. Then she slipped, and everything went to hell. She knew the instant her needle missed the highlighted area that this wasn't going to be good. A moment later she cursed under her breath. The resulting craft was little more than a pile of ruined scraps. This was by far the worst display of her talents yet. With a muttered phrase of disgust, she discarded the ruined object, letting it break into polygons. Well, that certainly didn't improve her mood.

While her success kept her from hitting outright depression, Ayane was none the less in lowered spirits after that last dreadful attempt at using her tailoring skills. She checked the system time, at this rate she had time for one last craft before she would need to head outside the city and farm some more materials. Sighing, she began preparing her next attempt at tailoring greatness. A few careful moments later, she had her pattern ready and carefully took the needle in hand. She proceeded slowly, wanting to make sure she got each movement as precise as possible. But then the crafting initiated anyway, and she was barely halfway finished. Dammit, she had never realized their was a timer before! A few moments later she let her head thunk on the desk as another ruined vaguely chest shaped scrap pile was displayed before her. Sheesh, she knew had known she was going to have to bust her ass to try and become the greatest tailor in Aincrad, but this was ridiculous.

Kane had walked past the stall before in his trips throughout the city. Before his last battle,he had never really had much use for a tailor. Now, it seemed that he required one's services. He strode up to the stall, smiling amicably. He tried not to be intimidating, as he realized that with his armor and oversized greatsword, he could come off as a bit scary. It looked like the shopkeeper was a bit depressed as he walked over, so he kept his tone gentle.

"Hello, are you the tailor? I'm in the market for a new cloak." Kane displayed several rolls of fine cloth, bought from a vendor on the second floor. "I've got enough materials here for you to make a rare item, and i've got the remnants of my old cloak." Swiping a hand through the air, he removed the once-whole <>, now burned and damaged. "I was fighting a field boss, and it sort of lit my cloak on fire..." he trailed off, wincing at the sight of his once nice cloak all charred and burnt. "In any case, I'd like a new one, and I have the materials for it to be truly great. If it offers extra protection or a special effect, that'd be desirable." He placed the rolls of fine cloth on the table, along with two ingots of metal. "These ingots are made of Mithral," he explained, pointing at the luminescent metal that glowed pale green in the light of day. "If you could maybe incorporate them somehow, they're yours to use."

Macradon would look in his bag, taking out a little pouch for pay. He would put them on the table, hoping to see some good value from this. With a smile on his face he would say.

''I hope this is enough for the clothes'' as he would retract his arm, waiting for any answer.
