MichaelStark 0 Posted January 14, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 14, 2016 Spoiler Profile Username: MichaelStark Real name: Michael Stark Age: 18 Gender: Male Height: 5’ 7” A Brief History Michael Stark was born and raised on Hartford, Connecticut in the US. His father used to work in a well-respected law firm, and his mother was a Physics teacher in the local high school. He was labelled as a “nerd” from elementary school, and was mostly shunned and bullied by the other students. In middle school, he used to get As, and was considered one of the most intelligent students in his school, even if he was not the most scoring one. He still got bullied, but much less than before as he had mastered the art of fading in the background of things. He would read a book in a corner during homeroom, and people would glance over him like they would to any piece of furniture. That was okay by him, and it gave him a precise idea of how people behave. For most times, he’d observe the people around him, and it came to a point where he could even predict(albeit somewhat sloppily) what a certain someone will do next. He knows that he was 14, and his birthday was in 3 weeks when it happened. His father was caught embezzling a crapton of money from the law firm, and was sent to jail after a fight in the court that lasted hardly a week. His mother was quick to believe his father’s crimes to be true, but he had his nagging doubts. He knew his father, he knew that being too trusting was his fault. He knew that it would not take too much of hard work to frame his father of a crime, and he has chalked up a few ways by which the real culprits could get away. But then again, it could again be his father, trying to make some extra cash, possibly led by a colleague who remained unmentioned. His father can be a thief, or an innocent man, and he will never know which. And it was him, who had to spend his birthday in the attic because his mother’s sobs were too much for him. His grades dropped to Cs , and the only subject where he shined when he came to high school was Computer Science. He was not the type to be popular with girls, and after the incident with his father, the only thing he did in school was to listen to music in a corner, to drown out the rumours about him. He had a couple of friends, which might have been two too many, at one point. But he liked their company, and they understood that he was a really great listener, and of great help when it came to advice. There was this girl, who reached out to him His days of observing people paid off then. Over time, they learnt not to ask him any questions about himself, as he goes on the defensive, more aloof than normal. At home, he was alone. His mother didn’t remarry, but he knew that she had a boyfriend and he didn’t care. The idea of a virtual reality always fascinated him, as it was a reality where one can be whoever one wants, so he tracked down every project regarding one, trying to be a beta tester. He was in a couple of them, but nothing as perfect as the nerve gear technology he wanted to try. Well, he couldn’t get in on the beta but when it released, he knew that it was his chance. His only request to his mother since then was for her to buy him the nerve gear when he turned eighteen, which she did, thinking of reconnecting with a son that seemed to drift away every time she saw him. Virtues: Perceptive: A quick learner, a quick thinker and all because of his heightened perception. His habit of observing people and the surroundings never left, and in this game it seems to be very useful. The ruffle in the bushes, the cry of the cicadas, and every change in the surrounding is significant here. And he plans on taking advantage of every scenario. Resourceful: Once you get to know him, you see that he is quite resourceful. He has the ability to make even the most useless thing somewhat useful in a way, and manages with what is given to him. Diplomat: All these years of knowing how people behave makes him a natural diplomat. He knows when to keep secrets, and when to come clean. He knows to give respect to people who don’t deserve it, and to manipulate the people around him in such a way so that he remains on the side that benefit. Good relations with everyone, but always keeping proper distance. Helpful: He will be one of your most stalwart, most loyal friends if you get close to him. But even if you are not, he’ll be helpful to most strangers, if it does not involve him putting himself into considerable risk. Flaws: Antisocial: You will never see him reaching out to another person, unless it is of utmost importance. He will rarely engage in a conversation with you, unless the topic is something he is passionate about, and he is not the one for random small talk to pass the time. Often, greetings like “Good Morning!” will be replied with a shrug, which will put off most people. Cold-hearted: He seems cold-hearted because he rarely betrays what he is thinking, due to his diplomat quality. This flaw doesn’t apply to the people who have been with him for some time, but creates a bad first impression of him to strangers. Secretly Perverted: Now, this is something not known to anyone( or so he thinks). Underneath his cold exterior, a very perverted individual resides. And he knows that he can be easily distracted by a woman, or a girl… even a member of the same sex if he is attractive enough. His antisocial nature does not allow him to display this aspect of himself, but he doubts that would change the general opinion about him for the better.
