Dameon 0 Posted January 17, 2016 Author #21 Share Posted January 17, 2016 “That isn’t enough,” Dameon said after a pause. As he thought about all of his prior experience with gaming and of his knowledge on Kayaba which was no more than what was published about him prior to SAO being created. He grabbed a nearby stick and started sketching the sand game theory as well as other complicated equations. He attempted to explain each individual sketch and equation he drew to show he had come to that conclusion. “If you take in the fact we are on floor thirteen with fifteen players and form what I hear is going slower than normal than getting to fourteen would take even longer so forth. Finally if and when we hit floor twenty you need to consider we are only a fifth of the way into the game which means from that point the game will get five times for difficult before the hundredth floor is beaten,” Dameon explained finally taking a breath to let the information process through both of their heads to which he would erase the sand etchings and start again with more detailed explanation. “Also based on prior MMO experience can you honestly tell me that you could defeat a final elite raid in a fifty man raid with fifteen people? I was making over five grand a month in an MMO and we couldn’t do it with any less than thirty and that was with deaths. Now take into consideration that you would need twice your number if what you had now for that game when SAO is considered much much harder. Next that you would have to wait for those players to hit the same level range as the front liners. When you do that it and take the time into account along with difficulty of progression it would take at least ten years to clear the game assuming no deaths,” Dameon said explaining another chunk with doodles and drawings as he lowered his cowl to be heard better. “Therefore priority for the top guilds should be to help as many lower level players as possible. This would significantly reduce the time of it being done later considering lower level players die every day. People is not something we have an infinite resource of so you can’t go into a floor boss without as many as possible to reduce the odds of any one person dying. Does that make sense?” He asked as he looked up at the man who was hovering behind him upright.
Calrex 0 Posted January 17, 2016 #22 Share Posted January 17, 2016 (edited) Calrex leaned slightly so that he could see the sketches that the person he was speaking to was certainly putting their current situation into perspective. With the past experience he claimed to have had as a professional gamer, there was no surprise in that. As sentence after sentence flew by the bluenette took in each word. As he had suspected previously, there was hope of escaping the game, but there was one thing that everyone seemed to be missing that was point out easily with this man's explanation: Helping lower-level players reach frontline levels as fast as possible. He gave a small sigh as he nodded in agreement, "Yeah, I came to the same conclusion some time back. You'd think that such an obvious answer would be easily reach, but I swear sometimes it seems like people can't get their heads out of the sand." He relaxed his standing position as he continued to speak, "At times it seems like there's a lot of unnecessary drama that takes place in this world for no particular reason. Take example the idea of player killing. Just the fact that a person has a orange crystal on their head, no matter how much they contribute to floor raids and such, can't seem to ever be free of the stigma unless they decide to take Redemption. Sometimes I fear the idea of politics and such seems to have become present in SAO and has a stronger grip on people's decisions that the overall idea of working together to escaping this game." Giving a small sigh he looked over at the person he was speaking to, "Sorry, I didn't mean to complain. It's just a thought that occasionally weighs on my mind. Sometimes it seems people can put prejudices aside for simple logic, heh." The main focus should be to try and get as many people as possible to frontline levels before anything else, especially since we're still in the early stages of the game." Dameon 0 Posted January 17, 2016 Author #23 Share Posted January 17, 2016 (edited) Dameon lowered his hood and cowl revealing his face which had at one time been a common sight in the video game industry. He finally felt like the two of them had come to a common ground as he stood up and opened up his menu revealing his character profile and moving it over for the other player to see as well as his level which was sixteen, but it also revealed his name as well as how he had allocated his stats so far which were undoubtedly for a solo player. “My name is Dameon,” He said tossing away the bottle of water as it shattered on the ground evaporating into fragments in the air. “Yes we are still in the very early stages of the game approximately twelve percent complete. Either way I must get stronger. Also now that we know that the scaling is based on the average people fighting a field boss you can stack more lower players to increase its reward without putting anyone in further risk,” Dameon stated as he once against started walking toward the Oasis. rolled for dungeon ID: 45960 Result: 14 - Fail Edited January 17, 2016 by Dameon
Calrex 0 Posted January 17, 2016 #24 Share Posted January 17, 2016 Calrex took a small step back to give the man some room as he pulled up his profile. This came as a bit of a second surprise to the bluenette as he gave a nod, acknowledging that he had taken the man's name to memory, "Dameon, a pleasure to meet you." "Yeah, as I thought he's really oriented his stats so that his survivability on his own is extremely high. His damage, evasion, and mitigation are all at fairly above average levels. The only thing missing from the equation compared to my build is accuracy, but that's easily resolved later on. With his current loadout he can easily avoid most attacks, and any that do manage to hit him is easily absorbed for the most part." "Yeah, I'll be sure to take that knowledge to heart. I've tried to assist as many players as I could in the past, but it seems that possibly taking on even larger groups against monsters might be the safer and smarter approach. With my Hate-building skill it's fairly simple to direct the creature's attention to me, and with numbers a creature will easily fall before it gets another chance to attack. I'll be sure to test that tactic out in the future." "What would be even more helpful is if we could get even more of the frontliners to assist with helping the lower level players, but it seems some of us are preoccupied in our own things, while others seem to just wait for players to get stronger on their own before snatching them up to add to their ranks. I feel like if we can help the low levels without letting pride or reputation influence our decisions, we might get out of this game a little bit faster."
Dameon 0 Posted January 18, 2016 Author #25 Share Posted January 18, 2016 (edited) Dameon looked toward the Oasis and toward his menu at his time and map. They would not be able to make it there before nightfall. He sighed a bit remembering he would just have to come back another time instead. He turned toward the other person and toward the village they had come from originally. “It seems more logical now to head back to the village,” Dameon said lowering the menu as he began walking toward the village. Not before too long they would already be back at the main town. Though this time Dameon had forgotten that he had let his hood and cowl down. As they walked about he started getting odd glances from people. This was very odd to him as he couldn’t quite figure out why. Finally someone only a few years younger than him approached him “Are you Dameon by any chance? The strategist pro gamer from the US?” the other player would ask. Dameon then realized his cowl and hood were off. “Nope, no idea who that is.” He would reply putting up his cowl and hood again as he proceeded onward at a faster pace as a larger crowd formed, apparently he hadn’t been convincing enough. “Dameon is with Calrex! We will be home in no time!” Dameon simply sighed as he approached the warp gate unsure of where to go. Edited January 18, 2016 by Dameon
Calrex 0 Posted January 18, 2016 #26 Share Posted January 18, 2016 "Yeah, that sounds like a good idea." With an approving nod Calrex followed alongside Dameon as the two made their way back into the village of Armadillo. Funnily enough, it seemed the brief time that the man had his hood down he was almost instantly recognized by another younger player from his previous professional reputation, "I guess your reputation really precedes you. No wonder you tend to hide your appearance." As the two approached the warp gate the blunette noticed that his company seemed to be unsure of where to head next. Going through what he saw of the man's stats profile, remembering that he didn't have the Martial Arts skill. Turning to face his dark-haired teammate he kept his hands in his jacket pockets, "If you want we can head to the second floor. I saw you didn't have the Martial Arts skill yet, so it would be really useful to have at Rank 2 once you grandmaster straight sword. It unlocks the strongest Sword Art possible for the weapon..."
