[PP-F1]: A New Purpose {Helios}

Recommended Posts

Toby had a new favorite pastime; wandering.

Between him not wanted to get savaged to actual death, and not even knowing what he was doing, it was safer just to hang around the first floor's town. And wander around.

The problem was col. He had five bread, and five water, which would tamp down the uncomfortable 'hunger pangs' for exactly five days, as long as the mechanic didn't change. After that, he'd be begging on the street, and that was something he'd rather avoid, truth be told.

He turned onto a side alley, laughing bitterly. Even after all this, even after Kayaba's little announcement, a guy's gotta have pride, huh?

The solution was fairly simple. Anyone could get Col, just by killing enemies, or selling what they already had. He hadn't gathered anything yet, so he was left with the prospect of going outside.

Toby stopped, staring ahead. The main thoroughfare was ahead, the gate standing wide open, inviting anyone to try his or her luck. He merged onto the road, blending in with the mass of players. He got as far as the gate before he stopped dead in his tracks. People flowed around him, some casting him odd looks.

He didn't even know anything about combat...

Helios chuckled as he exited his shop, his familiar following close behind him. "Lucifer, how about we go for a walk in the plains?" he asked his jaguar, who growled lightly in agreement. As they strolled through the town, a few players looked at him funny, probably because of the large cat that walked beside him. Eventually, he found himself at the gate, which led to the world outside of the Town of Beginnings. Upon arriving at the exit, he glanced over to a man who stood at about the same height as Helios. The player seemed to be a bit nervous, which was normal for any low leveled player who hadn't done much fighting. You were being put in a life or death situation, after all. Who wouldn't be a tad bit nervous? With a smile, the dark haired man took a few steps forward until he stood close enough to speak to the man. "Hey, you alright?" he asked, hoping the man wouldn't freak out about the large, feral cat that stood so close to him.

Toby clenched his fists, turning toward the new arrival. "I, ah, I am about as fine as can be expected." He turned back to the horizon, staring at the vast expanse of grass. Your next thousand meals. "So, you come here to unwind or something? Floor 1 must not be that challenging, yeah?"
