About: History/personality

Nickel is a fairly friendly person, with blonde hair, blue eyes, a thin but smiley face, and a realistic tilted toward positive outlook on others and life.  He often wears a black scarf with a blue/black jacket, and blue undershirt.  He prefers jeans for versatility reasons.

Nickel is a student in his last semester of high school, with aspirations to join the Navy.  He is studying to become a linguist.  With a talent for language, he is learning a number at once, including Spanish, German, and Russian.  Beyond his affinity for language, he has a minor obsession with various game and book series. He aspires to be as well-read a person as he can be, and enjoys learning at his school, despite often being tired from lack of sleep.  He is close to his family, with an incredibly calm and patient father, and an understanding and intelligent mother.  

Virtues:

Patience.  He learned incredible patience from his father.  Nickel has withstood even the most thickheaded of relatives.  This often leads to people believing he is incapable of anger.  Despite this, Nickel does have a limit, though it is difficult to reach.

Intelligence.  Nickel has always been exceptional at spotting patterns, something that helps him immensely with his linguistics.  In addition to this, he regularly speaks fluidly and is quick to wit.  As a result of having intelligent parents, focused on talent as opposed to work, he has horrendously underdeveloped study skills, which is balanced by his wit and talent.  This generally causes people to have the classical reactions of either being supportive of his actions or berate him for his perceived differences.

Nurturing.  He genuinely cares for others and wants to help them.  This can push into the point of willfully hurting others for those he cares about.  Despite his willfulness in that regard, he forms bonds with others quickly and cares passionately for his friends.  This can lead to conflicts of interest at times, but often only serves to help others. 

Flaws:
Passively Self-Loathing.  Frequently self-critical, questioning, second guessing, and hating, Nickel loathes himself.  The only counter-balance to this is that it is done passively.  He avoids harm and such as any other would, but is willing to hurt himself for the sake of others.  He cannot easily commit without questioning himself, and will desperately self-evaluate when any insult comes.  Luckily this mostly stays silent, and is not abundantly apparent to others. 

Harshly Truthful.  Nickel will frequently tell the hard truth as opposed to a soft lie.  He feels that the truth is worth a thousand alternate answers, and cannot abide lying.  This can lead to him hurting others emotionally as a result, or ruining chances for certain gains.  Despite this, he feels it is more useful to tell the truth, and will not shift easily from his way.

Easy Susceptibility to "Lingering Horror" Effect.  Nickel cannot, for the life of him, watch, read, or play horror related content.  This is because after doing so he will begin to experience a heightened sense of awareness leading to imagined horrors around every bend.  This has lead to a number of sleepless nights for him, and made him the butt of some jokes.  Despite this, he is aware of this issue, and makes a conscious effort to avoid sources of inspiration for his horror inoculated imagination.
