First Floor

Starting City

Wind-Dancers Leather and Cloth

---

A muffled curse was heard from inside the small tailor shop as the proprietor of the shop stubbed her toe moving a particularly large box. It was only a day after she had ditched the small stall in favor of this one room shack like affair, one of many small buildings for rent for the different crafters. She had drug her counter in, where she could conceal her bedroll and look presentable to customers, and was busy trying to 'unpack' from her inventory. The life of a craftswoman was never easy, and while she had been doing alright thus far, making a little col on the side, she was reaching a point where she was in need of better materials. Her best pieces thus far had been made using what few exotic materials she could get her hands on.

The problem was that she was a solo player who was trying to get by on earnings from this shop. Going to the higher floors and searching for exotic materials from the stronger monsters was dangerous business, especially for someone of a moderately low level like herself. Sure, she was higher level than most of the people who made Starting City their home, but she was hardly front-liner material. She would need to gain quite a few levels to claim that kind of achievement. At best she would consider herself safe adventuring up to around the 3rd Floor, and even then only in the well traveled areas. Stronger monsters could be found in hidden places even on the low floors, like the Young Red Dragons of the Mountain Caves of Floor 2. She could handle them one on one, but didn't dare engage them without taking great caution to not aggro more than one at a time.

She was close to being completely set up in this new location, which was close to the Central Plaza and would hopefully bring in some new customers. She had pretty much resigned herself to another day of hunting the <> outside the city in the hopes of obtaining a few more <> to use for crafting a few showpiece examples of leather armor. As much as she wanted to go take a crack at some of the Young Red Dragons on floor 2 or the Ice Dragon Hatchings on Floor 4, she just didn't have anyone to turn to for assistance. Being a solo player could be rough, but add in the fact that she spent much of her time trying to cultivate her crafting profession, and it was even harder. It would have been easier if she had some friends who were also playing. But she had never really associated with the 'gamer crowd' and none of her friends had ever expressed any interest in the VRMMORPG. She was so shy that she hadn't made any friends in the game yet, and it was really starting to show.

Closing her eyes, she let buried her head into her arms sitting at her counter, settling into something of a glum mood as she pondered her situation and how she was stuck.
