<-Delusions, aren't they?->

<-Boars->... And a lot of them. Within the grassland outside of the <-Starting City-> they were one of the easiest of 'animals' a man could hunt. A lot of people would actually make a so called "Party" so they would hunt these oblivious and pretty funny beasts. A warm weather, the clear sky above this green scenery, let's not forget about the wonderful smell of flowers that can be quite fascinating...

"... Twenty-one... Twenty-two..." On top of a small hill there was something in the grass, with a low voice it counted the total number of <-Boars-> located a few yards down the hill from it's current position.

".. Uh, a beetle!" With a scream it jumped up from the grass only to reveal that 'it' was clearly a teenage boy. Wearing a black scarf around his neck, studded leather vest with some black stripes that were stitched to the sides, ordinary leather pants and ofcourse boots. Showing fear and disgust in his crimson eyes was a clear pointer that the little crawler frightened this young adventurer. His spikey black hair that had red highlights was medium length which gave a youthful look.

The young adventurer looked at the little insect which was slowly but steadily crawling up the strand of grass.

"Such a carefree attitude.. I like it!" Excited the boy faintly smiling at the little insect. Such a small, insignificant creature clearly couldn't cause any harm. But that thing charging at the young boy could! A loud squeal was heard a few meters away and with each second that passed was getting closer.

A <-Boar-> charged at the boy who was clearly surprised by it's speed. With only the option of evading the boar, the boy decided to jump to the side tumbling on the grass and down the hill. The ride down was a bit nauseating to say the least.. Luckily the boy had some experience with these kind of things, which is why he decided to take his <-One-handed Straight Sword-> out of it's sheath and try to possibly use it to slow down.

It was a long way down...

The bluenette saw a figure tumbling down a big hill and she drew blank for a bit. "OH GOD ITS A REVOLUTION!!" she mentally chirped.

She could only stare as he tumbled a long way down the grassy hill. Aww she wanted to try too! Then she heard a boar squeal in the distance... (Didn't really get it.. yeah xD)

The tumbling finally stopped, yet the boy's head swayed from one side to the other. Somehow he felt sorry for the guys that had motion sickness, this would have been a trip to hell for them. The boy exhaled a sigh of relief finally having some time to rela~

From all of that tumbling the boy had forgoten all about the <-Boar->. Until it slammed it's body at his sending him flying a few feet away as he landed on his face. Something clicked inside of his head at that moment, he raised it and pointed a fearsome glare at the <-Boar-> that was ready for another attack.

"Come here *Porky!" The boy stood up, charging at the <-Boar-> with all of his rage that has been bottled up until now. Raising his sword upwards as he was aproaching the "animal" he executed it with a downward strike <-Sonic Leap->. "Porky" squealed a lot louder until it finally became a mash of pixels and dispersed. Balance, balance.. Composure, self-control.. The boy couldn't stand all of the information that was being poured in his head, making it ache in pain. Though he had a lot more pressing matter to attend to, catching a glimpse of the bluenette that saw the whole ordeal.

"Are you perhaps a fellow adventurer? Or a mere commoner?" The boy spoke up in a more refined tone, sheathing his sword away. With light steps he made his way towards the bluenette that seemed only to stare at him. Perhaps she was one of 'them'.

"Me? Commoner? PSSH no chance! I like adventures where I can explore and have fun! Heeeyy wait a minute! I don't know you! Hiya! My name is Haine nice to meetcha!" she exclaimed quite optimistically with her usual cheerful smile.

She always tended to talk too much and was rather friendly to complete strangers.. that was just her. The only time she ever is serious is when she's in combat. Other than that... she's just plain old hyper.

As the boy aproached her his eyes glanced at her complete figure... Seeing her upclose like this there was no need to make any assumptions, she was really one of them. Her cheerful smile made him stop in his place, just a few feet away from the girl. Though something about her hair caught his attention.

"Ofcourse you don't, your one of them after all." The boy sighed slightly, his voice came out a bit sharp though he could swear that it wasn't his intention. She was one of the 'delusional' types, those who claim that this is not the 'real' world.

"Call me Mitsunari." There was a slight pause, though his look was still at her hair and that X thingy. That X thingy in your hair" Mitsunari pointed at the black thingy in her hair. "I've seen your 'kind' wearing those... What are they?" He asked in a quite curious tone, though many people would think that he was insane for asking such a question though to him it was something new.

"The black X thingy? Its just two hair clips on top of each other.. I guess my hair is too thick!" she exclaimed.

"Who now? PEOPLE CAN'T COPY MY STYLE ITS NOT FAIR ITS BALONEY," bellowed angrily. She was also split in personalities, you never knew how she would act like. One moment she's hyper and one moment she's sarcastic and competitive. Or all over the place you could say..

"'Hair clips'?" Mitsunari was slightly astonished by it's name, such simple words described this object perfectly. He then analyzed her hair length and his own, seeing that their styles were different in general. His hair was shorter and spikey, the red highlights really did give him a unique look. Mitsunari touching one of the spikes sighing.

"Guess 'hair clips' aren't ment for everybody.." Disapointed Mitsunari gave a sigh, though he was startled hearing her sudden burst. Who knew that Haine had it in her.

"Hm... Your an interesting person, I like you." Mitsunari exclaimed with a cheerful smile. Perhaps he could learn more about her kind. He needed to come up with a plan so that Haine would not go without him. Perhaps he just needed to take his time...

"Thanks!" she chirped before opening up her locator to track her familiar Yue. She was just about.. that hill! Over there!

Haine frantically ran off and swiftly picked up the little white animal before making her way back to Mitsunari.

"This is my familiar Yue! She can talk.. but nothing nice ever comes out of her loose trap," she huffed as she rolled her eyes.

"Oh yeah! Familiars are really helpful and can serve as snugglies when you're lonely and on floor three! TRUST ME you don't wanna go there," she shuddered. A desert.. full of scorpions and larger monsters. Not like she was scared of them, a level 8 wouldn't have to lift a finger for that! Level one monsters.. flies!

Mitsunari was suddenly confused by her actions as she ran off without saying a word.. Besides "thanks" that is. His curiosity was starting to kick in as he saw a little animal in Haine's hands. Familiar? Wait, what?..

"Um.. Familiar? It can talk...?" He closed his eyes trying to process the words she was saying... There was more to their 'kind' than he had thought.

"So, these 'familiars' are companions? This is my very first encounter with a beast tamer.. I have heard legends of such people, but they actually exist..." Mitsunari tried to calm down, but a smirk could be seen on his face. The information he was gathering was worth more to him than anything in the world.

"What is a person of your status doing in a commoners place such as this?" He couldn't stop asking questions, though he had to slow his pace down. To many people he was a weirdo and a lunatic, a social outcast. This time around Mitsunari was sincerely hoping not to make her think the same.

"It's not hard to tame a beast! You need to find something to feed it! Buuut.. Depending on where you are heading it can cost your life. Or if you want to tame a dragon or something.." she stated with a nod.

"Oh I'm everywhere! Any floor that I can step on I'm there! And also when you think about it.. the more you level up over here the easier it is to beat these harmless little boars. It would be like leveling up for simply smashing a fly! And leveling up wont really have to be an effort! But also keep in mind of your stamina and durability, sometimes you can get weary of fighting too much!" she smiled.

She loved making friends! Everything about new faces was exciting to her.

Taming a beast isn't difficult..? Feeding it... Cost life.. Wait, tame a dragon? Dragons exist?! From all of the excess thinking you wouldn't believe how much Mitsunari's head was aching. Though he had his usual smile, half of it was faked and used just for appearance sake... But then a term that he has frequently heard for as long as he could remember.

"What do you mean leveling up?" He asked in a slightly serious tone, his crimson eyes sparked a new fire and soon even his smile faded from his 'cheerful' face. "What is a 'level'?" Mitsunari asked in a serious tone, though he wasn't expecting much from her answer. Many people just passed him by when he asked or mocked him calling him a freak... That is why he has avoided asking about 'levels' for a very long time...

Mitsunari couldn't miss this opportunity!

"You see our reality is just like a video game now! Ever played head on combat at home? Same here! Every monster or boar you attack, the more experience points you get! When all your points reach 100 percent, you go on to the next level! In your case level two. Then you get more HP, which means less chances of dying in combat. And the more HP you get, you will be so strong that a boar would be just like a fly! So when you attacked that boar, you were leveling. Hence the term leveling up! But the more higher your level is, the slower it gets to reach 100 percent. So that means more fighting.. get my drift?" she questioned after a long winded explanation.

"Video game...?" Mitsunari pondered about her statement, but clearly everything she was saying made no sense... Experience?.. Ofcourse life experience, fighting monsters always strengthens a man, but what are these experience points Haine is reffering to? HP? What is that..? What the..?

"I'm sorry, but what are video games? Experience points...? What are HP and why do they determine how long I can last in a fight?" This was starting to get a bit awkward for Mitsunari since he really doesn't understand one single word she just spoke.

"So I don't know what you meant when you said that reality is just like a video game... This is the only reality that exists." Mitsunari wasn't lying, not one bit. He was honest speaking those words and he continued to have a serious look on his face not knowing if he will ever understand such things..

"Video games are games that are on.. a TV.." she said, trying to be as simple as she could.

"Experience points are what you earn after defeating a monster or a boss! In a menu there is a bar that tells you how much EP you earned after every fight! And the last thing is kind of hard to explain," she sweat dropped, trying to find a way to answer the last question.

"TV..? Is that a codename for a weapon?" He asked trying to be as cautious as he could. Who knew what secrets her 'kind' was hidding. Mitsunari's head started to hurt even more making him flinch from it, but he had to know more..

"Experience points, I still don't understand what they are.." Mitsunari muttered, trying to connect the dots in his head, ofcourse he didn't know much about their 'reality'.

"Are you from this world?" This was the point breaker, well for Mitsunari anyway. Aincard was his home, the place where he grew up. He can clearly remember his childhood inside of Aincard, but why does he feel that something is missing?

"Haha no silly! Its where you watch things like anime, news, and comedy shows! Its rather amusing you could say! And don't worry, there is a guide somewhere in your menu, everyone has one!" she giggled.

"From SAO? Nope! I am not a bot but I am a human! Its impossible to be born in SAO.." she stated with a confused expression.

He was strange! Maybe something happened when he logged on to SAO for the first time... who knew?

"Guess if I told you that everything you just mentioned is the first time I'm hearing in my whole life..." Mitsunari scratched the back of his head. This conversation was leading to nowhere, in the end he can't get any distinct answers from Haine, only more questions to ask.

"I've been in Aincard as long as I can remember so I don't know from what world you come from.." He shrugged trying to calm himself. "Each person I talk to ends up telling me about the 'real' world, but I only know about this one. Though you guys have a crazy habbit of calling it SAO..." Mitsunari chuckled moving his hand onto the sheath of his sword, it brought him a sense of security knowing that it was still there. If his weapon wasn't by his side who knows what he would do just to find it.

"You lost your memory? Oh my! I'm sure you'll get it back soon! I know this is very confusing for you to process.. but you'll understand soon enough! SAO IS what this world is called! Sword Art Online.." she sighed as she began to think of her first moments of entering SAO out of the blue.

"That's only a theory.. There is no sound proof that I lost my memories..." A part of him wanted to deny the fact that maybe Haine was right. Mitsunari felt that something was missing, though he couldn't put the finger on it. Memory loss is just absurd..

"Sword Art Online..." A name often used to describe this world, the only world that he knows.. Is it all a lie? He lowered his head starring at the grass beneath him, his spikey bangs hid his eyes from Haine as he stood there in silence. A click sound echoed inside of his head, in that instant he started to laugh..

"Probably, yeah.. Divine punishment.. Well as long as I'm 'balanced out'." Mitsunari gave off a strange vibe.

"You shouldn't trust people, you know that?" His voice was cold and sharp, with a smirk clearly visible on his face.

"W-Well um.. okay?" she nervously laughed as she backed up a bit when she noticed the smirk on his face. In situations like this, she didn't know how to react.

One of Haine's flaws.. she trusted too easily. And that causes a lot of issues. She couldn't help it because of her friendly nature though.
