[PP-F5] Third time's the charm<<The Traveler>> (Mack, Lancelot)

Recommended Posts

Oblivious to the conversation her comrades were sharing, Lancelot snoozed rather peacefully despite the uncomfortable sandy place she had decided to sleep on. Soft patterned breaths escaped her as her mind drifted off to dreams of leaving and beating Sword Art Online once and for all, and visions of being one of the players the world would thank for her bravery displayed while being stuck here. But alas dreams are exactly that dreams. Not one to stir much in her sleep, the noirette continued to snooze until Mack awoke her for her shift.

Zandra laid in the sand, closed eyes and cloaks under and above her. Sadly, it was today that was the day in the week she was affected by the curse. She dreamed she was strolling in town of beginning. Thou there was something that was strange. The streets was completly empty, not a single NPC or player to be spotted. Not even a bird on the roof tops. Then suddenly the loud ding of a churchbell echoed in her ears and everything turned red. A door to her right opened and a familiar player came out. Here beloved Jomei.''Hi darling, what is happening?'' what was she wanted to say. But her lips didnt moved. Instead she pulled forth her whip and walked towards him with an evil smile on her face. Jomei looked surprised at first, but when Zandra was right infront of her she stood on her toes and kissed him. She had lost all control of her body. Suddenly she lifted the whip and twirled it a few laps around his neck before pulling it as hard as she could. She started to panic but couldnt stop her action. She could just see Jomeis face become bluer and bluer and the healthbar steadily dropping down to red. When there was only one hp left, everything turned completly back. She suddenly pushed herself up into sitting position when the dream ended and she woke up. She breathed heavily and her hair was wet from sweat. She looked up and it took awhile before she understood where she was. She was in the desert, doing a quest with Lancelot and Mack. At the horizon, she could see the sun slowly wakeing up to begin its walk across the sky.

OOC: Back now.

Mack's ears pricked up at the sounds of Zandra and Lancelot moving around behind him. Obviously, the ladies were up and about. For his part, the red-headed behemoth still stood silently as a statue just outside the boundaries of the stone outcropping of rock that the women had used as a sleeping space for the night. Once he had assumed his post, the commanding officer of the Crimson Blades had stood pat for the entire night without moving other than to occasionally turn his head as he kept his back to his two companions to afford them what privacy the situation permitted.

"The storm's the same as last night, maybe a bit worse," he called out, turning his head just slightly so that the sound of his voice would carry back to the ladies, but not so far so as to bring either of them into sight. After all, women were much more odd than men when it came to such things as spending more than twelve hours in their armor. Who knew what they might be doing back there, but Mack would have given good odds that at least one of the pair of them was in the process of cleaning armor or who knew what all else. He wasn't about to turn around and find out. Turning once more so he was fully facing forward, the bear of a red-headed man crossed his arms over his chest and waited for his companions to announce that they were ready to continue the quest.

Zandra streatched her arms high in tha air, her knots in her spine jumping back into place. And her mouth opened in a large jawn while she walked up to Mack.''Heya there big guy. How have the night been? Anything exiting?'' It seemed it havent been anything more exiting then sand flying thru the air.''Very well, better that then beeing met by you full with red crystal wounds right.'' she said and winked at him.''So, time to head out to find those wares I guess. Lancelot, you coming?''

She havent walked far before she saw something.''There, there is something over there.'' she said and walked up to whatever the shadow was. When she got closer, she saw it wasnt the cargo, it was a giant beetle. At the same moment she realised it, the beetle spotted her and came running towards her. Her first frightened expression quickly turned into a smirk.''Hehe, you attacking wrong girl bug.'' she charged up her shattering colossus and activated it. It conected and she got a tight grip around its head, then she pulled the handle and slammed the bug in the sand twice, making its health reach first yellow, then red, then nothing and it exploded into crystal, rewarding her with some Col and a material.

OOC: 24 hours up, posting.

"It's been a very quiet night, aside from the storm," Mack rumbled in response to Zandra's question. He disappeared for a moment into the small storm free space beneath the rock overhang and retrieved his crimson cloak. Tapping it once with a finger, he equipped the item once more and then pulled up the cloak's hood to obscure his red-bearded features. Before long they had set off across the desert through the storm once more. It wouldn't take too much longer for them to track down that cargo and then they'd only need to return to Armadillo with it.

When the group encountered the beetle Mack readied Invictus to jump into the fray, should Zandra require the assistance. However, she quickly dispatched the insect and Mack merely returned Invictus to his shoulder.

Zandra brushed some of her black hair out off her face, made both her crimson eyes be visible for a moment or two, before it fell down and covered left eye again. Thou her smile was still visible.''Nothing better then a killed mob or two to get rid of the sleepiness.''She said to the large male that seemed to have been ready to jump in if there have been any need to. Then she looked at their other traveleing companion that still laid in down and sleeped.''Ehm... Mack, what do you think we should do with Lancelot?'' she asked and nooded at the girl. They better move back pretty soon, since there dosent looks like the sandstorm gonna calm down. Then she spotted something again, it could be another beettle. But this seemed more squarish. She walked over to it, and this time she was right. It was the lost cargo. She took up the small crate and walked back to Mack.

Mack considered the problem of what to do with the still sleeping Lancelot while Zandra disappeared into the swirling sands. In truth, there was something that needed to be done with Lancelot, who was steadfastly refusing to wake up. A few moments later Zandra returned with the crate under one arm, leaving Mack in a further conundrum given his rant from the previous evening. Still, this seemed a time to break his normally iron clad rules. Unequipping his crimson and white trimmed guild cloak once again, he moved over to Lancelot and proceeded to wrap the tunic around the woman before scooping her up in his arms. "I've heard of carrying people through quests, but this is a bit literal," Mack said in a low tone to Zandra. "Still, we can't leave her here. She could be killed. Let's start heading back, if that's the cargo you're after."

Zandra watched as Mack lifted up the third companion in his cloak. She looked at the scene with a smile on her lips. This was a sign that there was still a hope for humanity. Mack probably would gain anything from saving the girl. It would have been easier to just leave her in the desert to die. But due to her feelings she had got from Mack, he is one of the last persons that would do such a thing. Herslef was also one of those people, but since she held the crate and Mack had a build that it seemed carrying another player or two wouldnt matter to him. So she nodded at him and the red haired man and red eyed woman started to walk thru the desert, back to the main settlement.

Awhile later the entered the town. Three players, where one was sleeping and carried by the large man. It didnt took long for them to find the cloaked NPC and hand over the cargo.''Well, I guess this is it. It have been fun to adventuring with you Mack. Im sure we will meet again.'' she walked into the warp gate and waved at him.''Bye Mack.''
