Training Practice (Manta)

Recommended Posts

Sitting in the waiting room of the Arena, Nobuyuki waited for his opponent to arrive. Surfing through his inventory, Nobuyuki think of the best equipment he could wear for the fight. It's only a training spar, but still, it's a fight of precision, so spotting the enemy weakness and was able to hit it before they had a chance to hit you is a priority. "Let's not let this day go to waste. No silly mistake. You have one chance." Nobuyuki told himself, equipping his favorite brown coat that he wore most of the time in the hunting field and the Pendant of Icarus, along with his sword Baransu, Nobuyuki decided that it's time that he get out to the arena for the one hit fight

Manta sighed and entered the arena, finding Undead pretty quickly. She didn't particularly want to fight him, but she supposed that it might be good training. She quickly switched out her latest rapier for one that she had received as a drop from the Tagas quest, mainly because it gave the user more accuracy. Undead was probably a bit too scared to do a real match, even with over health. She unsheathed the rapier and aimed it at him slowly, before lowering it and sending him the duel request for a first strike duel. "Whenever you're ready." She called out across the field to him, raising her rapier once again.

"Alright, keep focus. Don't make any irrational movement." Nobuyuki let out a slow breath, before readied for his attack. Nobuyuki dashed forward, his sword ready. Readied to deliver a horizontal strike, Nobuyuki quickly switch to his sword art and thrust his sword forward, using the <<Vorpal strike>> sword art. The green aura of the sword extended forward as the blade flew toward Manta. However, his accuracy is a little off, and he missed her cheek by just a few centimeters.

Manta frowned as the man attacked her almost immediately. She had been planning to do the first attack and to end this quickly, but it appeared that it was time to focus on dodging. She slipped to the side a little bit, allowing the strike to pass by her within centimeters. She didn't want to waste energy moving too far away. She raised her rapier the moment his attack finished, sending a halfhearted stab his way, already knowing that it would miss. The attack just hadn't had the preparation behind it that she needed.

"Holy.... She's fast." Nobuyuki quickly reverted his sword to parry the attack, pushing the blade to a side. With Manta opened for an attack, Nobuyuki spun around and swung his sword in a wide horizontal angle. Manta easily duck under the attack. This time, Nobuyuki is in trouble. He's wide open for an attack to hit him.

Manta dodged the swipe from Undead's blade, attempting to follow up with her own. She just wasn't doing her best today, and her stab with her rapier missed him by almost a foot. She needed to work on her precision, which is one reason why she disliked these first strike duels. They really depended only on accuracy and evasion.

Nobuyuki could see that Manta was targeting lower down his foot. "There!" The young warrior quickly pull his foot back, and tumbled forward. With a 180 degree turn, Nobuyuki wind up his attack, and swung it at Manta with all his might. The blast was strong enough to flung her across a short distance, and hit the wall of the Arena. Realizing that he had gone a little too far, Nobuyuki quickly ran toward Manta, asking in concern. "You ok? Sorry I went a little too hard."

Manta raised an eyebrow as Undead's strike sent her back into the wall. She shook it off and stood up straight, sheathing her rapier. "Don't worry about it, you didn't hit too hard. Maybe that was your strongest, but you certainly didn't hit too hard." She said back to him, a little bit miffed that she had lost the duel. There was a bit of skill involved in these duels, but in the end it all came down to luck, and what the game decided. She wasn't going to make him feel bad for winning though. That would just be rude. "Good duel." She said, unsure if he wanted to go another round or not.
