[SP-F6] State of Mind <<Calming the Soul>>

Recommended Posts

Keith had heard rumors of a strange waterfall. Upon hearing this, he instantly wanted to go see it. He packed the gear he may need and started his walk to the waterfall. "I hope this is going to be worth it..." He said, as he swatted some flies as he walked through a patch of brush.

Keith made it to a clearing and he put his hand flat above his eyes. The waterfall gurgled down the rocks, making a serene sound of calm mixed with the calm chirps of birds in the distance. Peach trees were in full bloom and pink pettles slowly fluttered down, twirling calmly in the air. Keith looked at some flat stones laying above the water in the river. He felt the urge to go see them, he unequipped his sword and boots and skipped over.

Keith leaned forward and eased down onto the stone. He looked around and saw how peaceful this place was. He leaned forward and stared into the pool. He regreted that instantly. He didn't see himself, he saw a monster, a demon, he saw hell in a human. Keith retacted his face from the pooland panted rapidly. "Wh-What in the world-?"

However, the sound of the waterfall broke his worry. It's pure sounds made him want to be pure as well. He crossed his leg and closed his eyes, making a sigh. He listened to the sound of the water and took a deep breath, taking in, and letting out. He felt his mind start to focus on what was important to him, and he smiled.

He felt his body go limp and he was standing in what seemed to be a desert, with pure white sand and a bitch black sky. He walked for a bit and then felt a small tremor quake through the land.

Keith felt the sand pelting him, eventually blowing and blasting him a ll over, trying to cover and consume his whole body. Keith broke away a stumbled over looking up to see the sand had started to clump together, forming a human shape. The sand continued to form and it now looked like Keith himself, except it was pure black, void of any detail. It drew its sword and a small red crystal with a green health bar appeared above its head. <> HP:29 LV: 13. Keith saw how the shadow was a perfect copy of his own likeness, he drew his sword as well.

Dark and Keith both dashed at each other with the same speed, lashing out at each other with their swords. Matching each other flawlessly with every blow. They continued to slash and grind heir blades against each other, neither having landed a hit.

Keith raised his sword over his head as Dark did the exact same, and brought it down into the other's shoulder. Keith grunted and flinched at the wound and Dark did the same, yet making no noise. Keith quickly stopped and retracted his sword, as Dark did the same. "I see now..." Keith said as he tilted his head, and Dark did the exact same.

Keith saw only one option of destroying the monster. He took his sword and pushed it into his own body, as Dark did exactly the same. Both their health bars slowly began to dip...

As their health began to trickle down, Keith looked up at his dark counter-part. "Damn it... There's nothing I can do... It's either we both fight forever or both of us die..."

Keith's body flashed and a notification appeared on his HUD, level up. His health was restored and he felt renewed. Dark Keith was a monster, and was not capable of leveling up, leaving him falling to his own blade.

Keith awoke on the stone he had drifted unconscious on. He looked around him and sighed. Nothing really happened? He saw that his level had indeed increased though, so something really had happened...

Keith's eyes opened to what seemed to be a palace made of obsidian. He took a few steps and saw four doors. 'Fear, Hate, Greed, Doubt." Each one was written above one of the doors. Keith looked at them all and sighed. "Only way seems to be through one of these..."

Keith walked up to the door labeled Doubt and pushed it open. "Is this the right room?" A long hall was illuminated by white torches and at the end and tall skeletal figure stood, holding a sword and heavy armor. It had green bars above it's head and it's name said: Envoy of Doubt. Keith walked forward and watched it raise it's sword.

Keith looked at it and he raised his own sword. "A fight huh? Well, let's go!" He ran at the monster and made a slash.

Keith tried to lift his sword to block, and if possible, even counter the hefty attack. He felt the large blade grind against his and in the shower of spark, could not clearly tell if he had countered or not.

Keith: 29/33

Doubt: 30/30
