Personality:

Alohi had always been described as someone with her head in the clouds. Her head filled to the brim with idealism and optimism, she always expected and hoped for the best possible results. This, of course, only fed into her out going personality that seemed to be laced with a tinge of eccentricity and quirkiness that seems to be a double edged sword in many occasions. On the exterior, she may seem a ditsy, slightly clumsy air head, but she has a calculating, premeditated side to her which she rarely ever shows; harboring her occasionally opportunistic and self-preservationist ideals. She tends to be stubborn, once her mind is made up, clinging to whatever she has decided on with a burning iron grip, refusing to let go no matter what.

Generally, Alohi holds no interest in electronics whatsoever. Truthfully speaking, she never had any particular interest in Sword Art Online or any game for that matter, but only got it in order to grow closer to her crush. Tying into this, Alohi is a well known hopeless romantic. She is always on the active search for her potential significant other, often romanticizing it to an almost disturbing extent. Ironically enough, she's also quick to fall in love -- developing feelings from the most meaningless gestures of common courtesy and basic kindness.

History:

Alciel, or as she was known before her imprisonment inside of Sword Art Online; Alohi Maliana. A petite, mocha skinned girl who was born and raised in Hawaii for the first 10 years of her life. Her parents, while open and aware of the times in which they lived, were largely conservative of the old ways of their people, leading to Alohi’s inevitable induction into the culture as well.

Soon after, she gained interest in outside cultures and, with the permission and aid from her family, left Hawaii for a home stay abroad program in Japan. Within a few years, she was relatively fluent in Japanese, though she clung steadfast to her Hawaiian cultural roots, going to great lengths to keep up her appearance and native linguistic skills of her homeland.

While studious, Alohi had never been one for technology and to be honest, she held no interest in video games like the soon to be Sword Art Online, though this was liable to change upon her entering High School in Okinawa. During her 2nd year, she fell in love, to say the least. Her crush had been an avid player of video games and she longed for something she could relate to him about so they would grow closer until the day he would ask her to be his. Then, as if on cue, came the announcement of Sword Art Online’s release!

Sparing no time, she obtained a copy along with a Nerve Gear set with the Yen she had been saving over her years in Japan. With a smile, she slipped the headset on and launched the game before mouthing the words that would mark the beginning of the end.

'Link Start!', and within moments, she was trapped; all in the name of love.

» Virtues:

Whimsical - Outgoing and friendly, she is always up for a conversation or to make a new friend. The more people you know, the more connections you tend to have, after all! She is more than willing to lend in ear to a stranger in need or simply go along a shake everyone's hand with a colorful, vibrant vigor -- albeit sometimes overly so. She discourages introversion and does her best to make all within her circle comfortable with one another.

Calculating - She puts on the air headed front, but she may be sharper than she lets off. Just when you think you have her pinned down, she may give you a run for you money. She always has a backup plan for any situation she's in, and many a time, she will execute them to the letter to better her standpoint. Despite being a caring creature a majority of the time, she can be almost eerily logical and her actions pneumatic when the situations calls for it.

Tenacious - As one who holds steadfast to what she believes in, she's a tough nut to crack. Typical representations of right and wrong mean little in her eyes as she makes her own rules and passes judgement accordingly (rarely in the physical sense). While she is generally flexible as far as sociability goes, she is blatantly narrow minded when it comes to ideas and suggestions. In the long run, it's her way or the high way.

» Flaws:

Quirky - Yeah, she has her kinks...who doesn't? Her sometimes overzealous personality can sometimes become rather outlandish and odd. She is quite easily amused to the point of it being ridiculous, easily startled to the point of it not really being that satisfying anymore, easily excited to the point of it possibly being obnoxious, sometimes friendly to the point of being overbearing and her devotion to her Hawaiian heritage make for an odd combination.

Romantic - One who is quick to fall in love and tends to dote on her would be lovers excessively; be it by smother them with attention or objects to show her affection. She is also particularly vulnerable to emotional appeal -- sob stories and flattery in particular make her easy to be taken advantage of. Seeing as she actively seeks the one who she is destined to be with for the rest of her life, she is open to many, if not all attempts at emotional appeal, however does not take to the same sex, as one would imagine. Her emotional view of many things often clouds her judgement and actions depending on what it exactly is.

Fragile - Rejection does not go over well with her. Be it as a friend or as a crush, if she is heart broken, she'll be in a state of utter disarray. If she were ever to be rejected, not even she truly knows what she may do. A broken heart can often be just as dangerous to those around as it is to the victim. Though it goes without saying that it would definitely bring about a serious spout of depression and reckless behavior that could possibly be lethal (to her or those around her) if left unchecked. Granted, she's not the crazy type, however she does let her emotions consume her.
