Two-Handed Weapons & Armor

Given that one handed weapon users effectively get +1 Armor piece, due to being able to carry a shield in the off-hand, has any thought been given to allowing 2 Handed Weapon users to add a third piece of armor to their builds? Jewelry or something like that that had buffs on it. Would also throw some more work to the artisans.

Already was considered at the inception of Sword Arts. You'll notice two handed versions of weapons will beat their one handed sibling by a notch, which in turn one handers who take no shield can compensate for by getting rank 2 martial arts.
