(PP-F2) More Determination

Recommended Posts

It was a nice day for material gathering, only today Manta had her eyes set on the second floor. She would drain it dry of materials if it killed her. Well, she couldnt really drain it dry as materials were a respawning resource. Still, she would go out and gather as many as she could before going in. She had done the same thing the day before on the first floor, maybe she would do this every day until she was on the top floor they had unlocked.

Manta wandered further into the second floor until she came across a small group of giant butterflies. They looked like they might drop some cool materials, like butterfly wings for potions and the like. She charged in, her skills giving her damage a little boost, and activated her sword art <<Streak>>. Her sword slashed through the group, one shotting them all and garnering her four materials.

Manta frowned, glancing around and seeing no more butterflies whose wings she could rip off and use to make potions with. She also checked the ground around her feet. No convenient materials there either. So she had no choice but to continue on into the forest in search of more monsters to kill in hopes of tons of loot. No question about it, she wasnt leaving without a lot of materials.

Manta smiled as she saw another cluster of butterflies ahead of her. This seemed to be her lucky day. The day before she had been plagued by a run of bad luck, but it seemed like today she had a surplus. She unsheathed her rapier and charged in, activating streak once again and sending her blade through the enemies and getting herself another four materials. She was making great progress now.

Of course, she could find and kill a group of mobs every few seconds. She continued to search around the area, hoping that she had found a swarm of them, but she was sadly mistaken. There were no more butterflies in the immediate area. She sheathed her sword and trudged on, keeping her eyes open for more materials that she could take.

She moved forwards once again. It seemed like her earlier luck had dissapeared. She was an experienced material gatherer though, so she knew that players would often have bad runs. They were always equaled out with great runs too though. She was comforted knowing that if she didnt find any mats for a long period of time, she was bound to find the mother load later.

She was definately having a bad streak, even if it was only a small one. She continued walking, her eyes roaming her surroundings in hope of more materials or mobs to kill, but the forest seemed to be deserted all of a sudden. She sheathed her rapier again, her hand resting on the pommel of the blade as she continued to walk, not yet feeling tired.

Just as she had been thinking before, a bad run always meant good luck further ahead. She unsheathed her rapier happily and charged at the group of butter flies that she had just spotted. More materials for her! It served to fill her with even more determination than she had before. She slash through the group with her sword art Streak and then gathered up the materials that they had dropped.

Well, maybe finding one group of butter flies didnt mean an end to her bad run. As she continued on she wasnt seeing anymore butterflies, or materials just lying on the ground. She sheathed her rapier once again and continued on her walk through the second floor. It was only a matter of time before she found more materials or mobs to kill.

It appeared that she had been incorrect. Within a few more minutes of walking she had run into another swarm of butter flies. She unsheathed her rapier quickly, the sun gleaming off the blade and alerting her enemies. She was too quick for them to do anything though and slashed through them using streak again before gathering up the fallen materials.

It turned out that she had been wrong. That bad streak was most definitely over. She came across another group of butterflies just a few moments later. Her sword, still unsheathed from the last group of monsters, slashed through the air and through the butterflies. The monsters burst into crystals and dropped materials which she quickly picked up and stored in her inventory.

She had had a good run so far, although not as good as some that she had seen. She had seen others come into the city with bulging nags of materials and col. Well, she hadnt gotten any Col yet, but Col wasnt her focus on this trip anyway. She was focusing on materials, and while she didnt have hundreds of them, it wasnt like she had special unique items to increase her chances of finding loot or to multiply the amount of materials that she found.

She was glad that her energy was holding up and allowing her to continue this hunt. It seemed like every time she lost a good bit of energy she stopped finding enemies just long enough for it to return to her. She supposed that that was lucky, but she would much rather be finding tons of monsters and running out of energy than have full energy and be finding almost no enemies.

Clad in his chilling black armor, <<Eternal Melody>> The monochrome haired boy exited his usual farming ground. A gemstone cavern that he had discovered when he tumbled down a chasm, he had found most of his materials in that cave. Along with a few rather beefy Golems, thankfully nothing he couldn't handle. Ugh it had been a long day.

"Hmm?" spotting a familiar woman out in the open Takneil formed an unseen smile through the helm of his armor, someone he had been meaning to talk to for a while now but never seemed to find her. "Manta!" He called out while he approached the white haired female, his armor fading away in black wisps as to not bombard the player with a sudden temperature drop. With only the chest plate left the boy was more revealed, showing his care free expression and his long monochrome hair.

Manta heard someone call her name and turned to see Takniel. She smiled happily, glad to have found a companion of some sort while out materials gathering. Despite all of her determination to get materials and the like, this was probably one of the most boring things she had done in her life. She had no idea how people did this. She raised her hand, giving him a giant wave. "Hey Takniel!" She shouted out as he approached. Maybe he would teach her the secret to material hunting....

Glad that the woman had remembered him Takneil gave a wave back, though while he had not been forgotten he himself had left a certain white wolf napping inside of the cave. Quickened footsteps padded against the rocky terrain as Vain exited the gemstone cavern, his snout to the ground. Having the player's scent permanently etched into his senses it didn't take long to spot his master not so far away. "So what are you doing way out here?" he asked, the outskirts of floor two had mostly become his domain. Most of the front liners stayed above floor ten so he didn't have to deal with turf fighting when it came to material gathering and he even had protected a couple of low levels from mobs at one point.

Manta smiled at the other player, sheathing her sword and turning to fully face him. Perhaps it wasnt as obvious what she was doing as she had though. "I'm attempting to gather materials. I dont know how you do it Tak..." She said jokingly. It was a pretty calm day for the first floor, at least in her opinion. Usually some mid level player was bullying lower levels, or a frontliner was marching around showing off. She was glad that she had come across Tak and not some pker though.

"ah...I usually just take on a Bandit stronghold I found not too far from here, it seems it some sort of spawning trap for lower levels, but I barely can manage the waves myself so I tend to get my fair share of materials and leave." he stated. Pointing to the cave he had exited from he shrugged. "there is also a gemstone cavern near the end of that cave, you'll come out to a deep crevice but you can either climb down it or jump down" he suggested. "though I would eye how far you are from the ground, my first time I had to stab the wall to stop from becoming a splatter...or shards..." Spotting the albino wolf charging towards him the boy smirked as he side stepped causing the familiar to shoot past him. "I could mark the locations on your map if you want. oh and that's Vain." he simply introduced his familiar at last second.
