Zelrius 0 Posted March 29, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 29, 2016 (edited) It was recently ruled (Or I recently found out) that you in fact do not need to be Level 25 (The Requirement for Equipping Tier 2 Items) to use Tier 2 or higher Consumables. Personally, that makes little to no sense. Take it this way, If you have to be level 25 to equip the item, a Consumable cannot be pulled out of someone's inventory until they are of Required level. Since to take it out would be equipping it, thus making the Level Requirement redundant. I'd like to put forth the vote to make it so that a Player must meet Tier Requirements to use said Tier's Consumables. Edited March 29, 2016 by Zelrius
Cilla 0 Posted March 29, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 29, 2016 I don't think it should be allowed (and I'm a low level to boot), it seems like something that should be unlocked in order to access in a similar manner as the other T2 items.
Lowenthal 0 Posted March 30, 2016 #3 Share Posted March 30, 2016 But another question is, can a person ise is tier 2 use a tier 2 item in someone who is under that tier?
Amira 0 Posted March 30, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 30, 2016 @Ratatosk Seeing as you voted yes, im curious as to what your view on this is, since your the only one.
Ratatosk 0 Posted March 30, 2016 #5 Share Posted March 30, 2016 (edited) First, let's get the definition of equip, through google of course. e•quip (ĭ-kwĭpˈ) ► v. To supply with necessities such as tools or provisions. v. To furnish with the qualities necessary for performance: an education that will equip you to handle such problems. See Synonyms at furnish. v. To dress up. On these forums, we use the third definition, to dress up. To take out a T2 crystal is not "dressing it up" on you, so why should it be banned to lower leveled players? If I put on a piece of armor, I am equipping it, also "dressing it up." I cannot equip a T2 item in my offhand as a shield, therefore they are not equippables but consumables. I cannot drink a T2 shield, and neither can I wear it (Since I'm level 12), but I can drink a T2 potion. This is the main difference between an equippable and a consumable. Lowenthal 0 Posted March 30, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 30, 2016 Rata. Ita to prevent what a problem was before qe had tiered weapons and armor. Which was level 5 players walking around with the strongest weapons in the game. And as for you immense anount of sarcasam, please take it elsewherr as its unwanted here. People here are trying to have a civil conversation.
Takao 0 Posted March 30, 2016 #7 Share Posted March 30, 2016 If you're gonna argue the exact definitions of words instead of what's balanced and unbalanced, you're gonna have a bad time.
Zelrius 0 Posted March 30, 2016 Author #8 Share Posted March 30, 2016 To simply hold the item is dressing your character up in it, by that definition. It's the same as wielding a sword. So yes, Holding a consumable is temporarily dressing your character in that item for a moment, therefore should not be permitted by RPG standards
Ratatosk 0 Posted March 30, 2016 #9 Share Posted March 30, 2016 @Lowenthal That was when tiers didn't exist , now that they do, it doesn't matter anyway if a level 5 player uses a T2 crystal to increase their damage. It will still be lower than someone who is level 25 and can equip T2 gear. It seems illogical to count a simple consumable (Crystal) as a piece of gear. Btw, did you post with your phone? Amira 0 Posted March 30, 2016 #10 Share Posted March 30, 2016 In videogame terms you equip potions to use them. Regardless I dont think that the definition of "equip" is relevant in this situation.
Zelrius 0 Posted March 30, 2016 Author #11 Share Posted March 30, 2016 Refer to what I said above buddo
Takao 0 Posted March 30, 2016 #12 Share Posted March 30, 2016 You have to "equip" the item to your battle ready inventory to use it anyway, don't you?
Lowenthal 0 Posted March 30, 2016 #13 Share Posted March 30, 2016 Yes Raya, I did post with my phone. The ruling will stand that those underneath the tier level cannot use that tier level of consumables and/or equipment. But they can be affected by said effects, ahould a player using the said item is of the approiate level.
